Today we will be looking at my Rankings of all the Mr. Olympia champions starting with my favorite and finishing up with my least favorite champion of all time. www.ambal.ru/
My favorite has to be Jay Cutler, the dude lost 6 years straight to the best bodybuilder at that time, debatably of all time to a lot of people. His work ethic and his ability to keep trying is incredible. That’s why he’s my #1
Um, lost what 6 years in a row? At the Olympia he came 2nd 3 years in a row (‘03-‘05), from ‘03-‘11 he placed 2nd 5 times and 1st 4 times. In ‘99 he was 14th, ‘00 8th then in ‘01 2nd (should have won). He skipped the Olympia in ‘02 & ‘12.
Derek's lats are artificial so he can beat Tim. If Tim had his lats he would win. However I prefer the lats of the bat 🦇 Franco who of course had no mass.
Very true..shamefully he seems to be forgotten when it comes to mentioning breaking Arnold’s record as people always quote Ronnie..Lee was Awesome…id have to go Arnold first but Lee second over all others.
@@Supersleuth0987 yes and Arnold’s record is tarnished. One was uncontested the other only had 3 or 4 competitors and we all know the 80 Olympia was bullshit
@@johnnyesponge9218 same here.Every time I saw him standing next to the others I was thinking why do they even show up it was a battle just for second lol
Bcoz lee himself never gave f about respect or fame guy had only focus which was shape of the muscle not too much. he kept mass monsters out of the game for a decade
Arnold in 1974, in which he planned on being his last, Arnold would take no chances in losing so he came in his most massive and cut and when he came out to pose the audience gasped at his MASS!!! Frank Zane was there in the audience that night and that was his take on the Mr. Olympia show.
Exactly. Numerous people like Roger Walker, Jerry Branium and Ricky Wayne who were in the audience in 1974 said, Arnold was from another planet that year. There is a black and white video of Arnold on stage in 1974. He looks even more insane in the grainy black/white video than in the pictures.
My favorite is definitely dorain, arguably the best back oat and one of the best mindsets of all time. I really love the mass monster era, and dorain started it
Yeah, for some reason my favourite is Dorian. Used to not like his physique (preferred Flex, Kevin and Shawn), but the more I looked the more I realised how good he was. He was also by far the MOST dominant pro bodybuilder ever. As a pro, his lowest placing was 2nd, and from ‘92 to ‘97 he was undefeated. He only ever lost 1 round after ‘92(!) back when bodybuilding had 4 rounds. Only Lee Haney comes close. All other (modern) Olympians aside from Dorian and Lee stayed on too long and their dominance declined. Heck, Ronnie placed 2nd at a pro show in ‘02 and was 2nd then (gifted) 5th in his final Olympia.
Good video man. I personally put Rhoden higher because I believe his win was a signal to the competitors that the bubble guts had to be kept in check. My personal top 3 is Ronnie, Arnold and Yates. Primarily because they have a very high entertainment value/impact on the sport. If you're interested I got a ranking/tierlist up on my channel as well. Anyway, was interesting to see your take on the Mr. O rankings.
@@danjonmills Yeah I think the aesthetic package was a necessity at the time. To me it felt like bubble guts were getting normalized. Not desired, but instead tolerated. But then in 2018 Rhoden came in as the most aesthetic Mr O since Lee Haney. (Arguably Jackson in 2008 but that felt less like a consistent thing). And I feel like since then a lot of the MR O competitors have done their best to keep the waist in check. Lunsford even hits some vacuums at times.
I dunno about Mr. Olympia himself, but my favourite reign is definitely Jays. He finally defeated his old rival in 06, had a controversy in 07, lost in 08, came back better than ever in 09, showed his young protege in 2010 that he is still the man and finally lost to him in 2011. Overall great reign filled with ups and downs, wasnt too long, wasnt too short
About Chris Dickerson: not disagreeing with his placement (which would be pointless anyway as it's a personal list), but it's a shame he doesn't get a bit more recognition in general. Trained opera singer. First black guy to win Mr America. One of the few openly gay bodybuilders - pretty courageous in very different times. Smart, cultured and conducted himself with dignity. By all accounts, a well-rounded and nice guy.
interesting choices..i can agree on some for sure. Especially the last one lol..I would have LOVED to seen Roelly "spelling?" get a win. He was a fan favorite for a reason. Just seemed like a cool dude..
Every time I think Haney was too small or unimpressive, I look at the rest of the guys in the lineups he was competing against and he is so much bigger and better despite his flaws.
