Its actually really hard to get the kids to earn the reward traits in Parenthood though. Getting the bar all the way down/up is soo frustrating sometimes
I'd probably place Cottage Living in Intermediate simply because of the farm animals & getting giant crops. I've lost count on how many times my chickens threatened to run away or how fast cows & llamas get dirty 😅
It also takes a lot of fetch quests to get the upgrade parts for your pens. Winning at the fair is also pretty hard. While I have won with pies, I have never won for a giant crop. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I have won with livestock. And the standing around for hours just to see if you've won is hard as well because you're neglecting everything else you need to be doing on a daily basis.
@@tinapatterson9234 I agree! The only time I've ever won a livestock competition was when I got a hatchable golden egg when dumpster diving. Pure luck. That said, you can go home and they'll send your item and prize to your inventory - aside from the loading screens, I haven't found it to be super time-consuming
I would argue Snowy Escape is intermediate, because of the climbing the mountain quest thing. Since you can die from it if you don’t have a high enough rock climbing skill, and you have to prepare well.
I think Cottage Living is really hard, I can't handle taking care of crops, chickens, llamas and cows everyday, the animals are very needy and after all that hard work they die because of a glitch that makes them die even if you turn their aging off
I actually find seasons with thunder storms and blizzards turned on to be somewhat difficult. My sims seem to spend 3 days a week terrified of going outside and running around in weird ways and you can't get anything done. The other one that presents unexpected challenges is tiny living. The bonuses to moods on tiny lots, mean you have to keep a close eye on your sims so they don't die from Hysteria. That has caught me off guard twice.
I 100% agree with you on University. I just recently decided to revisit it and ended up cheating my sims needs because it was just not possible to so ANYTHING without my sim peeing himself or pass out. I mean university in real life is kinda hard to but tbh I‘ve never fell asleep in the middle of campus after doing my 6 daily hours of homework (which is just RIDICULOUS)
I honestly like Bust the Dust now, since they've fixed it like 2-3 times already, your house don't get very dusty quickly unlike before, dust bunnies no longer appear that often, so it's not annoying and i'd say it's balanced now. I also love doing Laundry stuff, it's not that tedious/glitchy.
Ok, I am gonna disagree with you hard about Outdoor Retreat. it has THE hardest aspiration to complete AND the herbalism skill is way harder than you think when you add Seasons into the mix. The insect collection is hard because it's so random as to where they're located and some of them are really hard to see (dust mites at eventime).
Yeah some of the plants only show up in certain seasons so you can spend days going over the map only to learn it won't even be there for another 3 weeks...
I think the wedding stories pack should have used the debt system introduced in the University pack.I think it would have been interesting game mechanics if sims had to go into debt to have their dream wedding
Outdoor Retreat is definitely one of the hardest packs. The ingredients for the herbalism recipes are not easy to find. The insects in particular are super difficult to spot, and most of them only spawn at certain times of day. Even with a guide to their likely spawn points, it can be a headache to find the insect that you need.
am i the only one who literally had to turn off the environment system because ALL of my words were turning smoggy from my super detailed builds having a bunch of random industrial footprint items??? even the mf magic realm was polluted and i felt so bad that i turned it off LMAO
In defense of Parenthood gameplay. Right now I have a family of werewolves and I made a point of not controlling the children/toddlers/teens at all. Only using the influence option and since it's a bunch of kids, it is bloody hard! I've only made them go to bed controlling them like 4 times because it glitches for some reason but not all the time. Needless to say, they NEVER do their homework lol
I feel like realm of magic is easy because of the potion of plentiful needs. you can make it straight away and it makes it so you can just grind out the rest of the xp you need without worrying about needs
If you have Magic Realms and your spell caster made a load of potions of fulfilled needs, exploring the jungle gets somewhat easier. Also, having better skills when you start your journey do help a lot.
For the longest time i wanted laundry in the sims.... and now im eating my words lol. I never ever use the laundry system. Either i totally forget or cant be bothered. I tried a decade challenge and it really rested my patience.
discover university is one of the easiest packs for me, its all very repetitive, you just need a good routine and getting straight As is a piece of cake. unless game screwes you over by making you go to a different building for each class and you just cant physically get there in time because bikes are useless because there are stairs everywhere UGH (robots are way too hard to make tbh)
I'm watching this as I'm trying to make my sims graduate from College, it's so difficult yet so entertaining, obviously making your sims a genius and loving books makes it easier lol, I learn a lot from your vids, thank you!
