Fun fact, off handing the lucky dagger while you have Mehrune's razor in your main hand actually adds the crit chance modifier to the insta kill effect
Do you have any proof for this? I've read this a couple of times on Reddit and any proof was just safe scumming for lucky kills. Never worked for me. Odds seemed the same.
They are 100% in the second group for me. I get annoyed at constantly recharging enchanted items so I just oversmith something and use it unenchanted. The longhammer is nice though.
@@Justanotherconsumer you don't need to recharge. Just enchant your gear with -100% destruction and you are good to go. Also if you do the azura questline for the black star its easy to recharge any gear free of charge. You get so many grand soul gem in the late game anyways, i usually enchant my expensive jewelry and sell them for money.
@@gabbonoo Daggers have the lowest range at 0,7 units, one handed weapons have a range unit of 1 and two handed weapon have a reach of 1,3 There are exceptions, some weapons have slightly more range or speed than others in the same class but that is the gist of it
@@joedarby4596 If only the Rueful Axe had a HIGH and I’m mean HIGH based damage, say two dragon bone war hammers combined. Guards do say “that blade looks sharp even to cut through a god.”
Pro tip: Don't use Mehrune's Razor against the Ebony Warrior. He has the reflect blows perk from the heavy armor tree and the instant death effect can be reflected.
"reflect" copies the initial snapshot damage on epcalcuation. then after the swing damage is dealt, the "reflect" damage is dealt they really should have called it thorns. reflect makes me think of the attack bouncing off and hitting the aggressor, not dealing back what is already taken. i dont know if "reflect" works on the scriped kill from Mehrunes, not that it matters since Merunes razor is it has 1.98% chance and it doesnt scale well with smithing lower than 100. 2% kill chance is worse than any scalable damage over 1% even if it takes you 50 hits to kill something cos it's unreliable.
10:15 misconception about the blade, you don’t need to kill followers to increase its power, you just need to kill anyone that LIKES your character : this includes many smaller characters that you’ve done favors for: like beggars that you’ve given a gold piece, and farmers that you’ve given crops. With that knowledge in mind, finding the ten people that can fill the blades power isn’t too hard Edit: There’s a lot of characters that are also “destined to die” that make great sacrifices as long as you’ve done favors for them beforehand (like a few people that end up being targets for the dark brotherhood, Ja-ree and his sister Deja, Severus Pelagio, and a few more I haven’t mentioned)
And you can just give 1 gold to a beggar and use the necromancer standing stone to continuously raise them. Like Degaine in Markarth are always talking shit...
If youre an orc its also incredibly easy as all orcs in orc strongholds immediately count as "liking" you. Just go slaughter everyone in an orc stronghold and your ebony blade should be maxed out. When maxed out tho? It SHITS on 99% of the weapons in this game. Absord 40 health on hit with dagger attack speed on a two-handed weapon? Shits insane.
@@goblinganggaming680 i just commented about the orc village method to someone else lol. There's 1 prob with the weapon tho, it's considered a 1 handed sword. Yet it doesnt benefit from either 1/2h perks. I dont remember being able to upgrade it myself either, could be wrong tho
Minimize your guilt in leveling the Ebony Blade by taking one follower with you to the Ritual Stone (east of Whiterun). Activate the stone, kill follower with the blade, use stone power to ressurect body, kill, wait 24 hours, ressurect body again, rinse, repeat . Bodies ressurected with the Ritual Stone do not turn to ash when killed, so the process can be repeated over and over with just a single follower until the Ebony Blade is max leveled.
This is hard because if you have a decently levelled two handed tree, you almost always take the followers head off when you kill them, thus preventing the loop hole from working😢
Yeah i didnt know people were unaware of this. My first playthrough of Dawnguard i put 2 and 2 together and found this out. Also with the blood arrows you can shoot it at the sun to turn it dim if you are a vampire and dont wanna be weakened in the sunlight
Due to a developer oversight, Bloodskal Blade's special attack can be triggered while in the Ethereal state (from the Become Ethereal Shout). Which means you can blast through enemies while remaining 100% impervious to damage yourself.
On top of that when using the Become Ethereal Shout you don’t use any stamina. So as long as you don’t hit anyone with the Blade itself you can spam the sword beam until the shouts effects end.
Nettlebane should do extreme damage to all Spriggans, Wood Elves, Werebeasts, and animals imo. They should've literally made it the bane of all things tied to nature in general.
@namor3607 And? it's function of a weapon so steeped with a hatred for nature is only shown via scripted game events. If it just had something like a "deals extra damage to animals and spriggans" would show why the followers of kynareth hate it but also make it useful for a few more levels.
