Thats how the meta works in video games. One thing becomes OP so you have to use it or figure out what can beat it. Hence why Pachirisu was able to win the world championship in Pokémon.
@@DHVF28 the thing is with undercover from my experience playing against it It’s either laughably bad (especially when I play splatanas) or dumb and funny
I find it funny how before release, people were writing off weapons with Point Sensor, but now that Ninja Squid is used so much, they're getting praise for having that sub.
If the entire tier list revolves around splash and crab, we may have an issue here... That being said, the highlight of my day is harassing crabs with the wiper, so bring me more crab 🦀
Splash is the CAR smg (Titanfall 2, not Apex) of Splatoon 3. like literally, 1 to 1 the same reasons both are busted: rapid rate of fire, perfect accuracy, and a decent range. fittingly enough it also has the closest thing to a temporary Titan in Splatoon 3. basically, we all want to Watch Splash get Splatted... okay it's nowhere near as catchy as Watch Tone Die, that i'll admit.
I like how Chara made the teir list teirs based on what the weapons can do, instead of just low, mid, high and top teir. It really gets people thinking abt what those weapons are good for or what they can do instead of seeing a weapon in ‘mid teir’ and writing it off as unusable and not worth giving consideration to.
Everything is top tier and by extension, everything is bottom tier. There is only one tier because you can still make it with the worst weapon in the game, Under
Difference in Solo Q tends to be self-sufficient weapons do better. Which, in this meta, is mostly the same as competitive. Splash and Sloshing Machine still wreak havoc because people don't respect the damage and speed output.
Do not be ashamed for using the Splasho, is not your fault that they don't know how to balance their Game. I mean, they replaced Reef Lux Spam with AeroSpray Booyah Bomb spam lmao. Keep playing for fun ✨👌
I've always felt like one if the few naut mains who actually loves its kit so hearing your defend it really made me happy. Also thanks for the tip about object damage. I did not know that
it made me realize that object shredder might be worth running, wavebreaker goes from 13->10 hits, rainmaker goes from 32->29, and crab goes from 16->13, you could potentially trade with a crab.
@@delta_power3049 honestly, it ain't even a bad kit for nautilus, it'd prefer a cheap sub so it can continue doing nautilus things for longer, and inkstorm is basically a free ink tank re-fill, it doesn't help much, but the enemy still doesn't want to be in it's aura and you still get to use the nautilus during it's duration.
The kit for Nautilus 49 is not bad, but it is not optimal. Imagine if it came with Wave Breaker, a good anti-dualie, anti-blaster, anti-Crab deployable special. As long as this kit does not come with a sub weapon that is too ink-costly or too time-consuming (e.g., Fizzy Bombs are great but take time to optimally deploy), then a Naut user is all set!
absolutely agree with nautilus stuff. i started learning it in October after i never tried it in 2 and it's just so stupidly good, and the current kit still makes it really good at being good from a distance. if the gold kit is better i'm fully expecting to see it be the key part on a lot of teams in future seasons
one of my favorite videos so far, narrows the current meta fairly and really well in 10minutes, straight to the point very well explained and just very entertaining and there was barely anything to complain
I gravitated towards splash when i was still just learning the game because it was a shooter that felt nice to use and inked well, but now i feel dirty whenever i think about playing with one of my favourite weapons because it's become so meta dominant
Same thing but started with using neo splash it in 2. I just liked the main + sub combination. But with how busted crab(and by extension, splash) is I feel guilty/dirty using it. I want crab nerfed significantly (although not to the point it’s detrimental like reef or stamp is) but i hope they don’t touch the gun itself
@@Breeze926 Yeah I shouldn't, I guess it's just because I know it's an annoyance to a lot of people that they have to play against it all the time so I don't want to add to that lol
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate chara for this tier list!? But seriously though! Your tips and videos have been so helpful for dealing with 3s meta. The amount of people I’ve seen almost go insane because they think the game is too hard is insane. Thank you for all of the help you do for the competitive community
If I may add, I feel like Inkstrike is mostly meant as a support special since it doesn't net splats that much but it does force enemies to move and covers a lot of turf
I absolutely love snipewriter, the fact that its a support weapon and its also has 5 shots completely changed my playstyle. I just wish they give it point sensor or toxic mist
Comp meta is different from solo queue, where the typical amount of skill with weapons isn't near perfect in addition to random teams. It does depend on the skill level of the match what could work better, but for example crab is definitely way weaker in worse players' hands and can't put the same amount of pressure bc the team is unable to use the opportunity. Then booyah bomb needs less skill and can get something done easier, but then does fall off a bit in comp meta
As a nautilus main I actually find the kit kinda powerful because point sensor can be used to mark people before shooting them and ink storm is useful for forcing enemies out of an area.