Id put cottage living as harder personally - depending how you play it. Playing on a simple living and off the grid lot, as a farmer with a family to take care of can be extremely challenging, if the animals or gardening are your only source of income. Juggling keeping animals happy and growing a garden with no skills to start while keeping infants and toddlers alive is a challenge! There are days where I’m selling furniture to buy food or pay bills lol
First, Realm of Magic is much easier than Werewolf and Vampire. Second, I'd say that spa is intermediate. The aspirations are not so easy. Third, Highschool Years aspirations are actually quite hard. Forth, City Living is intermediate in my opinion. Aspirations are not easy, some are hard and you need to travel to the city regularly.
I agree on all, except cottage living, the foxes stalking the chickens and how needy the cows are is pretty challenging! I also am glad I held off on getting bust the dust LOL
actually, having an entire farm with cows and chickens and everything is pretty difficult if you want all your animals to happy. & it’s a good way to make money but it takes some time. it should be a bit higher up
The first time I played with jungle adventure, my sim died on the way home after completing the temple. He chose to swim though a part instead of waking & died from exhaustion. Then the first time I played though the story of strangerville, I had a one sim house hold & she died to the mother plant. I was so glad I didn't save so I could just go back in time. I have found it hard to make really evil children though parenthood. Manners is really easy to raise, but I always have trouble with the opposite as well as the other ones.
All you have to do is continually use the computer and search for information about vampires until you rank up it works even though it tells you there's nothing else to learn and it only takes a little over a day
This is VERY accurate! I can’t get my sim to graduate without cheating their needs to perfect all the time and only letting them sleep for 0.25 seconds! Especially with the academic aspiration needing you to go to all the lectures and do research and debate oh my goodness! But it pays off, I was making 5k a day as a doctor.
I wouldn't have put city living in the 'super easy' as it comes with careers in it that take quite some time and commitment to reach the top of, Parenthood also i would have put higher up as it is SO very hard to get all of the kids emotional scale things either all 5 completly to green for the positive adult emotions or fully all 5 into red for the negative adult traits. Intersting video tho ♥
The one aspiration in Spa day is annoying. You can't get uncomfortable/ sad/angry/tense for 48 hours. I tried to make my sim meditate for 48hours. I had to make him take paid time off from work. It seemed to be going well at first, but another sim caused a fire and my sims got tense, so he had to start from the beginning again 🤪🤪🤪
I’ve decided to do the legacy and berry challenges with a double twist, 1 pack at a time and decade from year 1900 ish (mods needed). I might throw in another challenge for the heck of it, but a really hard one… Any suggestions? This’ll be after I get the kits. My pc can’t handle the 100 baby one.
They shouldn’t of added cheats for skills cause you couldn’t cheat your way out in sims 3 which made it more fun then just giving your sims max skills at the start
I don't agree about anything being THAT hard LOL! laundry isn't hard at all, and I don't really have huge problems with University either, it's hard but like in a good way! (Bust the Dust I will never have in my game)
I would say in the sims 4 most of the "hard" gameplay isnt hard, just time consuming. I feel like managing a celebrity in sims 1 was hard and in the sims 4 i feel like its easy its just repetitive and time consuming to reach the top.
I actually prefer the game to be easy going and not stressful like the sims 1 was to me but i wish it wasnt so repetitive and bland. I still like the game just wish it was a bit different
Does anyone else have the opposite problem with the bust the dust kit like since I've had it I've never had any dust in my sims house whatsoever and I play the Sims a lot lmao. It feels like I don't even have the kit apart from the fact that I can use the vaccum as a decorational item 😂
That's probably because it's bugged. There's an ongoing bug where the options in your setting won't work even when you toggle it. So things like wants and fears not turning off, animals aging and in your case the dust system. I have my animals aging off and they still die and same as you, I'm not getting any dust either.
I have to admit, I think I got most of the packs.. And uhm the base game is broken, that I literally broke my game with all the mods 😅… and lately with all the EA updates I just gave up on the sims 😂😂😂… Just building houses and wishing and hoping my laptop will survive until Black Friday😂
