Ranking EVERY World in Metroid Prime Trilogy 

Waiting for Prime 2’s remaster-my personal favorite of the Trilogy

I'm actually a huge tallon overworld fan. The tallon revisited theme is my prime core memory for sure, and I think it's definitely the most peaceful area.

I hope they HD Remaster Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and Prime 3 Corruption someday.

That entire sanctuary fortress/ing hive area was so much fun. This was one of the reasons why Echoes is my favorite in the trilogy

Magmoor Caverns is the bottom of the pile for me because nothing interesting happens in it yet you have to pass through it like 6 times to beat the game.

Phendrana is slightly overrated imo Yes the music is godlike and the atmosphere is also great but the level design itself is kinda weak and short. Especially compared to other top contenders such as the sanctuary fortress, elysia, bryyo and the pirate homeworld.

The more familiar you get with Torvus Bog the better it becomes.

There is no such debate. Every area is special in its own way and I wouldn't want to miss a single one of it. Period and end of discussion. And Prime 2 is actually my absolute favorite of the entire series, not just the Prime trilogy.

Echoes is my fav game so I will say I think temple grounds deserves a bit more love, especially in its first parts where you are scanning all the trooper logs and you first encounter dark samus. It really sets the tone for the game and I like it a bit more than the frigate orpheon actually. Overall it isn't a bad list though, got me thinking about how well prime 3 nailed its worldbuilding. Also justice for great temple lol wasn't worth a specific entry I guess

It's probably due to playing order, but i really loved getting through Torvus bog. The first time i heard the underground soundtrack, i had no idea it was a remix of Super's low Brinstar theme. I was blown away by this rendition of the track, which remains my favorite one. Regular Torvus bog theme was also a certified banger. And since i really enjoyed the dark oppressing dark Aether areas, i guess the game really clicked with me. Definitely my fav of ghe trilogy, and fav Metroid game overall.

Interesting picks. Personally a big fan of the submerged Torvus Bog area outside of the mediocre boss, for me it has one of the most immense atmospheres the series has ever had.

Call me weird, i liked Agon Wastes. Especially when you consider that they used to be the Agon Plains where lush green fields of crop would nurture the Luminoth civilization.

Hey I thought we weren’t using that dumb old Prime 4 logo anymore now we have the real one! Also, damn you really hate Echoes. I used to be like you but when I replayed it in Trilogy years later I appreciated it a lot more including it’s environments

Prime 2 has more natural areas and I love it, agon wastes, torvus bog are very natural but have that awesome atmosphere, then you enter sanctuary fortress and it goes all mechanical, with a lot of digital elements, it feels like you really are in the far future, best area so far

I think sanctuary fortress is the best but phendrana drifts is cool too.

I like raven beaks sky palace/throne room, its sybolic of the hight samus has to climb to rise to the challenge, its hard to cap off such a legendary story but it was more than good enough, and the boss fight was amazing. In terms of immediate impact its the tallon overworld, after the theme music, and epic opening sequence you are treated to this new hostile world, and the music and rain on the gun ect is so ambient and immersive even today.

I disagree with your take on Dark Aether but I respect your opinion and I think I get your point. In my opinion these locations are all fantastic. Would make it really hard for me to rank them because I don't think any deserve to be at the bottom, but something has to go there.

What are the inconsistencies and logical fallicies with sanctuary fortress? I didn't notice any.

When releasing game-related content, I suggest capturing and uploading in 60fps. Retro Studios went to great lengths to target 60fps with all their games; viewing them in anything less looks cheap.

Elysia has never been high on my list. I think the Skytown is heavily overrated. What really is there than some Towers above the Cloud that are getting annoying to traverse through after a while. I'll take Bryyon over Elysia any day.

so,the submerged fregate,the temple and phendrana's late part aren't even mentionned after you still mention phendrana"s laboratories?those areas are quite different from the rest of their main areas and deserve adifferent ranking to be honest..to say bryyo is above so much is also quite ambitious,when the level design is actually having the same issues as magmoor caverns in term of corridors.there's barely more to do in it related to the area itself than the magmoor caverns. oh and you're not even mentionned the fortress of echoes?wtf?and as much as the impact crater area is small,its vibes it way more alien-like than the one of corruption.not mentionning the second part of torvus bog either?it's quite different from the first part of it too,and really shouldn't fit the same place,at all

My top 3 is very different Phazon Mines is definitely my fav region, Chozo ruins is second. Pirate homeworld is probably 3rd I never finished prime 2 so I’m not counting it, but even if I was I think my top 3 would be the same