tri strike can essentially be smoke bombs, super useful for pushes to the point where it just feels more efficient to remove my ninja squid for a bit of swim speed to keep up with the strikes and extra special charge. maximizing the time in between each strike to overall make enemies have to move or worry about moving for longer is the key
Would love a solo queue tier list. Team queue competitive mode isn't out yet as much as I love this video and find it super interesting to hear your perspective on this too
Splash o matic is important to make sure the game doesn’t have annoying backliners shredding through absolutely everything, it makes sure they can’t just pick off short range players freely and actually has them trying to get the back of the tank to kill them
with neo splash being my main since splat2, i absolutely love how busted it is lmao. i was already having fun being irritating and now thats been doubled
Yesterday was a bad day, all my sour mates sucked doodoo buttcheecks and I couldn't rlly get going with the explosher. But today in tricolor I popped OFF with this thing! I might genuinely be ready to declare this thing my main, it is ungodly ammounts of fun, more than I've had with this franchise or a videogame in general in a year or two, and I'm getting pretty good at it too! I haven't played anything exept this weapon and forge pro in like 3 weeks! (I gotta play E Liter again, it's been too long)
I already did adore the Sloshing Machine from the previous games, but it’s current kit is genuinely so much fun to play with! 😆 I already have 800+ wins with it, as it’s SUCH a excellent weapon to poke and intimidate people with, and Booyah Bomb is a great ‘panic button’ alongside using fizzy bomb for mobility (it’s just curling bomb but actually GOOD)
I dont know how to say this without sounding like a nerd but i really enjoyed the soundtrack of this video, especially the oblivia day theme playing in the background of the s tier. Is it safe to assume you’ve played xcx, or just heard the music?
Nautilus is my favorite splatling besides hydra. Its kinda goofy how people were getting on its kit when rain combos super well and point sensor lets you know where the goofs are so you can splat them.
As if crab wasn't broken enough it's also viable for defense and retreat. Or even hilarious kills by trapping an opponent against a wall and rolling over them
The rolling is so disrespectful though 💀 I got totally shut down by a crab when I used ink vac once bc it just rolled over me and I could do literally nothing to stop it, I didn’t recover from that moment for the whole match ☠️
As an ink brush main, I can safely say that the ink brush is at its best rn, I don’t play mush ranked because I prefer a more relaxed turf play but I’ve been so good at doing things I could never normally do before, Killer Wail 5.1 is so fantastic and perfect balance not being the best killer but amazing at applying pressure to the meta and longer range enemies. Ink brush has had splatbomb before but it is now perfect being paired with a long range special.
What also makes ttek good is that you can angle the three of your strikes so that they can land at the ground at the same time it can catch people off guard and easily wall people out if done close together
I used to be a die hard dualie main in S2 but I tried out the Tentatek Splattershot a few days ago and I haven't used anything else since. Feels like it was made for me
With the new buffs, I'm incredibly hype for naut. Soloing booyahs is now viable. And it's now easier to combo point sensor into the main because you can output a lethal four shots with less charge time. I think it's definitely worth calling out how much naut benefits from the tracking of point sensor, too, because of its fast kill time even at range. Maybe this is partly just because I'm a weaker player who can't track enemies super well, but I find that the tracking lets me connect much more reliably in all kinds of scenarios and for naut that's really, really valuable for winning fights or sniping from a distance.
I've never really played splattershot jr outside of when first starting the game and it being my only weapon so I was really surprised how much I've been enjoying custom jr as of late. Especially when defending in tricolour matches today it was really great for getting into mid and just walling people out of approaching any further. with its painting abilities and its kit, this thing has serious map control capabilities.
Custom Jr is insane. Like, I've only been getting so-so results with most other weapons but as soon as I picked Custom Jr, I just started absolutely shredding the enemy team. Gotta feel bad for dualies though. Like, once Splash is no longer top tier, Custom Jr could very well be the next dominant weapon which means that those poor guys are gonna be in Wavebreaker hell.
facing a triple custom jr in this splatfest made me pick it up to see for myself how it plays. Then I played it to the end. Insane how well it can stand it's ground, walling of the other team, while also being able to open a path in. Even undertow was a very good custom jr map for the attacking team: toss a torpedo on one side, go in on the other side of the wall, kill of the defender, wave the middle, kill off anybody at middle with wave combo, pick up the ultra signal. rinse and repeat
It's so good because of its object damage, which is really beneficial vs crab tank. If crab gets nerfed, we might see wiper drop a little bit in terms of competitive viability, but don't let that discourage you from using the weapon!
i wasn't excited about the nautilus kit initially, but it's at least just a consistent kit for an overall weapon that doesn't have many real weaknesses. i bet it's even better in solo queue where point sensor has a bit more utility (doubles as a replacement for enemy location callouts).
About the naut having unique object shredder damage compared to other splatlings makes me want a video on all weapons that have above average object shredding
lets be clear: more than just crab has to be nerfed. the main weapon is comically overtuned and if it was changed from 28 > 24 damage, the main would still be insanely good. the sploosh has high damage low accuracy. it just makes sense for splash to be the other way around.
