Ya from the sounds of it most Bucs fans seem to not be too worried about Devin White leaving and I think retaining Winfield was an underrated but great move
If you are a Buc fan...you aren't losing sleep over D. White not being here...and are VERY happy that David is back. I think non-fans THINK White is better than he actually is because of the splash plays and the Super Bowl int.
Fair enough! I haven’t watched enough Tampa football these last couple years to say which is better I guess I was going more off age and the fact that as a Chiefs fan, White felt unstoppable during that Super Bowl lol
Whats really scary for the ravens is the guy replacing patrick queen, trenton simpson is on another level and with nate wiggins in the draft I think marlon humphrey is gonna be back in form
Ya I mean Ravens defense is so good that losing Queen isn’t going to really matter in the grand scheme of things. Just kinda sucks he went to a division rival like Pittsburgh lol
I’d agree with giants at Mid. They have some ballers on front 7, but need more depth there for rotation. And secondary needs ton of work unless their draft picks take a huge step forward
In their defense the offense didn’t give them much help last year but ya the lack of proven secondary talent could be a huge issue after letting their most talented DB walk in the offseason
When your offense never scores, the other team starts on a short field. Your defense won't give up a lot of yards, because there aren't any yards to give.
As a Pats fan, I think it's MORE THAN FAIR that the defense was put in the "Unknown" tier. I feel like a lot of people overrate the heck out of last year's defense because the offense and special teams were so fricking awful that it made the good defense look much better than it actually was. Not only did they regress significantly in forcing turnovers and scoring, but that 3-game stretch where they lost each one despite the opposing team never scoring more than 10 points in them was driven more by horrible offensive play by the opponent rather than actual great defense by the Pats (IMO). However, the rushing defense was nothing short of amazing (excluding that BS Howell scramble against Washington), and I have no doubt the defensive line and linebackers will continue to play at a high level. The secondary is a different story and needs lots of work, despite having good players like Dugger Peppers and Gonzo. Additionally, I feel like fellow Pats fans are slightly overreacting to Bill and Steve being gone and thinking the D will heavily regress. I get the game-planning and play-calling won't be the same, but you can't convince me that a great majority of players and coaches who learned under that system and are still there will just completely forget how to play and not know how to prepare for games. Even with how good the defense has been over the last 2 years of me extensively watching, I've seen plenty of terrible lowlights by the defense while Bill and Steve called the shots, so who's to say those won't happen under Mayo and Covington? Add in that their top 5 players in Judon and Gonzo are coming back and hoping for some more steadiness on offense, and the Pats defense can continue to be a good, not great, unit.
Ya and the fact that Gonzo didn’t even play half of his rookie season, wished we coulda seen more of him cuz he looks to have loads of potential. I expect them to be a solid to above average defense for sure just a little too much uncertainty going into Mayo’s first year at the helm
These guys are not smart. Bears have one of the best secondaries in their own division these guys just don't know about Brisker or Stevenson they will look clueless come this season
@@KenKenTheZombie420 Montez Sweat wasn't a pro bowler last season for no reason. As soon as bears add a proven pass rusher soon to pair with Sweat and others this people will half to redo these Rankins
To each their own man 😂 I think y’all are a good defense and I’m probably even undervaluing the Christian Wilkins addition I’ll give you that. Should be a fun season in the AFC West. Predictions for that coming out this week btw 😉
That defensive collapse in the second half of the NFCCG was also concerning I must admit. I’d like to think some of the additions in free agency they made this offseason will improve that d-line and with their track record in the draft recently I also expect Arnold and Rakestraw to be immediate contributors in the secondary. I could see an argument for “Unknown” tier honestly.
@@swivelchairsports Another thing is that rookie corners dont tend to hit the ground running and most take at least until the second half of the year to get good