Phazon mines and chozo ruins are master piece level. I love phendrana drifts but IMO it’s a no overrated I honestly think m I like taking overworks over phendrana drifts

Don't think you can really go wrong with any tier because the Prime games are, well, super subjective. There's not really a cut clear "general opinion" on most of these (sans a few like Phendrana Drifts). For me, it would be: SS= Temple Grounds / Sanctuary Fortress S= G.F.S Valhalla / Phendrana Drifts / Phazon Mines / Chozo Ruins / Tallon Overworld / Skytown A= Agon Wastes / Ing Hive / Sky Temple Grounds / Torvus Bog / Bryyo Cliffside / Pirate Homeworld B= Magmoor Caverns / Frigate Orpheon / Dark Agon Wastes / Dark Torvus Bog / Great Temple / Bryyo Fire / Bryyo Thorn Jungle / Norion / G.F.S Olympus / Sky Temple C = Impact Crater / Bryyo Ice (kinda unfair, honestly dk where to rate it) / Phaaze No D's, no E's. Everything's solid. Temple Grounds is actually genius design. Its like a pseudo-hubworld brim filled with lore and actual connection to the rest of the *entire game* that actually makes sense. Metroid Prime 1 has the best overall standalone level designs and Sanctuary Fortress is basically that but in overdrive. Skytown's high for me for its experience which is primarily the reason I play Metroid. Same with Valhalla, sheer extreme atmosphere. My appreciation for areas like Agon came later the more I found out what the area's truly about (as is the case with many areas, or concepts even, in MP2, hence why its my favorite of the three).

I don’t know if I would have separated the Dark Aether areas from the light ones. If I made this list I would have ranked them together because they are so interconnected. Cool video though. I’ve always thought about how I would rank the Prime areas. Would be cool to include Hunters and Fed Force because those have some cool areas.

I just completed my first playthrough of Prime 3 in over a decade or so, and I gotta say that Elysia really could've been a 10/10 area and my favorite area of the entire trilogy if it weren't for those damn ziplines. I remember them always being a pain in the ass as a kid, and they are still just as big of a pain in the ass now. Favorite area has still got to go to Phendrana for me. It helps that I already usually love snow-themed areas in games, and Phendrana Drifts just does it perfectly. Glacier One just drives this area to perfection. The lights going out after picking up the X-Ray Visor on a very first playthru is just perfection.

I think it really depends on what you value. For instance I think Bryyo should be bottom of the list because its lore or art doesn’t develop the Metroid series centrally or have anything to do with anything else. Being there felt like time waste of time and my imagination. That’s just one example though.

My top 2 are Phendrana drifts and Tallon overworld but I agree with a lot of this list. Prime 3 has some underrated locations and I 100% agree that a lot of prime 2’s locations were lame. Prime 2 is a great game but a lot of the areas look too much the same. The artifact hunt was a NIGHTMARE for me because I never knew where I was going in 2.

Personally I count the dark variants as part of their light variants (aka instead of light torvus and dark torvus I just count them both together as torvus). Definitely agree with the top 3.

I agree with the placement of Magmoor. For a heat-themed area, it definitely does feel undercooked, I remember hearing once that there was supposed to be a boss in the area and that would've been cool but overall it's pretty inoffensive. My first playthrough of the game, I felt like it was a hub of sorts since it had some of the most elevators in one place and they weren't too far apart either.

I never did like Prime 2's environments that much, excluding Sanctuary Fortress. Everything else felt so dull.

You make a video talking about every area thats been used in the metroid series. For example, every or most metroid games have a fire area since norfair in the original metroid with Fusion & Prime being the first one(s) to introduce the cold snowy area to the series.

God I would love to see Sanctuary Fortress remastered. Such a cool high tech fortress would look even more cool when it gets touched up on

NI completely agree with Phendrana drifts, like while I was in that area, it was the most immersed in a game I’ve ever been. Also in my opinion Chozo ruins should be lower, like I kind of hated that area. I haven’t played Pime 2 & 3 yet because I’m waiting to see if they’re going to be put on the switch, so I have no opinions on anything else. I do have both prime 2 & 3 though, I even just got the 3rd one yesterday just because it was cheap.

I recently put out a video on my channel about my issues with Echoes and it seems like a 50/50 split on how people feel about that game vs the others. But your takes are exactly the same as mine, I think the dark areas in Echoes are fairly weak and hold the game back from the other two. Your channel will grow fast dude, keep it up!

Magmoor caverns could have been so much better, i hoped in the remaster they would have added a scrapped boss like a cybernetic kraid. But all we got was a flaming hallway.
