Ranking the Bosses of No More Heroes III from Worst to Best 

Yeah the Letz Shaking got old really fast. Left a bad taste in my mouth once it became a regular thing

It's also so much more challenging and skill based than the other NMH games. I liked that I had to be very cautious and could get out of very few tight situations by mashing.

The writing is definitely where I felt it most, although the cleaner visual style and lack of stages/memorable music were issues for me too

Agreed. I could see the angle they were coming from most of the time, but a lot of things just ended up falling flat. There was a cluster-fuck of ideas, some good, some bad, but none had enough time on screen to really do anything for me.

Glad you liked the video! Persona 5 Royal, Undertale, FF7 Remake, and Nier Automata are all on my radar at the moment too, vids on those will be out eventually. My favorite game of all time is Doom Eternal, which I covered twice back in the day. Just the coolest looking designs of any game along with my favorite gameplay and soundtrack, and super cool developers too. Hard act to beat imo -Alex

@@Cytonox Doom Eternal is an excellent FPS and easily my favorite from that franchise. I found the level design and aesthetics much more varied and interesting than Doom (2016), and it felt like the perfect culmination of the series. I didn't realize you'd played FF7 Remake. I haven't played it yet, myself (only watched a Let's Play of it when it released), but I have played a bunch of the games over the years. For a long time, the original FF7 was actually my personal favorite game, but it's dropped down a long ways over time. It's still in my top 50, but there are just a lot of other games I've played since then that have overtaken it. I'm pretty sure that was due to it being my introduction to JRPGs as a kid, and it wasn't until I started playing more games in the genre that I stopped placing it at or even near the top of my list. From the FF games I've played, my personal ranking is: 1. FF Tactics (1997) 2. FF6 (1994) 3. FF9 (2000) 4. FF7 (1997) 5. FF5 (1992) 6. FF4 (1991) 7. FF10 (2001) FF Tactics is actually among my top 10 favorite games and is my favorite PS1 game, even beating out Symphony of the Night for that honor. It was largely overshadowed by FF7 due to that game's success and Tactics' more complex gameplay and punishing difficulty, but I actually think it has both the best gameplay and story in the entire series. Square-Enix is supposedly remastering FF Tactics for modern systems, so hopefully that will garner it more attention.

I don’t think I’d do a full video on it, but I could give you a rough approximation of my list in a comment if I thought on it a bit. Gotta do something right now but when I get back I’ll type it out

Would be cool for sure, we can hope. I dunno if anything can really capture what I liked so much about 1 and 2 anymore though tbh. I think that sort of drab wii game art style and brand of humor are hard to replicate now

@@Cytonox Oh, thank God. For a moment there, I thought I was stupid. But as for your placement of Destroyman in this game, I can understand why it's placed that low. But for some reason, it just feels so therapeutic for me to just wail on him. And I didn't even play the first two games.

@@tommynelson1616 He looks super cool and is kinda chunky, that probably helps. He really isn’t that awful tbh I’m just salty about how he was handled

@@Cytonox Fair enough. Also, I agree with you on your gripes about Gold Joe. His voice alone just makes beatin' him down all the more satisfying to me. Plus, I loved gettin' into sword clashes with the guy. (Pause)

In fact if it has an effect, if you and he are the same color, you will move away from each other, but if you are different colors, you will move closer to each other. That's the mechanics of that battle

I'm with you, I hate this visual style. Switch games as a whole are way too glowy, for lack of a better word. I loved how the wii nmh games looked, I think I just miss that era of graphics as a whole really. It's a shame every game that comes out on the switch looks like this now (bayonetta 3 is another game that suffered an unquantifiable visual downgrade from the past games imo)

@@Cytonox man it’s like you read my mind. Didn’t look too much into bayo 3 but when I saw it had that same glowy/glossy aesthetic, I was also pretty put off by it. It’s like that whole trend of “hyper-realistic graphics” from the last era is popping up again. IMO, a game with a stylistic art style will hold up 1000x better than a game focused on flexing hardware (and dating itself hard because of it). I’m glad I could meet someone who shares some of the same sentiments about this game as I do. Thinking so much on the flaws of 3 just makes me want to go replay 1 and 2 now, lol.

And if you haven't play tsa. I recomend it to you. It worts more the 3 that... this (Not convinced yet? Well hear me out. The reason why i was so hyppe about nmh3. It is because of NMH TSA)

@@shadowarrior5928 tbh TSA was my least favorite game in the series. I didn't enjoy the gameplay at all and only beat it out of obligation as a big fan of the mainline games. It had an awesome reveal trailer and some interesting story bits but that was sorta it. I enjoyed the racing game in the world where you fight Smoking King though, that was cool. Doppleganger was an awesome character also, it's a shame that they made him a pointless sidequest instead of a hidden boss

I misread a comment on a video and thought he was gonna be an ally to Travis going into the game and thought that would’ve been cool, bummed it went how it did. And I still like the game for the record, but felt like there were a lot of choices made I disagreed with strongly

@@Cytonox Yeah it definitely made a lot of decisions I did not expect and there was plenty of wasted potential, for example speed city not being one of the islands, but overall I think it's the best game in the series and my personal favorite videogame of all time. No more heroes 3 doesn't reflect the feel of No More Heroes 1, but neither did 2 or TSA. Each game is the best at being itself and that's why I excuse so much dissapointment
