You forgot the Movie Shadow Jumpball. I know it was mainly Sonic themed jumpballs, but you did mention Shadow Generations. And that movie skin comes with the digital DX version.

Sonic Unleashed plus Sonic Generations basically perfected the look of the jumpball for me, you can very clearly see Sonic prepare for a jump, curling up in the air, and spinning so fast that you see this rotating blue streak around his body that follows the direction he's facing, it has a little glow that doesn't completely obscure Sonic, it's consistent, and it just looks cool as hell... i REALLY wished they kept that one instead of simplifying it in Lost World and forces, but eh what're you gonna do?
@@leonardowynnwidodo9704 perhaps it's best the fans speak for themselves, if there's enough out cry for them to bring that kind of jumpball back in the next game, they might just do it... although... it's very silly thinking that people would be vocal enough to complain about this so i don't think it's happening any time soon, for now we'll have to stick with the Forces jumpball
I'm glad they're bringing the movie jumpball in Generations remaster. It's a perfect modern rendition to the classic spin attack you see in some animations like the CD cutscene. Plus, it would make sense for Sonic to curl up into an actual spiky ball rather than having him spin in the air with a blue aura around him because, ya know, he's a hedgehog
The thumbnail had me scared there for a moment but the Adventure 1 jumpball was ultimately put in S tier where it belongs. I will glaze that game’s jumpball till the end of time 🙏
Funny thing about the Adventure 1 jumpball... In the DX version, despise using different charmodels, the jumpball is still the same as the Dreamcast one and still represents Sonic's Dreamcast model instead of the updated one.
I can’t thank you enough for ranking every spin jump and I absolutely agree with you on the Unleashed/Generations jump. That variety defines Modern Sonic very well. On the other hand, the Forces/Frontiers are very simple, even a child can draw that spin jump. On top of that, I’m so mad that the developers of Shadow Generations are using Forces animations, including the spin jump, even though it’s bundled with a remaster of Sonic Generations. So I’m starting a petition to bring back the Unleashed/Generations animations and movesets for future games
i actually quite like his jumpball in forces/frontiers, granted it is just a glowing orb with sawblades but i think it looks pretty cool, though i can understand there was a certain charm to how prominent sonic himself was visible in it
I really like SA2s jumpball it feels like it has more soul than the other games and it also feels like a more polished more realistic version of it! You can literally feel him jump in and out of it
To add to this, as his jump ball speeds up (during a homing attack) it actually looks more like adventure ones or another games! Watch a play through of SA2 sonic missions and you’ll see
I know this ones wasn't even in the final game but the beta unleashed jumpball for me is one of the best, simple but effective (and I like it more than the final unleashed/gens one).
I absolutely love Heroes jump. Not only the aura and the spin look nice what I adore is how the characters actually turn into balls. Instead of being in balls right off the bat they have animations of turning into balls.
I like when the jump balls aren't solid spheres and when the aura isn't so much you can barely see Sonic in it. Actually, I dislike the aura, kinda makes no real sense to me, but to each their own. Fav has gotta be either Advance or Superstars, they nail it perfectly. Would say the same for Adventure though, at least the sphere has the shoe texture.
I honestly have a soft spot for the forces jump ball. I like how it has a very pronounced buzz effect. It’s almost like a modernized take on the buzz, saw animation he has in AOSTH & SATAM

Even visually why does everyone hate the forces jump ball so badly it's ine of the best looking jump ball in the series 😢😢 even visually looks good aswell! This shit looks better than unleashed/generations' jump ball visually.

hot take, but i love the forces/frontiers jumpball. it’s by far the most unique, and the little scratches that change every jump along with the squetch implementation is nice to see. it feels like a modern interpretation of what classic sonic aimed to be. i especially like how it glows, it really accentuates sonic’s power(?) also i’m sorry but adventure’s is so ugly, it’s so blurry and the texture looks so smeared and gross 😭
I don't like how he instantly turns into a ball. He should defininitely have a curling up animation in the new games. Also it kind of takes you out of the realistic immersion of Frontiers. What, is he curling at supersonic speed?
I think sonic lost world’s jump ball fits either way the cartoonyness of the game’s art style, but forces and frontiers are going for a more realistic look and in those games it doesn’t fit
Stop hating on the forces jumpball. Everyone says forces is a bad game in every single aspect. It’s not though, and I actually believe the jumpball is kinda good. Like you said, it’s spiky, giving it a nice look. But it doesn’t deserve an F. It glows too, making it bright and easy to see if your in dark places (if there are any dark places in forces). Plus, if you think about it, it sort of looks like the classic games/heroes if you want to go as far as that. So please, just give some respect to the jumpball.
