I think the blazers job is being underrated tbh. We have an average defense when nurkic was on the floor and the only reason our defense was 29th is cause we had Kanter starting most of the year, not to mention Stotts isn’t a good defensive coach. And they had like the second best offense in the league. If they make a couple moves this off-season to improve their defense a bit more (e.g. the CJ for Ben trade, get a better backup rim protecting big) I think the blazers can contend. And Dame isn’t leaving lmao, he’s made it clear so many times but it’ll always be a topic ig.
Dame would rather grind it out in Portland (his home) and never win as opposed to requesting a trade and teaming up for a chip. He's made this clear many times, but I can understand why people outside of Portland would think he might leave.
Russell Westbrook: has probably one of his 3 or 4 best seasons ever averaging 22-11-11 and should’ve made all NBA Kenny: the wizards have 1.5 stars. I’m calling Westbrook half of a star. Lmfao
This would have been a good video to talk about an interesting little tidbit about the tenure of coaches in the NBA. With Carlisle out, along with Stotts and Stevens, you've got Pop at forever status, then Spo alone in second since '08, and then you gotta go all the way down to Quinn Snyder and Steve Kerr who took over in '14.
Why'd you put elevated in air quotes for Steve Kerr? 5th seed and 2nd round exit with a middle of the pack offense to 1st seed and championsip and #1 offense isn't elevation?
the suns made the jump from non playoff team to contender in one season with good coaching and a couple nice moves... imo the same thing could happen with the blazers. if their new coach is anywhere near as good as monty, don't sleep on the blazers man
Bro on god Portland just needs a player to do what they thought Roco could! Everybody is going insane about Dame leaving ! Idk what that man wants but they’re that close
What teams have ever won a championship with their two best players being a Power Forward and a Center? Between Ben and Joel and you mentioning Sabonis and Myles Turner i dont think that has ever worked as far as I am aware?
The tumultuous time during Kyrie’s tenure in Boston greatly strained team chemistry and eroded the culture that brad had built in the previous years, and he wasn’t able to recover from that before burning out.
I actually watched since I was confused what he meant by coaching vacancies like which places would coaches flock to or which coach they should get, I did not understand it
@@ireplytostupidpeople4750 i’m replying to a stupid person right now. obviously every coaches legacy depends on their players. would phil jackson be considered a great coach if he didn’t have jordan and kobe? probably still yes. there’s just something that the great coaches have that allows to them to go all the way and convert their talent into championships, something most coaches don’t. it’s why people like quinn snyder and doc rivers choke(i know doc won a chip but that was a long time ago)
Orlando has one of the best spots, hella young talent waiting to break out. No pressure or expectations in the East. You can literally only make the team better. I am excited as a magic fan
As of right now there is a ceiling though. The team can improve and make it to... the 8 seed? For 4 years and then the coach is fired and has a reputation if not getting over the hump. That's assuming the draft doesn't give them a superstar talent or two.
Not to mention, y’all could easily get the #1 pick and have another top 10 pick with Isaac coming back. Y’all are literally a coach away from being the 6th-8th seed in the East
damn kenny must really not like the wizards lmaoo, first he says it was a wizards fan dumping popcorn on westbrook and now he's calling him half a superstar 😹
I don't feel like Terry Stotts is a bad coach at all. He had seasons with a top 10 defense despite having terrible defensive personnel. I think Blazers fans are going to be very disappointed when they figure out that Stotts wasn't the problem. It's easy to scapegoat the coach. The problem is that your two best players are offense-only guards. Name me one title contender that's built around that?
The Portland Trail Blazers I think is a good team and I'm a Trail Blazers fan. We're a good team, we just need to get some more good players on the team at least another superstar to play with my boy Damian Lillard
David Blatt is a better tactical coach than Ty Lou. He has won titles in Europe, even with undersog teams. LeBron just wanted freedom to do whatever he wishes...