@@namor3607 Most Deadric artifacts are essentially quest items, but they still have use after the quest is complete. It wouldn't of hurt anything to have Nettlebane have a unique enchant on it. Plenty of lesser regarded items have unique effects.
Ysgramor's city, Saarthal, was massacred by Mer. He brought back people from his homeland to take back the City and establish humans on Tamriel. His axe's enchantment is more pragmatic than it is racist.
Also, the dumner in windhelm are incredibly racist themselves. Even the local altmer and a few non racist dumner call them out for never contributing to windhelm yet complaining that they are treated like royalty. Just read dunmer of skyrim to see what their general consensus is. Meanwhile there are like 3 racist nords in the entire city. Riften is better because the dunmer there actually integrated with society
@@lancekemal8989 neither do the dunmer. They’ve actually done worse than the high elves. But we are talking about individuals of a race, not races as a whole.
I think the snow elves somehow found out there's a magnus eye inside and i don't know for what reason (maybe they're attracted to it, just like arcano, goes on a rampage) starts a massacre to the nords. Ysgramor then bringa back thousands of his army from atmora and that's the end of the snow elves
@@valentinee500 Definitely, high base damage, higher upgrade potential, better enchantment imo, and i think the enchantment lasts longer before recharge too. Only downside is being a leveled weapon with a max of 46. I usually remove that with mods tho. Miraaks sword should be higher too, as without creation club, and at its highest leveled weapon status (which is 60 holy shit way too high), it is the highest dps one handed sword in the game with a base damage of 16. Chillrend being 15, and daedric sword and Nightingale being 14.
Bro talking mad shit about Ysgrammor but forgetting that the Snow Elves exterminated a village full of women and children to steal the Eye of Magnus, a relic capable of ending the world and forcing the survivors (Ysgrammor among them) back to Atmorra. At that point, I don't think you're allowed to play the racism card.
tbh it's not even the nords being racist at all it's the nords being right about who to defend themselves from. Elves literally believe they were going to be immortal until lorkhan (shor) decided to make men and nirn and "tricked" (he just asked him to) Auriel into helping to make men. This took away some power from Auriel and as a result the elves he created before lost their immortality, but nirn and men were created. What this means for the current year in the game is that 1) the elves are the ones racist against non-elves and they literally blame them for elves not being immortal, and ultimately the thalmor's goal is to end the world itself because they think if they can unmake nirn, they might get their immortality back. 2) the nords' hatred for elves ONLY extends to the point that they are being hated on first, and have been forced to defend themselves from elves ever since the dawn of their race
@@jansonshrock2859Hit the nail on the head. Elves in the Elder Scrolls series are the literal worst. While individuals would vary (as they always do), their culture and ideologies are wrong at best, evil at worst. Dark Elves are the only race that practices slavery. Wood Elves are literal cannibals (and before anyone brings up the Green Pact, they could limit their meat intake to animals. Instead, they choose to eat people. Read "A Dance in Fire", where they literally serve up visiting Imperials as the main course of their feast. Yeah, they don't wait until they die natural deaths, they just STRAIGHT UP kill them and eat them. For a feast. That means EVERYONE in the town/city was involved with this). Finally, the High Elves are exactly what you describe them as. Genocidal supremacists, with their heads so far up their own asses, they believe they were divine and blame Lorkhan for being mortal. The Orcs are the only race of Elves that are, at the very least, respectable, even if their culture is a bit primitive. At the very least, Orcs are willing to coexist and be civil with others if one can earn their trust.
You can get a second Dawn Breaker by using the Unrelenting Force shout when it's on its pedestal, before you pick it up. The copy will appear on the ground. It works about half of the time for me, so I don't know if there's any other trick to make it happen every time. Maybe a save or something? You killed my wife with the Long Hammer lol.
For the Ebony Blade, use a mod that allows you to recruit anyone as a follower, locate the ritual stone if you haven't already, get Nazeem to follow you, go to the ritual stone, dismiss Nazeem, kill him, resurrect him, kill him again, wait twenty four hours in-game, rinse and repeat until Mephala tells you it's finished
@@DSG-farts-connoisseurof course it is. The irregular cadence of speech and the copious amounts of mispronunciations give it away. It's a good AI voiceover but still an AI voiceover.
One thing I realised is that all these unique weapons are really good for early to mid game. In late game, using proper high level enchantments on even a wooden sword will outperform even the best of these uniques. Similarly I advise new players to lay off leveling up their enchantment until latter on if you want a diverse gameplay experience.
