Druid, when played by someone who understands the class, deserves at least A tier.

as a man who mains paladins and is currently playing a rogue in a campaign, i see this as an absolute win

Personally, Sorcerers are actually my favorite because of the whole "inherent magic" type thing, I mean it's cool how Wizards can cast all those spells, but Sorcerers open up a bunch of different Unique Narratives as you explore how they got their magic and what it means, at least, IMO.

I never played a paladin until a few years ago, and she quickly became one of my favorite characters I ever played. There's a certain clarity to playing a paladin that you don't get with other classes.

The quote of the heat : "Rangers are what everyone want the fighters to be!" It's already a classic!

Duke, I'm so happy to see you give Ranger its due. They were the last 5e class I've made a character for, and they were honestly my favorite character as a class that I've made. When you stop relying on Hunter's Mark and start concentrating on their better spells, like Entangle, Fog Cloud, Spike Growth, Conjure Animals, and others, the Ranger can really own the battlefield. And, with Goodberry, they become the team healer to boot. A back row healer. Hi, Cleric! I'm staying out of danger! ^^ Love the Ranger.

I love the kind of memetic and at the same time serious tone he gives when defining the position, and that the monk was put in C tier for no reason whatsoever. This is no factual list of how powerful a class is, it's simply how one views them, for fun, flavor and expectancy (both to live and the power), the paladin sounds powerful to those who choose to take it and it is powerful when you take it, makes sense for the S tier

From a roleplaying perspective playing a warlock gives you so much versatility that it is fun playing one, if the campagin focuses more on rping than fighting

I think the reason behind why the barbarian wasn't an S tier might have been because they're so predictable. This can be changed by going the wild magic barbarian path. Every time you rage, you may just randomly teleport 20ft. above your enemy, or be able to casually throw your greatsword, or how about creating tiny magic bombs, or making your weapon just deal force damage. You never know which you'll get, so it gives the barbarian an element of unpredictability.

The real answer to what classes are the best is: Whichever ones you want to play! Every class has its own strengths and weaknesses, and all provide unique roleplay opportunities, so play whatever is the most fun! If you're feeling damage (like me) you should try Oath of Vengeance Paladin and Echo Knight Fighter multiclass. Against a single target, you're basically a blender lmao

Ranger's get a lot of hate because of their worst subclass, but they are really fun. They're also the only class whose starting equipment can include a Longbow instead of a Shortbow. My favorite Ranger I've built was a Half-Elf Ranger with Gloomstalker subclass who mostly only comes out at night, because of the 3rd level ability Umbral sight which increases Darkvision range, but more importantly, makes you invisible to anything that relies on darkvision to see you in darkness, which means you get advantage to attacking them, and they get disadvantage to attacking you.

Sorcerer was the first class I played, and it's easily my favorite. Just so much damn fun

By the gods, actually giving the ranger class some props. I've been saying forever that if you build a Ranger the right way, you've got a jack of all trades who any party would love to have.

I was already at my limit when you put sorcerer in D tier, but then I had to flip off my computer screen when you put warlock on D tier XD

Ranger is A tier because it's B tier in like 4 different class roles, it fills in any gap the party has and is good enough to hold it's ground when the big specialized types are missing. Half a druid, half a rogue, half a fighter, (And with Fey wanderer) half a bard. They're 200% of a class. They're not the best in any particular role, but they're very good in so many different roles at once that they're almost always useful.

as a cleric, I am slightly offended, but also find this relatable. (kinda) honestly sometimes I’m actually excited to play my cleric and help support the party, sometimes I’m even able to get some action with monsters and things as well. plenty of situations when I’ve had to save the party though. Those were not very fun sometimes.

Artificer?

Fun Druid idea that I have for one of my back-up characters: a Reborn Lizardfolk who took Circle of the Moon and who's basically just a living dinosaur skeleton. He can use his Wild Shape to only turn into prehistoric Beasts and other animals that were around that time (such as sharks) and every time he transforms, his bones crack into shape as the nervous and muscular systems form around him before being covered in skin.

I use to play nothing but sorcerers because they're an easy class to understand and you don't have to deal with books or patrons you just know spells. Then I played a Rouge. Best decision in my life most fun I've ever had in a dnd campaign. Currently playing a Warlock in pathfinder 2e as a yugioh abridged reference. Good list would put sorcerers up higher but thats just me.

As a sorcerer lover whose second is a druid, I feel personally attacked.

As a barbarian, I single handedly carried my entire party (6 other people) and had to take on a young green dragon by myself at level 3 because the rest of my party was already nearly dead. Barbarians are great 👍

I think cleric deserves more than a B tear. Because it depends from the divine domain the pg have. The cleric is so versatile that can be a healer or a DPS (For that I personally recommend tempest domain)

Funny thing is, Druid and Sorcerer are my 2 favorite classes to play. Druids get Wild Shape, which may not be great at first, but if the DM lets you be creative it has some amazing utility. Unless you play Circle Of The Moon, in which case just play a Barbarian. Maybe not as powerful as others, but definitely a ton of fun. And, more importantly, my argument for Sorcerer: They get less spell options than Wizard, but they get to cast them in fun ways. A Sorcerer who prepares the Knock spell can Twin Spell it, unlocking a door with 2 locks for one action. If you're against a mage, by using a sorcery point to use Subtle Spell, the enemy can't counterspell it, as they can't see the spell being cast until they're already hurt. And even then, move aside Cleric, the Divine Soul subclass gets all Cleric spells, with Twin Spell added on, making Sorcerer among the best healers in the game. Lastly, ignoring metamagic, Sorcery Points give you extra spell slots if needed, giving your longevity a massive boost in most scenarios. imo, Sorcerer's are what Wizards wish they could be, but in the end they're just 2 sides of the "squishy caster" coin: Wizards are versatile in the spells they pick before a fight, while Sorcerers are flexible with how they cast their spells during the combat. In trade, wizards can only cast a spell as is described, and Sorcerers can't have as many spells to choose from.