Before I say this, I’ve not played in any competitive splatoon, so all of my experience comes from solo queue I’m anarchy battles, so chara probably knows more than me on this I feel like the splattershot pro deserves more credit than it gets. It may not kill as fast or get crab tank as fast as the splash, I still feel like it’s has good enough strengths not to be completely overlooked. For one, it outranges the all of the top tier shooters, and while 52 gal can still approach it with its walls the splash is completely walled out by the pro because it can kill the splash before it gets close enough to start dealing damage. Second, having crab tank, even if it cant get it as quick as other weapons, its still a very good special, and can be helped with special charge. Last, while the angle shooter is terrible, it still has some niche uses, as you don’t have to hit someone with it to mark them. Also while it doesn’t do much physical damage, it has a secret upside of doing psychological damage to e-liters, as it just barely outranges them, meaning you can scare e-liters into displacing themselves for very little ink, and while it doesn’t work on particularly brave e-liters you can always just keep hitting them with it until they have to move, because they’ll get splatted. Again, I don’t have any experience outside of solo queuing for anarchy battles, so some things I’ve said may be completely nullified by some common practices in competitive splatoon, but it would be pretty funny for a traditionally trash weapon to be up there with the splash, so I really hope it was just overlooked due to its bad history For some reason I always feel like I need some conclusion but this is a RU-vid comment and not an essay so I don’t know why I think that
Just curious based on the BGM in the video, have you played the Xenoblade games(I noticed Roaming the Wastes and Erythia Sea in the video)? Or is it your editor who decided the BGM here? Either way, great music choice.
@@bobross2618 it's not just about which weapon is at the top it's also about (the friends we made along the way) the differences between this list and a solo q list
@@brentus668 bit late but it would be pretty much the same except the more independent weapons would be higher up than the ones that rely on coordination
While crap is stupidly easy to use and hard to counter properly, it’s still satisfying to splat one from behind while they are unaware of your presence. ^^
It’s hilarious to me that my “splatoon 3 main” ended up being the best weapon in the game (for now)! I switched to tetras because u got bored with how oppressive splash is :p
I'm surprised that people aren't using the triple inkstrike to push. I don't usually play ranked and I've figured out that I need to spend time inking before I get to the center so I can use my special to push the enemy back.
my comment has very little to do with the actual content (which is well executed as always common chara W) but hateno theme at 5:20 brought my mind instant peace
Looking back on this the tier list has changed so much... Cooler in the 2nd lowest tier? Pencil in the second lowest tier? SPLASH was the best weapon? the meta has definitely evolved to be so much more balanced.
I usually play frontline weapons but when I tried out the Nautilus to make myself try a different playstyle I actually enjoyed the kit. The point sensors and rain helped more than a few times with assisting my team in getting splats. And to any Naut players who hate the kit, be thankful you didn't get Angle Shooter. That thing is so terrible I keep forgetting its name and calling it Line Marker because absolutely nobody throws them. Complete waste of your ink lol
Real issue we are having with splat 3 sofar is the major lack of weapons and lack of frequent weapon balance. I'd rather play vs ink armor and stingray in splat 2 currently than going against splash custom jr ttek and machine every match.
Yeah I’m an eliter main so armor would be a nightmare for me but I’d rather go back to where we were against the reeflux spammers than all there’s aerospray booyah bombs rn.
I think it’s kind of misleading to say that the nautilus main weapon matches well against the splash because they have to resort to burst bomb spam in order to beat them. Burst bombs are an extremely good weapon, and the shot spread on the nautilus is small but does put you at a disadvantage when trying to fight a splash at range. In addition, a missed burst bomb still paints your feet, forcing you to do something about that in order to move again. I have a lot of hours on Nautilus in Splatoon 2 and 3, and don’t mind the current supportive kit, but I do notice how obviously outclassed it is by the burst bomb splash, regardless of the special weapon.
Unless they add a new roller that does better then Splat Roller for me which it has to be able to roll into people and splat them and flick good then I ain’t switching. 😂 Although the most important thing about any weapon is just cause the weapon is good doesn’t mean the individual user is gonna be good with it. Flingza is a bit slow for my tastes and I have used it enough to get the holographic sticker for it. I’m just better with Splat Roller. Carbon Deco is weak as it bounces off of people so it’s not good for me to use. So hope they add more rollers that are as good as Splat Roller but with better kits as the bubbler can be destroyed so easily making it kinda pointless sometimes. I only use it to recharge my ink mostly. For me a roller has to be able to flick and roll into people and splat them for me to use it good.
I like how nobody knows that the 1 worst outclassed weapon is an S-tier weapon on 1 condition. You must be a God at Asura's Wrath highest difficulty. A God of button mashing.
