CookOut...41 Milkshakes....and I have to drive 4 hours to get one.. Salisbury MD. Bonus points: Bible verses on each cup. Chick-Fil-a does make the BEST Lemonade--and the Sugar Free is to die for.
I heard there was a dude who made an app that was linked to McDonalds' database so you could see what McDonald's machines were working at any point in time.
only 3 steak n shake in DFW and two are terrible, wish they improved the brand but not looking good. Tye do have great shakes just super sweet like most end up being.
Continued this format? Sir you are mistaken. This is a brand new thing, in no way related to any "worshipping your hierarchy", "praise your preference", "hallelujah to your leaderboard", etc...
I'm thinking maybe that nickel taste you got from the Frosty might have been the aneurysm you gave yourself trying to drink a Frosty through a straw. LOL
A Frosty is a milkshake that waits until you finish the meal to be perfectly melted for drinking. It is a desert drink. You also must start with the straw at the outer edges. You don't start in the center.
DQ REALLY has no rules. My youngest always ordered a hot fudge sundae with no cherry, no nuts, no whipped cream, & no ice cream. 😂 Yes, she ordered a cup of hot fudge exactly that way. They loved her there.
That's a child after my heart 😂. I've been known to eat a can of hot fudge years ago when I was a kid with a metabolism. As a teen and a 20 something in the military, I'd do that because Mom wasn't around to tell me "no." 👍
Dairy Queen makes a real milkshake blending ice cream, milk, and chocolate sauce. It isn’t premade, and it’s better than any other than perhaps Sonic and Chik fil a
Thanks for the shout out about the death of Arby's potato cakes. My sisters and I still morn their loss. On the up side, the cafeteria at my cancer hospital serves an almost identical product. When I have to go in for scans, it is my treat at the end.
As someone who has worked at both Hardee's (we were handscooping in 2001) and Sonic, thank you for the representation! IMHO, Whataburger shakes are pretty high up there.
That nickle-taste from the Wendy’s Frosty is “edible”, food-grade grease for their machines. And it sometimes leaks into the frosties. My boss got food poisoning once from it and confronted them about it.
This is why I don't get milkshakes that come from dispenser machines. For me it should come together in a blender or a counter top stirrer. I don't like any kind of food that comes from a dispenser machine lol
Matt: _disses Arby’s for just putting chocolate syrup in their vanilla ice cream and calling it a chocolate milkshake_ Also Matt: “Chick-fil-A is the BEST” Chick-fil-A: _literally puts Hershey’s chocolate syrup in their vanilla ice cream and calls it a chocolate milk shake_ (Can’t complain tho it’s still delicious)
Steak and Shake should have been included too. I know you're doing chocolate shakes, but the peach milkshakes from Chick-fil-A are the best. I look forward to them every year.
An experience in revolting, yeah Mint makes my skin crawl and peppermint makes me want to vomit just from smelling it. I can't get it anywhere near my mouth.
This ranking is a blessing. Bless you for ranking these milkshakes. Bless your heart for.... IT IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE "BLESS YOUR RANK"!!! #FreeBlessYourRank
Chick-fil-A's peppermint milkshake *makes* Christmas time for me, and the banana pudding milkshake is absolute perfection. I'm simultaneously upset they are only seasonal, because I'd love to have them all the time, but glad they're seasonal, because I'd have them all the time (and I wouldn't care that I've turned into a Chick-fil-A version of Violet Beauregarde).
So happy this is back! You forgot to tell us the criteria though!! But hey maybe that's the difference between this show and something else we may or may not have watched you do. 😏 Thanks again Matt. And editing is on point for this!
That's just BK in general. No idea how they stay in business when their usual experience can be summed up as "occasionally tolerable if all the other fast food places are full".
I agree, I don't get why so many gets bk milkshakes. Especially, even though sonics food is trash also. There shakes are at least good and you get way more for the price. Also after 8pm. It's 50% off
He briefly discussed it in one of his more recent videos, but I agree with the original post. Have have actually unsubscribed from "the other company" because their content just isn't good without Matt.
@@arhodsden Yeah same here. They still have one really talented person left, last I saw, but it's not really enough to watch the channel anymore. There's only so much time in the day.
