If we aknowledge Serges and Isoc been robotic copies of Wily, we can deduce the guy has been partially responsible for keeping the Maverick virus (and by extension Sigma) alive in order to continue meddling with things a hundred years after the events of the original Megaman storyline.
Dynamo as a landlord would be halarious. Imagine if every time your landlord shows up that upbeat fast paced music begins to play. Everytime he raises the rent he does that shrug with that smug ass grin. Everytime he has to lower the rent due to something forcing him to or a rule he didnt know biting him in the ass that shocked look on his face . Rent is due * teleports in cue music* Takes rent smiles *teleports away*
I had always assumed it was the other way around with Sigma _becoming_ the Virus after punching Zero's forehead crystal and seemingly "absorbing" the Virus from within Zero as shown during the flashback in X4.
@@javiervasquez625 During that fight Zero has many mannerisms very similar to Dr. Wily... Sigma was literally built to punch though robots thicker than tanks and here's this old ass looking toaster of a Reploid looking at him like a new pair of clothes while Sigma starts acting like he's having several PTSD flashbacks before the fight was over... Sigma was scared and confused out of his mind on how he was getting beaten so badly to the point of throwing his dignity away and taking a cheap shot during an apparent mechanical failing of his enemy just to get outta there alive... And that's exactly what the virus wanted... Sigma is Wily's Gutsman 2.0 the first victim of many who would follow...
@@Bakanineinstein You're making it seem as if Sigma was _chosen_ by the virus when nothing in the series ever even implies that the Maverick Virus has a sentience of its own to pick and choose which robots are to become infected and which ones are not so i can't say i agree with the conclusion you've laid down above. As far as i'm concerned Sigma was simply the unlucky Hunter who after succeeding in neutralizing Zero was infected by the virus itself leading to him becoming the virus as a reaction to his proximity to Zero following their fight. It was at all a matter of chance which lead Sigma to become the vessel for the virus itself by been the only Maverick Hunter powerful enough to put down Wily's Magnum Opus which had already annihilated Garma Team by himself prior to Sigma's arrival to end the conflict once and for all. With this in mind it becomes quite apparent that Sigma is a tragic victim in all of this, getting ensnared in Wily's nonsense all because he was the biggest animal in the jungle able to take down the God of Destruction.
@@javiervasquez625 I agree... Forced to be the face of the enemy to everything he would have otherwise chosen to stand for... But there is something in the series... Sigma himself claimed to have talked to some kind of replica of Wily's once human consciousness, a replica that we can even infer has something akin to a DNA Soul like a Reploid, yet strong enough to replace the previous mindset... Both Serges and Isoc are examples of Reploid body's that seem to contain nothing beyond the mind of Wily... This is likely a failsafe of the virus to make sure in the event Zero is somehow damaged there will always be someone to help repair him...
@@Bakanineinstein I know Inafune stated once that Wily managed to survive past the Classic Era "through the virus" but i can't say such ambiguous words make any explicit claims suggesting Wily and the virus are one and the same simply floating around awaiting a robot to infect. Most people i've discussed with regarding Serges and Isoc believe them to be Wily Numbers created by Wily for the specific purpose of watching over Zero a century later very much like the Light Capsules watch over X. Seeing as i can't see why the Humans of 21XX would randomly create Reploids with the appearance of oldmen i have to agree with all the people i've talked to who also believe Serges and Isoc to be inventions of Wily himself precisely to allow the doctor to continue carrying out plans for World domination beyond his mortal life. What happens to Isoc ressembling the "Erasure Incident" from Xtreme 2 could be seen as a failsafe though given Zero's success in breaking into Gate's Lab forcing "Isoc" to carry a desperate retreat to possess another Reploid with which to continue his schemes (damn you Capcom for rushing X6 and never releasing X9 like you should have over 20 years ago).
I'd say the Jedi Buzz Lightyear cosplay is his most impressive one considering he did it 2 years before Toy Story even came out and Buzz Lightyear wasn't a character yet.
Hobo Sigma's saving grace is the satisfying 'THUNK' he makes when he drops onto the stage, lol! Let us not forget to mention that Grim Reaper Sigma fights with the audience of the great mighty MOTORHEAD!
Honestly the second moldy Sigma (actually named Gamma Sigma) is my favorite one. Sure, the jpeg is off-putting but past that, it is Sigma fused with the final boss of Mega Man 3 and he puts up a real good challenge. The music also has to be my favorite Sigma theme out of all of them.
I've always thought that Sigma's final form in X1 was supposed to look like the Maverick symbol. Gotta say, I've always thought Sigma's original green-torso body looked terrible. It's pretty crude looking in an unappealing way. I was never that keen on death/scythe Sigma. He's probably the easiest boss in the series. Even an average player(like me) can beat him with their eyes closed and take no damage. The devil-like form of Sigma at the end of X8's probably my favourite form. I'm quite keen on the shield sigma(though I don't see the similarity to Captain America, outside of the shield). That he has his own buster's a nice touch. The gigantic one in X7 that punches you is neat too, as is the version with the rifle in that game.
