I don't have a ranking since GT7 is my first of the series and I love every minute of it :D I really like the way how the game is structured, which really teaches you how to drive a race car. As a rookie the best game to get started - since I have a direct drive wheel it is even better. I played the occasional racing game since I was a kid, but none could catch me like GT7. And also thanks to your content @Kireth
(1).GT5. it was first really online, easy to play with wheel or controller. Low speed internet worked great. Tons of tracks, track maker, great single speed karts. It even had B-spec so you could earn money while you slept. It was the perfect game until the modders started importing cheat cars.( 2). Gran Turismo, (3). GT7 (4). GT4. It did have a limited online life, but 99% of us had no idea. (5). GT6 (6). GT Sport (7). GT2 (8). GT3. (9) .GT5 Prologue (10). GT6 Beta, but it was a test game, very limited.
Grand Turismo 2 was the first one I owned, and it's still my favorite. For its time, it was incredible, and even though the graphics are obviously outdated today, it's still fun to play today.
I started with GT3. I’ve played them all beyond that version and for me that’s the one that I had the most memories of and I don’t think it’s just for nostalgia sake. I spent so many hours trying to get the proper set up to complete races. I just loved their Track selection. For me I’m one of those people that just appreciate tracks more than huge number of cars. Yeah it didn’t have online but that just meant that I would have to go over to someone’s house and play split screen. Felt more like a sim back then, with focus. Sport a close 2nd
As someone who started on PlayStation this racing franchise holds a special place in my heart I started on the PS2 with GT3 A Spec and went all the way to 7 the latest title when I was a kid I used to play these games so much I made myself go nuts but this franchise will always be my favorite racing franchise
GT4 was released march 9th 2005. Not in '04. I got mine in the mail march 10th. GT4 was highly awaited and anticipated. At least certainly know it was by me. Maybe the want for GT4 is what makes it take the cake. To me, the current is the best. Better is just better. I only hope PD will at a HUD-toggle, a startinggearindicator in the lobby and that VR will increase to double the res.
Thank you! starting at 9:00 are my sentiments exactly. Played all (AUS) Gran Turismo game versions (available to me) since 1997/98 and don't/won't play any others games (that's just me and circumstances) and yet am even more passionate now than as ever. My personal favourite sentiments lie with the GTSport version which 'kept' me (motivated me further) to improving and more importantly enjoying and staying in the Gran Turismo sim racing journey (mostly the online racing experiences - let alone graphics, hardware etc) and the journey that Kaz gave us. Thanx again. 🇦🇺
Can you talk about the ticket driving miles system because I could drive 50 miles or more on a race and it gives me 3 star and 5 k credits, and when a car costs 20 million credits that’s so frustrating it makes me not want to play because I don’t have 24.24 hours to make that many credits that’s just for 1 car I mean come on who has that much time. But I know they want to sell 2 million credits for 20$ come on that’s insane! Let’s get a better ticket system that doesn’t try to always screw the player and make cars more affordable. Or at least make the credits obtainable without driving for a full day starlight. Second thing is there’s only 2 races to make a good amount of money one is lemans for 825k after 32 minutes normally
2,3,5 were better than 4, 4 was fun and I have some great memories with it but the physicists where absolutely atrocious. No way in hell did they go from the amazing physics from 3 and burn it all to the ground with 4. I’ll have to heavily disagree with this. Also been playing since 1.
I'm quite surprised no one mentioned the things wrong when you talked about GT5 and 6. Not because 6 is lower than 5 (which I highly disagree), but because you mentioned GT6 was so delayed and the scope was massive. About the scope: yes, it had promised some features that didn't arrive until 2 years later, but mostly, GT6 was just an extended version of GT5. And that the game was delayed...excuse me? GT6 was announced mid 2013, and the game released that same year on December. However, I'll agree that not having a PS4 version was idiotic by Kaz and Polyphony. GT5 however, received more delays than almost any game of the franchise. Not to mention that it had a Prologue game which made up false expectations about that those 1000 cars in the full game would have that level of detail. PS3 launched on 2006. And GT5 launched on 2010. 4 years later after the PS3 launch. GT5's scope was bigger than the one from GT6. In fact, it had the biggest scope than any GT game...and it still under delivered. Standard Cars, sluggish menus and loading screens, mediocre course maker, licenses of real world stuff are just there and not really well done, separate B-Spec mode...and a lot more. Yes, GT5 is a fun game by itself. But for being a 2010 PlayStation 3 first party game, it was somewhat abysmal. By the way... where's Gran Turismo 3?
it's definitely 3 by far, no other racing game made me feel great like gt3, except maybe for the forza series because I'm stuck on forza horizon now 😊 but gt1 & 2 always bring back nostalgic memories, gt4 was bland and half copy of 3 and after playing one year never touched it again because it just didn't feel as magic as 3 did, 5,6 & sport I never played because I was not interested in GT series anymore because I got caught on to forza, but finally I returned to the GT franchise and bought 7 and I must say I'm impressed especially since they brought my favorite car back (Suzuki Escudo) but it still needs a ton of work to be fun like it used to be, it's stuck on trying to be too realistic nowadays, even the new forza motorsport feels more fun than this and that game is terrible 😅
I still think GT5 is overrated due to nostalgia and its context (2010) The game released the same year as God of War 3 and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, yet Gran Turismo 5 was WAY below those games quality wise. Not to mention that most of the flaws that GT4 had (that weren't few) still existed in GT5 and went worse. It's an enjoyable game? Sure. But it's no way near as good as I read. In fact, as someone who played it for the first time in 2021, it was disappointing. Not more disappointing than GT Sport offline, but I won't judge offline GT Sport because that wasn't Sport's main focus.
I've played all the Gran Turismo games also. I think the physics of the games have always been good. I really don't want Gran Turismo to be a game that is strictly GT racing, or F1, Nascar, or Rally. I'm fine with getting a taste of the different disciplines. I want this game to give players an opportunity to really experience car culture throughout the history of the automobile and GT7 is another attempt at it, but they missed it again by leaving off too many important cars and also not including racetracks. GT6 had a better car list than GT7.
For me its GT4 and GT3 easly. Lets face it i think most fans of the series looking back on GT6,Sport and GT7 and say its the worst ones. I belive its a big problem for PD when non of the last games are close to what was 20+yrs ago. I started playing GT2 late 90s. Now its the first time i doubt buying or playing new GT games. GT6 and GT7 worst in the series. GT sport i think most fans dint want a full/sport game. GT will always be for many be a single player game but PD cant get that right anymore.
@@Kireth I think many of the people buying this have been waiting 10yrs since GT6 for a proper GT game. For me and i belivemany others been very dissepointed. We have seen problems with game design since GT5, is going back words. For me its amazing and insane to see how far PD have fallen in that regard. How could they make GT1 to GT4 so good then?