I worked at Hardees in Tennessee in 2005, everyone would come to the Hardees I worked at and requested me to make their milkshakes. I am very picky with my milkshakes and I made them to my standards unless otherwise specified and I like them thick enough to eat with a spoon but still able to drink them through a straw.
Yoohoo is, and I'm not kidding you; Just Syrup and Water, Get some Chocolate Syrup and Water, Mix it and drink it side by side with a Yoohoo to compare.
In our town Kash N Karry, cough cough years ago, was tops over Winn Dixie, Albertsons, Food Lion, and even Publix. These days, it be Publix. Hy-Vee making a push into mid south; I have yet to take a crack. Kroger tries, and I appreciate their baked option. Something is just wrong with Food Lion. Walmart? Hell no. And I don't even know if Food City even has fried chicken. Probably? Someone in the Carolinas could also compare Lowes. And also one of the few Harris Teeter still standing. I haven't seen a Piggly Wiggly in ages, last one was near Lake Lure, NC Finally, we come to the dark horse: Wegmans as they pushed into VA, so technically a contender.
This is sadly true.... I am a chocolate lover. But I would wait for two non-chocolate shakes all year. The Shamrock and the Eggnog shakes. I would get so excited when it was that time of the year. They were my favorites. Now they are just disappointing and sad. 😢
@emilyconner7493 also, the creamsikle like 'arctic orange', but haven't seen it in a couple or 4 years. It was a perfect summer shake. But alas never to be even when the shake machines work about 4 months a year..
You mentioned Sonic as the “Oklahoma export”, which is true nationally, but if you can somehow make it to Oklahoma, try Braums or Del Rancho milkshakes. Those blow the others away
As someone used to work at Arbys throughout High School during the age of the Arby-Q, the milkshakes work by excreting the vanilla ice cream and the syrup just streams out through a separate tube. It always results in a uneven mix. (Jamocha is the best, just remember that it will require some manual mixing)
This video made me so happy. I was just telling my husband the other day that I probably would see the ranking videos anymore. I'm very glad that I was wrong.
Hardee’s burgers are also pretty awesome too…so as a combo…yeah, Hardee’s. I just wish they made a biscuit burger with their fresh made biscuits…can you imagine that? Country ham and cheese burger and chocolate shake. Mmmmm.
In the 90's the DQ shakes were served in their soft drink cups, so a medium shake was the same size as a large blizzard. You could order an extra thick chocolate shake with coconut and pecans and you'd basically have a german chocolate blizzard that you could get larger than the largest blizzard for less.
Hardee’s hand scooped shakes were the best!!! Matt, you missed Culver’s, Braums and Whataburger. I would think they would all rank pretty highly in this mix. Especially Braums.
I thought the same thing about him missing Braum’s but learned from their very informative website that they only have stores open in an approximately 330 mile radius from their processing plant and distribution center so the milk is fresh. Like apparently around 36 hours from cow to store fresh. Matt lives in Alabama which is outside of that radius. They also have an entire timeline of their business on their website which I think is pretty neat and wanted to share. 😁
Was also no milk used. That’s why the never called them milk shakes. They were just “shakes.” Pretty sure someone sued them for misrepresenting their milkshakes.
Hey Alma and Tony ❤️ I am sorry you are having crappy weather. It's 84° with beautiful sunshine right now. It's a little windy. I am enjoying it for now. It's supposed to get really windy with rain, later today. It's supposed to rain all week.
Butterscotch milkshake. . . it was the best thing I'd ever had, when I was a kid. Haven't seen one on a menu, anywhere, in ages. Too bad, really. Just thought I'd add it to your "Why'd that go away?" list. That was back when you still saw a lot of butternut icing cakes with pecans stuck on them, like an outbreak of some sort. On Hardee's: I mean, if they had a biscuit shake I might believe it...the gentleman's club of fast food commercials? That can't be right.
Matt, I'd watch you rank paperclips in a paper sack. This was always my favorite segment of...that other thing...and I'm so freaking happy to see it again!! My husband came running in from the garage and said in a very excited voice, "MATT RANKED MILKSHAKES!!" Did not disappoint, my man! Keep ranking stuff!!