I can't believe death sigma made it so high on the list. The fight was so easy i can beat it with my eyes closed, and have done just that. Also it takes so long to complete, or even to die to. I intentionally died to him several times to grind for sub tanks and it takes an entire minute to die to him as zero
I love his X8 form! I call it “Fallen Sigma” to keep the Christian themes of X8 and because I never found an official name for it. He looks so unsettling and twisted, especially when in his throne. The shot of him holding your character in the Hard mode Cutscene is especially cool. Thank Goodness Zero can use that awesome Sword as well!
I always thought it was super weird that Sigma was so invested in his dog that his final form in the first game even looks like it, and then it's NEVER brought up again.
Reaper Sigma is the worst Sigma fight in the series. It's just using the fire weapon twice when he appears over your head to make him disappear and then jumping up the wall to avoid his rush attack. He generally sucks. Also no, you can't use other weapons, not even the Buster. The bastard is immune to them. You have to use fire.
I actually hated most of the bosses for similar reasons. If you have their weakness it's just hit, reset, hit, reset, etc. Super tedious. The weakness obviously makes every MM boss easier, but usually it also makes it 1) fast, and 2) sometimes they can still get hits in if you're sloppy. X4 they were all just tedious.
Personally, my favorite Sigma will always be the nasty, demonic, falling-apart form he has in X8. He just looks so delightfully evil, and yet you can see he's on his last legs (ultimately being replaced as the final boss for the first time in the series!). It was the perfect sendoff for someone who's been a pest since the start. Second would probably be X6's "Hobo Sigma" (more of a zombie Sigma imo) just because he's hilarious
Design wise, it looks alot like the sazabi from gundam. It wouldn't be the first time they ripped off gundam. All of mega man x's armors are literally in rx78 colors, have v fins and the ultimate armor is literally just the zeta gundam. Also sniper joe is a zaku, x5's plot is literally just chars counterattack, and x4 is just the plot of zeta.
It's not known why Sigma's final X5 form is just a JPEG. Either budgetary problems or the hardware limitations gave them issues. It should be noted he's now an actual animated background in Mega Man X Dive. Still, it's a shame his final form in X5 lost a major amount of story significance. It was originally supposed to be his truly final body.
My problem with Kaiser Sigma is not his hitbox, but the fact that if you learn to hit it, he doesn't have like double HP or so, like the other Sigma final forms. He dies pretty quickly and is overall too easy
Wolverine Sigma using the weapon he was weak to a game ago was a very nice touch. I never understood why Zombie Sigma had a broken body and talked like that. The body doesn't look like any other before it so he wasn't found that way. His personality lives through the virus, and it can take over everything, or even talk without a body (as it does in the MMX post credit secret scene). The whole thing makes no sense.
2nd comment: Wolf Sigma is one of the best final Sigma forms IMO. Could be even better honestly, if they made him lose 2 HP from hypercharged Shots and just 1 HP from Rolling Shield. Would have been a bit more... balanced. But it's not bad, I just love beating him with the hypercharged beam. Makes him even more difficult. Also Lumine is more Sigma than Sigmas dog XD he even contains Sigmas DNA code. Just like all other Mavericks from X8 (not that I hoped for them in this video). Also also, you should play Marvel VS Capcom infinite. I know it's a fighting game, I don't like them either. But Megaman X and Zero are there and Sigma is the final boss (kind of)!
Unironically X and Zero are the best written characters when it comes to being faithful to their sources. I don't think buying Infinite for just the story mode and Tooter will likely get stuck multiple times, so it would be better for him to just react to the story haha. I would love for this to be a donation goal of some kind.
The Sigma boss fights I'd have at the bottom are X7 giant body, Kaiser Sigma (annoying and deceptive hit box), Zombie X6 (though it's justified in-universe), and X5 first battle (intentional on Sigma's part).
X3 Zigma if you know a place to release the charge shot , he isnt hard as he look. . Just shoot at the 2nd stripe from the top of the wall in boss room . Guarantee hit foe every charge shot. 😁👍🏻
@5:30 What does it say that Tooterp thinks Grim Reapers look like "Rescue Heroes"? (Yes, I almost missed the joke. Sometimes, I'm thick. In the bad way. XP)
I'd disagree, the 2nd form of Sigma in X4 is one of the better fights. Yuck @x7 having anything better than X4 MMMM X2 Sigma Wolverine is the best one by far. Death Sigma is cool looking but that fight is ass, should be much lower. X1 Sigma fight is basic AF doesn't deserve the top spot "If you just go up the wall" like, how else are you supposed to fight it?
