The Pec Fly attachment reminds reminds me of the ones on those cheap weight benches that you buy from the store. Which, I actually like those. They're also lever based and allow for a good stretch and contraction. The lateral raises with the cuffs are a personal favorite of mine. I'm always shocked when I don't see people performing them

I have never used the pec fly attachment, but if I did, I'd probably do a pre-x triset with it, DB fly and a press (to get the stretch with the DBs, the contraction with the attachment, and then finish it off with the compound).

I’m probably going to get the lever gym. I was thinking about getting the iron master bench and the tower system or so you think it would be pointless to get the IM power tower if you have the lever gym, but the IM2000 looks good, too. Lol
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 10 месяцев назад
I don’t think it would be necessary to get the IM Lat Tower and the Levergym. I have an older video called, The Powertec Levergym - “The One Piece Of Equipment I Would Have If I Could Only Have One” and I still stand by that video. One of the biggest reasons I like the Levergym over the IM 2000 is hand position. I prefer being able to grip the lever arm handles at a 45 degree angle in the bend of the handle which is easier on my shoulders, wrists, and elbows than gripping a straight bar. Also, the Levergym is isolateral.

I wish you had a comparison between stream line functional trainer and the deluxe ,
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews Год назад
I almost purchased the Deluxe instead of getting the Streamline a second time. I went with the Streamline again because of the smaller footprint and the distance the pulleys are apart. Without trying the Deluxe, I feel like the Streamline is better for presses in particular because the cables are closer together. For example, I never liked doing chest presses on the cable cross over machines in commercial gyms. If there are multiple people working out, I can see the Deluxe being pretty advantageous.

I know it's not in this video, but what is your opinion between the Levergym and the Multisystem? If you had to buy one, disregarding price and space, which would you get and why?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 8 месяцев назад
The Levergym is much more versatile, has band pegs, and the bench can be disconnected. If I could only have one, I’d get the Levergym. If I wanted one strictly for the flat press and decline press, I’d take the Multipress.

Great informative and interesting video once more HGHR. Great job! Very well said that the standing version of the viking press on the LG would be missed if you had only the multi press over the LG. i Like the fair points you make on the multi press, whereas I concur that if the MP had a pulley there would be a certain decision to be made between the two as to which one trumps the other overall? I have thought to myself before on occasion that while having the lat tower attachment option connected to the MP (or multi system to add a cable function to the system), that aside from the slight inconvenience of extra set up time of the lat tower bench option over the LG's fantastic built in convenience, the MP would actually be slightly even more space efficient option due to the add on tower not requiring leaving space behind it to account for the rear plates during the arcing motion of the LG, as the MP can stay against a wall. As I have the LG and Multi system I do not have the attachment, but for sheer space efficiency could the Legendary LG have a contender when the the MP is combined with the lat attachment? Especially as if the LG squat bar is used, this can be done on the MP or MS from the bottom position while sitting on the bench, using it as a depth contenuity and no need to mess around with the pin, Calve raises can also be done in this 'from the bottom' seated position fashion as I found out for sure from the Multi system. Or would the convenience of the LG, built in band pegs and handy leg hold down (for many reasons) be too good to turn away from in favor of the MP in your opinion? Very interested to hear your thoughts on that one as you are a good man to ask. Also another thought. If it were possible not to compromise the machine in any way from an engineering point of view, what a machine the lever gym would be if it could have a straight up and down weight stack at the rear with the horns also. That would be an upgrade I would rush to get.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews Год назад
Thank you for the message. I reached out to Powertec a while ago with a few suggestions for the next Levergym and one of those suggestions included a cable system without the arcing arm in the back; so I like the way you’re thinking…having the machine 2 feet away from the wall does make placement slightly more difficult. I haven’t used the Pulldown attachment, but I’ve heard it’s good. My preference would be the Levergym over the Multipress with the Pulldown attachment because the Pulldown attachment would need to be removed anytime the bench is adjusted. Also, the lever arms attach low on the MP making it not favorable for squats, Viking press, standing calf raise, etc.
@johnpain8380
@johnpain8380 Год назад
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Well said. having the LG 2 feet away from the wall Is a factor. I have mine in one corner and if there was a piece that ever looks cool and works straight on in a room or works towards a corner, for me it is the LG. i used to like the old design of the bench. Okay, we have a better bench now, but the space efficiency of the old LG and MP where the bench could be swung into the back position when not in use was better in that sense. For me at 6 foot I personally found squats to be okay (but like you say not ideal) on the MP of the MS when setting the lever arms resting on the third highest pin on the front row of holes for the pin settings, and with a flat bench, to squat or squat to calve raise. But then again I only did the test just so I knew if it could be used 'in a pinch'. But that is only in line with how you think sometimes.. If only we could have one unit what can it possibility do? Really enjoyed the vid and your thoughts. Thanks again.

If someone has a functional trainer and lat/row station. Is there any reason why you would still own a lever gym in addition to the multi press + powertec squat/calf raise machines? Seems like those two machines have it covered or am I missing something?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews

The MP is better for the flat press when compared to the LG. If you own a FT, High / Low Pulley, Multipress, and the Lever Squat, I don’t think the Levergym is necessary.

For me, the compact leg sled had a full range of motion; however, I have seen other people add some spacers / mats on the platform to increase its range of motion.