Literally cannot wait to watch it when I get home from work, appreciate you and your content Matt; Bless Your Rank was such a comfort show for me, and I am so glad you are staying true to yourself and continuing with your passion!
matt didn't know you left them myself but just want you to know your one of the main reason i even hit the sub button over there and i'm happy to see you doing your own thing now and i hope it goes will for you good job on the milkshake video little shocked at the ranking i would think DQ would of been up there in the top but not really that shocked to see it in the back i didn't even think they still offed shakes anymore xD
@@annesullivan2993 there are numerous Jack's in north Alabama. I can count 4 within 15 minutes of where I live. I know of at least one in Morgan county off the top of my head.
@@annesullivan2993 I just realized you may be thinking of Jack in the box. I don't think we have those, but Jack's is a burger chain fairly common in this area. I was referring to the latter.
I’ve got a confession to make. I wasn’t coming for the reviews. I came to leave feeling better and you nailed it. You lifted my spirits. But maybe that worked so well only because my mood was like deep red negative in the pits. So your job was easy. As far as the shake review goes: I haven’t had all of them yet so I can’t speak for the whole lineup BUT your review process was “southern pseudoscientifically thorough”. Well done. Oh, and thanks again for boosting my spirits.
As a Texan, I will say that you have to try Braum's milkshake. Heck Braums, anything is the ultimate in delicious food and drinks. So come to Texas or Oklahoma where you're sure to be well pleased.
Matt, if you are EVER in the greater Columbia, SC area, I HIGHLY recommend you (or anyone else) get a milkshake from Rush's, a local chain there. Their milkshakes aren't thick, like McDonalds, but dang if they aren't some of the tastiest. I'm originally from that area and still have family there, and whenever I visit, a Rush's stop is always required. Also, they have peach milkshakes year round
In the mid-late 80's Dairy Queen had good shakes. I worked at one and used to make a vanilla one and put the chocolate dip, what you dipped the cones in, into it and blend it. up. It made a great chocolate chip shake!
This is by far my favorite series of yours. I really want to see more of these! I also enjoy binge watching the previous bless your ranks on "it's a Southern thing"
when i was younger i distinctly remember burger kings chocolate shakes having a very unique "spiced" flavor type special thing going on and i absolutely loved it..and they always had the awesome ninja turtle toys/vhs tapes
@@chrissysm1981 I'm not sure if there's a whataburger near where i live. i think they are going to be building one soon though. if they do build one i'm definitely going to be getting me one.
Been watching food eating videos for the past month or two and living vicariously through each person I watch (have an eating disorder and unhealthy relationship/ mentality with/ about food and my body). My metabolism could never handle these milkshakes😂
It’s funny to hear about the the tie dye shakes and knowing CFA Is the same just hidden by the styrofoam cup. Worked there for 6 years, and all it is is our shake base to the red line you see on the cup, ice cream (technically called ice dream but I always thought it was corny) to about 1/4 inch from the top and 2 pumps of Hershey syrup. It’s up there for me as a something you can dip the fries in with Wendy’s.
I just wanted to say, for a significant portion of my childhood, I did not know that a DQ blizzard wasn't a milkshake. After that, I have never been frustrated at trying to get a milkshake up a straw
Arby’s machine has four different syrups plugged into one machine that come out of one nozzle. To go from one flavor to another, the flavor has to be washed from the tube to get another flavor like chocolate. The shake was swirled because the shake last shake made was another flavor and the chocolate syrup was not fully in the machine yet.
Spot on with the two-tone Arby's. Apparently it's the same thru out the chain. If you were ranking Chick's fresh peach shake it would knock all the rest off the table.
Matt, I'm happy that I can always count on you for some great laughs. Some of your reactions had me roaring with laughter. You are just the best at what you do. ❤
I loven whe you rank food items and I agree with this ranking. I never go to Daury Queen for a milkshake and was surpised that you were able to aquire a milkshake from McDonald's. Looking forward to your next ranking.
Matt trying to persuade himself that hurting nature is justified for getting the best kind of milkshake container is so funny lol. Also, I'm so on board with the beef shake
The irony of Matt loving the Sonic "whipped cream," when that one is actually glorified Cool Whip - hydrogenated oil - and McDonald's, Arby's, Dairy Queen, Hardee's and Chick-Fil-A all use actual whipped cream in their shakes 😂😂 The reason the whipped cream looked sad on all the other ones was because actual cream needs to be refrigerated in order to stay whipped -- because it's CREAM lmao