Enchantment is so critical in legendary mode though, else every fight is gonna take forever. You can easily increase your One handed or two handed by like 100% with a few grand soul for your necklace and armor pieces. They go hand to hand with smithing and can help you makes some quick cash too. Basically leveling 3 stats at once(speech, smithing and enchanting). Also do alchemy for enchanting potions and smithing potions too . Need to do potions for resist magic anyways so you don't have to use enchantment slot on them imo
I’m surprised by the C Tier Harkons sword, personally I’d say it’s one of the best swords in the game, plus who doesn’t wanna be a vampire, they’re really cool
Whats even better is that windshear is a weapon that doesn't even need soul gems! I always get it around level 25 and keep it throughout the entire play through
Got a bone to pick about Volendrung. Should be at least A tier. The 50 Points of stamina every hit is no joke. Nearly endless power attacks? Sprintlock an enemy and spam the sprint power attack with a fully charged Volendrung and you'll melt nearly anything.
Morrowind had the best uniques Hard to find and get as well I used to spend hours levitating around inside daedric ruins, checking around the ceiling for nooks that almost always had an interesting item That was such a great game. I'd love to see a proper remaster done, keeping all the same items, same old spell crafting+skill system but overhauling combat away from a dice-roll.
Silent Moons enchantment has a weird bug. It slows things with higher attack speeds (Like Dual Flurry) to crazy levels. Smack a forsworn that is using two swords and it gets comical
If you plan on doing the Dark Brotherhood quest line but are generally reluctant to kill people not related to that quest line, wait until you get the Ebony Blade AND a reanimation staff and then go kill Narfi BEFORE getting his associated Contract quest. Make sure you do his quest searching for his sister or give him a Septim to befriend him before killing him. Then kill him with the Ebony Blade, revive him with the staff (if you use reanimation spells instead of the staff, his corpse will disintegrate), kill the reanimated corpse with the Ebony Blade, and just repeat the process over and over until the Ebony Blade is maxed. Besides Narfi, you could do this with any non-essential NPC you don't particularly like but can still befriend. Just make sure whatever reanimation staff you use is not too weak to reanimate that particular NPC.
The Ebony Blade can actually reach max power by only killing one friendly NPC. You just need to use the Ritual Stone's daily power or the master raise dead spell (forgot it's name), and kill them again, then repeat the process. This works because those are the only two forms of the raise dead spell that don't turn the NPC affected to ash upon death. The Ebony Blade also has by far the fastest swing speed in the two-handed category, being on par with most one-handed swords and war axes. You can actually get two Blade of Woes. You can pickpocket one off of Astrid and then get the one that spawns on the floor next to her later on.
What about nerveshatter? I recently came across that spikey hammer and it’s super cool. Maybe not amazing but it looks awesome and it has some good enchants.
@@Kier4n99 Yeah yeah yeah, I had the slight impression that something is familliar, and it seems to me this AI youtuber plagiarized the videos of TheEpicNate315 which I used to watch 3-5 years ago and very much enjoyed. Daaamn son!
Volendrung has absolutely carried me through some difficult playthroughs, Being able to spam power attacks is really powerful, especially if you use the "Ordinator perk overhaul" and spec into warhammers. This was before I discovered the vegetable soup trick for infinite power attacks. Still my favourite weapon.
sadly stamina in this game is completely useless since you only need 1 stamina to power attack and the enemy seems to have infinite, though staggering them is quite nice. Only thing i find useful about leveling up stamina honestly for 5 more carry weight lol
bro i used to duel wield the Lucky Dagger and Merus Razor, having a weapon that has a chance to insta kill alongside a weapon that staggers enemies is extremely op!
I remember my first ever playthrough with Skyrim I was obsessed with finding good weapons as early as possible, Mehrunes razor was one of the ones I used ASAP until the end of the game because it was just a good weapon. Now here’s the kicker, I only had its instant kill effect proc on a few humanoid enemies, that was until the endgame, where I hit and kill Alduin in one hit. I was kinda confused like “that’s it..?” Until I remembered it was the dagger
HUGE tip for Ebony Blade: since nobody likes Cosnach (the follower), you can make him your follower, kill him, then keep using the Staff of Worms to bring him back so you can get all the kills to fully charge the blade. Also once charged, the blade never loses the charge
Dawnbreaker can also be duel wielded if you use a duplication glitch on it, giving you two very powerful undead slaying swords. And Auriel's Bow is always enjoyable to use. So many undead in Skyrim that any weapon that specializes in killing them make them much more valuable than most other weapons in the game.

no way you put bloodskaal blade in s tier solely because it creates energy blades from power attacks, that don't do much damage, but put soulrender and bloodscythe in a tier
In one of my playthroughs i played an assassin build with Valdr's and Mehrunes in each hand with Nightingale and Shrouded set parts and it was amazing , one of the most fun playthroughts i've played, yes that wepon is a hiden gem in fact , should be in B tier IMO and in certain builds like i said even A tier, like you said this wepon performs best in the off-hand.