I think a lot of people are going to look back and see Hadi wasn't being credited enough. He actually balances size and aesthetics supremely well, and he's absolutely sliced and diced to the gills that he's worlds ahead of 99% of everybody else, and those that can get as ripped simply aren't big or symmetrical enough to win. I was rooting for him before his '22 win, and was super excited to see him take it. I even thought aesthetics were going to start mattering again and would finally be the death knell of the disgusting bubble gut era.
Lunsford is who the IFBB wanted to win - not sure why, guy has the personality of a rock. Hadi is hilarious even if he doesn't intend to be, in addition to being the better bodybuilder. But they have the old school view on nationalities and such but are completely out of touch.
My favorite Dorian or Arnold. Modern bodybuilding, i dont care. Even modern training is done for cosmetic reasons only. Before it was different. Spirit is gone.
Brandon Curry would've been way higher for me personally, he always had so much potential and imo when he really nailed it he looked better to my eyes than any of these other champions, bar Phil Heath
Good old derek last lol, i can relate to that. My top 10 would be Haney, Arnold, Sergio, Samir, Curry, Rhoden, Dexter, Scott, Frank, Hadi. All mass with class no bubble gut shit!
@@woahblackbettybamalam why? I think everyone should be able to do as they please, be it agnosticism, another religion or even a christian that is not that devote
@@Guillermoreno02 No. If you believe in the same thing as me, you are a good man. If you are different, then you go to hell. Thats how religious people work lol
I am not a big fan of Phil Heath as a person but his genetics are insane. Still my favorite arms to this day. Guy was poppin and and and his insertions were ridiculous. You can see That his forearms are almost attached to his shoulders. Crazy. 4:20
Worst Mr. OLYMPIA was Chris Dickerson. He won while having one Elbow pointing out a good 3". It was horrible looking. Larry Scott beats out Chris Dickerson.
For me Arnold is the most favourite, he was the icon. Then 2nd to big Ramy, that gave me the good feeling when he won, the third is Dexter. Then Franco, the guy was small but able to compete in world strongest man. Phil, Jay, Ronnie, Lee are all great but I kind of felt so and so when they won. I would rather see Kevin Levrone snatch one Sanddow as if he did so, Kevin would be the 2nd on my list.
Using your criteria of being happiest they won, I'd say Shawn Rhoden would be my #1. Because I was thrilled he dethroned Phil Heath at that Olympia. But that's not taking away of how amazing Phil is, just that i felt it was deserved and rightly called. Also was happy when Brandon won.
Coleman for coming in last in 92 to first in 98. And i truly believe there are at least 3 versions of Coleman that are NOT beatable by anyone from any era . Yates for his insane training and his blend of conditioning and density . And my least favorite is easy for me . Arnold !! Because everyone is on his dick so much . Yes he’s the most important bodybuilder ever and most popular . But he isn’t close to being the goat . He’s the most over rated bodybuilder ever !!
Theres only 4 olympia greatest arnold, ronnie, lee and phil if those guys never existed this whole list would look so different those 4 have more olympia titles under their belt then my sister has been born lol 25+ years is insane to think about 4 guys holding the title
Development wasn’t that much better in 80’s vs 70’s? 🤣 really dude . Haney , bannut , Gary strydom , Bob Paris , platz , Mike Christian , berry demay all destroy anyone from 70’s
My favorite is Mike Mentzer as the '79 Heavyweight Champion. Arnold 2nd, and least favorite is Chris Dickerson, or maybe Franco? I like Franco but I'm not sure he should win the Olympia, especially '81.
Arnold is NOT the greatest of all time, we all know the 1980 Mr O was set up for Joe Weiders business partner and Serge Nubret was more symmetrical than Arnold and should have won then. Lee Haney is the greatest bodybuilder of all time back when bodybuilding was about a beautiful body.
Arnold wouldn't even win a pro show this day and age, he was battling Mike Mentzer and Frank Zane. He had no legs, his claim to fame was his biceps, please stop over hyping him, Phil Heaths poops was bigger than Arnold Schwarzenegger
Your list is a muppet list.. goodness .. Jay cutler ? The nicest bodybuilder who fought Ronnie the best bodybuilder ever ?! You kidding bro. You are a muppet
Imagine being triggered by a personal favourites list. He's a 'muppet' for having personal favourites? You really need to grow up: you'll find the world disagrees with your opinions at times, and you should chill.
