Best: SMG 08 because you can meme a lot of people and win vs almost anything at close range. Worst. RSC because i can't aim and do not like reloading every 1 second.

In my opinion the Annihilator Trench/Storm is the best weapon for assault, i have 300+ kills with it (3 service stars) It does decent damage, it has a really high rate of fire, a decent 20 round magazine and controllable recoil

The maschinenpistole is just an example of how to not nerf a gun. Dice Could reduce fire rate or increase recoil or balance it out by slightly decreasing fire rate (to 1000 rpm or so) and slightly increasing recoil. They decided to reduce fire rate AND increase recoil. Now the automatico has the same fire rate and better recoil stats.... on the factory variant... and the maschinenpistole is supossed to be a storm variant....

Fun fact, the Annihilator was the first weapon in the world to be refered to as a submachine gun, though it was not the first to fit the definition.

To be honest, I like the RSC I can get a good amount of kills with it every time I use it, so therefore I think it’s an alright fun, but I do agree with how crappy the ammo is.

Well, the Thompson is pretty damn strong, I'd run on incredible kill sprees which I can't make with any other gun, it also has insane hip fire

The MP18 is actually slept on, insane hip fire accuracy, can be reliably tap fired, little recoil, and one of the better traits of being able to kill several opponents before having to reload. Can consistently get hip fire headshots while strafing, the only time this weapon lets you down is direct point blank range, however this can be easily compensated with a heavy melee weapon, 2 taps and a melee is all it takes

Personally, the RSC SMG is one of my favourites, I tend to do really well with it, but I can see why others dislike it

A pretty fair list. I think Battlefield is balanced well in that the "Best" weapon really depends on the situation. Ribeyerolles is definitely the most versatile but it won't beat the automatico in a close range fight. My three most used assault weapons that aren't shotguns are MP18, Ribeyerolles, and the Carbine. The carbine isn't really an SMG but I really like it and think it's really underused on the battlefield. Hardly ever see anyone with it

rsc smg actually has pretty impressive range and it`s more satysfying than other smgs because it`s challenging. besides that it looks nice imo.

Honestly, the experimental P12/16 is quite good. In my opinion, the burst function makes it more controllable

I really like the machinenpistole experimental, easy to control, and with two bullets coming frequently it can be a beast at close and mid range in my opinion. (Also i still think the hellriegel is easy kills lol.) And i felt like the smg 08 was at least unique before the TTK 2.0, and i would rather like to see am increased damage per shot to buff it. Just feels like a mediocre spray and pray weapon now. Anyways, i mostly agree with your picks, the ribeyrolles is awesome!

Well the Automatico is the weapon i have the most kills, it's 125 kills. It's not too much because i only started playing BF1 recently. I only have problems finding Brazilian operations servers so i play mostly on American and German servers.

I personally enjoyed using the rsc for very specific purposes, I liked it for 1v1s in trenches and bunkers, and also for just taking potshots at people from far off, it definitely isn’t the best though Edit: I’d like to add that I didn’t really play too much assault class so I don’t have the most reliable opinion

Using the Ribeyrolles 1918 Optical makes me say “wow” every time I play with it, it’s just the best.

For me MP 18 trench is one of the best SMG in battlefield. I started playing online like yesterday but i sued some SMG's in single player. MP18 my favourite

I would have ranked the mp 18 as number one because It is my most used weapon overall and I find it quite effective.

I thought the ribeyrolles was more of an assault rifle than a smg

The machine pistol experimental is in my opinion very underrated. For some reason I always perform well with it

My thoughts on each SMG... RSC: Though I understand why many hate it but I found it's best to treat it like a Medic rifle rather than an SMG Machinenpistole: The Storm variant is ok but the experimental is hands down one of my favorite assault weapons due to it being good at all ranges Automatico: Pretty good all around especially on maps like Argonne and Vaux Annihilator: Pretty much an Automatico Trench 2.0 MP18: Meh, don't really care for it Hellreigel: I'm with you on the recoil, it's actually pretty bad if you ask me. Everyone says the recoil is amazing but I can't hit anything for the life of me with that thing. I don't know if it's cause I play on XBOX or if I'm just a fucking idiot SMG 08: I hate this gun. It's nothing more than a shell of it's former self. Many say the original 08 was trash but I can agree with a good chunk of the community that the old 08 was far better. Way to water down the assault class DICE! Ribeyrolles: Agreed, hands down one of the best assault weapons in the game

How the pre-patch Maschinenpistole works for the enemy: You’re always the first person in his line of sight, and your teammate is always the one to pick him off after he wastes all 16 rounds on you.

Just unlocked the RSC SMG today, it really depends on the map, in close quarters you win almost every 1v1, in Rush on Verdun for example, when attacking the last B telegraph, you can sometimes sneak into the bunker and destroy the enemy team with a good secondary and some Dynamite. In close quarters maps it's the best Smg, I performed better with it than with the other SMGs. In long ranges, its trash. Tapfire is also okay, but ofcourse it looses out to almost anything in the open field. Still, I love the gun, but it is very personal preference.

I'm late to the party but im still gonna say it, the RSC is awesome. Just remember you can change the fire mode to be more precise and manage your rounds outside CQB, 5 bullet kill maximum(best in assault), amazing bullet velocity for assault aaaaand really good CQB. If we're talking 1v1s its the best, but I'd agree for multiple targets others are better, but still doable with rsc + decent sidearm + dynamite

I don't see the Ribeyrolles as an smg for some reason I take it for an assault rifle.

I love tbag for his ranking videos, 1. He sounds like a die hard, battlefield player when talking stats, which I thinks is cool, 2. I think he helps me a bit in playing battlefield 1 and 5, as I am at a usual death/kill ratio with deaths prevailing, but I have had a few good rounds tho.

I would say that the maschinenpistole storm is the worde than the rsc smg because the rsc can at least hit something at range. The reload for the maschinenpistole is also far worse and with its high rate of fire you have to reload half of the time you play with it.

This is why BF1 is so good, has such impractical weapons, but thats what makes it better than most games.

RSC is a skill canon

The RCS isn’t bad, it just as a learning curve so high that only like 3 people are able to master it.

I love using the MP-18 when I do a challenge where I have to use a gas mask for a whole game

Um...the maschinenpistole experimental is one of the best smgs's, if not gun in general in the game. It wrecks in close quarters and you can snipe people with it. I've killed people with it out to 80 meters. It's definitely way better than the storm.

I knew it that the RSC is going to be down the ladder, but I actually like it. True, one man one mag is the usage, but it clicks with me way better than the automatico or the smg 08 for example

There is some things you cannot do : like murdering a child or a cat, robbing an old lady but you cannot send the hellriegel in the bottom of the classement

Me personally I like the RSC SMG cuz it has good range and no I’m not lie ing and it has 9 bullets not 8 🤦‍♂️ I use it as a semi rifle but on close range I use it as a smg

Fact: the anialator (I don't think I spelled it right) was the original version of the thompson smg, but because oof the end of the war it I never got to be used and it stayed as a prototype until the thompson came along. Just letting you know