Blasphemy! Chillrend is an S tier weapon. I will hear no other rating! Lol. Seriously any weapon that will a paralyze enchantment automatically needs to be in S tier. Lol. This was amazing. Thanks for posting. I’m really digging this channel so far. I’m glad I stumbled here.
There is a way to fully charge the Ebony Blade with a single life. Find a follower that you like the least (I recommend one of the mercs you can get from any of the inns) and lead them somewhere secluded. Kill them to gain a charge and the turn them into undead to kill them again which will give another charge. Normally corpses turn into ash when you make them undead except in one case, the Ritual Stone. Wait 24 hours > use ritual power > kill > repeat. Make sure to save before killing each time as doing the kill animation that decapitates the target makes them no longer resurrectable.
10:14 The ebony blade has a few variants that you can get randomly, and one of them makes enemies not count attacks from the ebony blade as an assault, meaning you won’t get fined for killing someone with it.
lunar weapons deserve to be higher. its really easy to just hit wait until nighttime, and it can do way more damage than a simple fire enchantment, as well as have more charges than a simple fire enchantment.
Ranged - Auriel's Bow (combat archer), Nightingale Bow (stealth archer) Two Handed - Ebony Blade, Champion's Cudgel One Handed - Nightingale Blade and Chillrend Dagger - Blade of Woe Since I play without enchanting smithing and alchemy, I usualy use unique weapons, and when ever I start a new playthrough, there is a high chance I will use one of these.
@@M4x_P0w3r About frost. DPS goes only from 130 to 115 in enemies that resist frost. About elemental fury. Yes, the longhammer is the best two handed weapon because of elemental fury, but elemental fury is a addon. @@LuizFelipe-fk6it yeah i just dual fury in the late game and one shot basically everything if i bother to pop a one handed potion for 120% increased damage along with my already insane 45%*4 from gear. Even the Sword and Shield playstyle is way better than two handed in my experience cause the block of shields is like 10x better and you can have more enchantment on yourself which is always better than missing 2 from your build cause you 2 handed a weapon
Fun fact: you don't have to kill any followers or befreinded NPCs to max level the Ebony blade, you can become a freind to the strongholds then slaughter like three or four, and seeing as some of the Orc strongholds are painfully generic I don't think most people will care about slaughtering a few
I'd argue the enchant effect of fiery souls makes it s+++ it's the best enchantment in the game 100%. Also you can give it million of charge and jt won't affect its damage apparently. Just how long you have b4 q soul suck. But being a melee just set it to 1 and have it do max damage with 500+ charge.
10:00 the crutch of this weapon can be circumvented by using the Dead Thrall spell on any one follower. If I'm not mistaken, you can do this with any fallen enemy to achieve the same effect as killing a follower.
I’m happy to see the razor to being an S-tier weapon. While some may have had no luck with the instant kill effect. Using it on legendary difficulty has made it much more useful. Even made a few videos on its potential.
I’ll never forget first time I ever played through Skyrim and getting the mace of molag bal. It became my main weapon all the way to end game and beyond.
My favorite: a simple dragonbone greatsword of legendary quality used with level 3 elemental fury, and you swing your greatsword faster than a dagger. great success!
I like you acknowledge ebony blade potential. Like, dps wise, it probably is the most powerful game in the whole game, but requires quite the grind, killing a ton of followers, most of them quite likeable and it has no special enchant.
I'm glad this is just his opinion. I've played this game for years, and I've made good use of some of the lower tier weapons. Some of the higher tier are pretty much useless.
I think the Notched Pickaxe's placement is fair but I also feel it's important to mention that you have to get to the throat of the world to even get it which means that it could easily be ignored if you've smithed enough before that point in the story
You disappoint me. You didn't even mention Windshear, the most useful sword in the game. Keep it charged, and *every* attack with it has a 100% chance to stagger, even against Alduin. It being one handed also means you can equip your favorite weapon in the other hand and smash face while you're at it. Literally stunlocks anyone until they die 😌
Finally a video where Longhammer is S tier I don't like using 2 handed weapons, but thanks to this hammer I can level up 2 hand skills faster like I use 1 hand weapon
I really like Zephyr, the bow you can get in Arkngthamz that belonged to the tragic ghost of Katria in the "Lost for the Ages" quest. It's speed is equal to Auriel's bow and doesn't require recharging. It's also a permanent weapon, so it won't disappear even if placed in a respawning container. I liked Katria and having a memento of her around is nice. The bow can be acquired before you even enter the Dawnguard DLC. Good to get early in the game and acquired early in a nice questline. It appears to be a Dwarven Bow and can be improved with that Smithing perk. While it looks Dwarven, it has damage equal to an Elven bow and its speed makes it a valuable weapon for any Archer based character. It's lighter than Auriel's Bow too.
