I told my dad long ago Damien is a class above, like Canan Moodie, some players have that special aura that makes them stand out even at the elite level. Another kid I've had my eye on is Elrich Louw, plays with the maturity of an experienced player. We have so much young talent that play with maturity now and that are being guided by Rassie, the future of the Springboks looks promising.

We should also look at Tyrone Green who plays for the Harlequins

arendse kolbe libbok and moodie can all cover fullback if we need them to but willemse is only 25 he can play another 2 wcs easily

I prefer Fassi at 11 specifically for the Springboks, less defensive responsibilities (Fassi is a terrible defender) there and he played well in 2 (Georgia and Argentina 2021) of his 3 tests for the Boks at 11

Fullback cover or depth doesn’t worry me to be honest. On a comparative basis, South Africa is better off at fullback than all other major test nations, including New Zealand. Fullback depth is a global problem. There are only 3 or 4 genuine world class fullbacks floating around the world at the moment. Arendse, Moodie, or Kolbe are all excellent cover at fullback, and so Jessie Kriel. We are good.

Willie is golden when playing well, but has some really bad shockers when he isn't. Agree I see him on the way out, but hope he can impart knowledge. Willemse really stepped up during the WC, and can do a job at 15. Though I think he is better at centre and would prefer he get some opportunities there too. So agree, experience wise this is the worst position depth wise. I love some of the young talent coming through. But most are more utility in nature. So either works in our favour with increased squad rotation and exposure for young players, or hurts the team long term with continuous changes. I'll be watching how Rassie & Co manage this over the next 4 years.