I play a smooth talking, level headed, sexually abstinent Bard. Easily S tier with the way he can convince even the most stubborn people to do things they don't want to

Bard is 'S' for magical secrets alone in my opinion, can take class exclusives like Find Greater Steed 3 levels before Paladin can.

Every time someome on the internet hates on the druid i only love my players more. Out of 3 campaigns weve had 4 druids (2 at once once) and my players fucking *LOVE* it and theyre some of the most in depth characters ive ever DMed for

my favorite moment dodging a breath weapon as rogue was when one of my team took MASSIVE damage and I took none. canonically, i quickly hid behind him so the dragon aiming at me tried extra hard.

I think any class can be amazing depending on how you play it. I've played a decent amount of D&D and started DMing recently and it's really interesting seeing people's portrayals of different class. My most recent party I DMed for had a wizard, 2 paladins and 2 clerics, (they did not talk to each other or me before making characters, then again it was ment to be a one shot while waiting for regular DM to return before it got popular) despite the party's composition they are all very unique characters and managed to hold things together mostly. I think it's not always about the character but how it's played. That being said I have played so many Rouges and they are definitely top tier they are so much fun. But that's just my opinion.

Some dude said something like “paladins can do nothing against long bows” yeah tell that to my 21 AC and 40 movement speed.

I like how everyone disses on Warlocks, but they have some of the best cross-class potential, the most diverse array of abilities when comparing subclasses, reach higher level spells faster, and have some of the most powerful spells casters can learn. I often mix Warlock/Fighter or Warlock/Sorcerer to capitalize on their versatility and abuse action economy.

My tier list: S: Sorcerer, Warlock A: Druid, Cleric, Artificer, Paladin B: Monk, Wizard, Bard C: Rogue, Ranger D: Barbarian, Fighter It's ranked on how interesting I find the classes conceptually, generally not counting subclasses. S tiers are extremely and intrinsically compelling to me, conceptually. A tiers are just really solid. It doesn't take much to get the ball rolling on an interesting character concept. B tiers have that mystical dedication that gives them *_some_* interesting spin. C tiers take quite some work to make compelling and unique, but they mesh well with certain kinds of adventures well enough to have something going for them. D tiers are really difficult for me to come up with interesting concepts for-- especially when put next to the other classes. What? "Mechanics"? "Utility"? "Damage"? "Combat"? Who cares about that stuff? Make a character concept with cool RP first, and figure out the rest... **handwave** ...eventually.

I love rangers so much. Every single subclass has the potential to either specialize in something, usually to pretty good effect, or just be a one man adventuring party and serve whatever role the party needs at the moment.

I personally love Warlocks. They’re very flexible in how you can play them and they have alot of good subclasses. The only thing I wish is that their expanded spell list was added to their spells known instead of just being extra options, and that they had more spell slots

Agree with warlock but I think the sorcerer has a much more defined well of magic and can be really fun to theme your magic. As with druids, you can use your wild shape to tank a lot of damage if you need to and you have a lot of versatility. You can also really easily theme your magic

If the Ranger A-tier thing was a joke, I'm about to look really stupid. I joined my first ever D&D campaign a few months ago and decided that since this was my first ever character, I had an excuse to be extremally unoriginal! So, I made an edgelord bastard Human Ranger with a katana and basically told my DM to figure it out! As it turned out, the campaign had alternate dimensions as a large plot point, so my katana is a strange magic weapon from another world that gives me Haste! I then proceeded take nothing but movement spells for the first 4 levels and basically became Zenitsu from Demon Slayer! One of the D&D veterans in my group keeps telling me that it's very unique to see a playstyle like that on a Ranger instead of a Fighter. This tier list makes me feel a lot less stupid for my vary baseless decision. or, like I said at the beginning, the whole thing was a joke and I look like a massive idiot!

Warlock in D-tier? Witness the *stream* of tears I shed! Warlocks are the only class whose backstory enforces itself! So much flavor! So much color! I don't care if I only have like 3 spells! Now go away while I flatter the Eldritch Master and beg him to let me dual-class...

I enjoyed this immensely and agree with most of it, although I think Bard should be boosted a tier, because even though it's become a meme-y class overall, for people who are still serious about DnD, the bard really does offer some great support, and their charisma is really handy to have for out of combat situations. Every party should have a bard or high charisma rogue in my opinion. Unless your campaign is almost solely about combat and exploring, and not interacting with other people I guess.

Druid is my favorite class. But it would be nice, in some situations, if it were a little more stabby so I can contribute more to battles while maintaining my concentration spells

As a sorcerer, I take shame as an action, and then use Quickened Metamagic to do it again as a bonus action.

Sorcerer: I can hold concentration longer, use concentration spells on two targets at once, can do big damage with bonus action, can fly o teleport ( depending on a subclass) and still good in rp because of harisma Wizard: I can learn any spell, but only if dm gives us gold to do it, otherwise I am useless( dies to 1d4 big money bag damage)

Fighter could make it to A tier. I completely agree with ranger (not that it is everything people want fighter to be) the drake warden subclass is OP. You get a dragon companion at 3rd level and you get a cantrip which rangers don't get, you also learn to speak, read and write in draconis or a different language of your choice, that's just at third level. The only reason a played ranger was cuz I had Fizban's and I wanted to make sure I didn't buy a crapy book. I didn't.

I like my current monk, she's a Kensei with some rogue levels, who is nearly unkillable because of her speed and ranged attacks.
