A lot of trophy tax here but not a bad list. If we’re talking ability alone as a midfielder Gerrard is tier 1 for me. The guy kept Liverpool relevant for 15 years. Ultimate big game player, only player to score in UEL UCL FA LEAGUE cup finals. An absolute monster. The one season he played where KDB played his whole career he scored 25 goals (which Kdb haas never closely got to). Kdb has also been playing with a much much better team.

I have to say, I can't have Seedorf in Tier 3. He is at Tier 2 minimum. He has the ability, he passes the eye test, he has the trophy cabinet, he has the longevity and fitness. I just don't see how some of the guys in Tier 3 or even Tier 2 can be above him. Seeing him on the same tier as Fabregas blows my mind. What Özil did so many midfielders couldn’t even Dream of doing. He is THE greatest CAM in our generation. Only issue is he wasn’t a stats player and his longevity wasn’t the greatest unlike KDB who is also amazing but had better stats and longevity but personally he is no where on Özil’s level.
KDB is head and shoulders above Ozil, stats ability and longevity, only things Ozil has is the World Cup, other trophies kdb just washes him. Ozil best year with Madrid cr7 and co is inferior to kdb at Wolfsburg playing with dost

I dont know how you think gerrard and scholes have a better international career than lampard. Lampard was in team of the tournament in 2004 euros. 2nd in the ballon d'or so he ticks the peack box. G/A ticks the box. IQ ticks the box. Passing absolutely underated in his game and defensively aswell underatted. UCL big performances for chelsea ticks that box. 15 year stretch of being 1 of if not the best midfielder in the prem so longevity he ticks. I can hear lampard not above scholes and gerrard even tho i disagree. But him in table 3 is disguisting.
Me personally, I find it hard to compare and rank retired and current players with each other for several reasons. - I’m too young to have watched all these players when they were active and in their prime. I can’t base it on clips and stories. Naturally I’m more familiar with current players - Football is changing constantly. These players played in different eras - Active players still have time to develop and become greater with time - I think with time, our view of certain players change and we start to believe they were better/worse than they actually were I know this is just for fun and it was a fun stream to watch! I’m not trying to make it into a serious thing. I’m just saying that for me, it’s hard to compare

Cazorla has 81 caps for Spain btw in the same generation as Xavi, Iniesta etc. He has two euros. Little harsh i'd say, but I get his trophies at club level hurt him. When you consider all the categories you mentioned at the start of the video - peak level, overall talent, longevity etc i'd say he deserves to be a little higher. Matter of a opinion at the end of the day, as you say his name doesn't carry as much weight and that's part of the reason i'd say he's underrated.

Personally, Kroos> Modric. We’re finally seeing how crucial Kroos was, the type of players like Xavi, Pirlo, Kroos, Scholes. The dictators. They are important, technical and difficult jobs and the sheer technique needed and importance to the team is unmatched. 2. Roy Keane is so underrated, his football iq and understanding of the game is one reason why he made a such a successful captain and leader. 3. Schweinsteiger is underrated, was such a key cog in Bayern’s midfield for years, he is Bayern’s most underrated legend by far 4. Nedved was never really that great, idc about his ballon d’or, he didn’t deserve it, tier 4 is fair. Mascherano was better at barca than Liverpool imo, and that’s coming from a Lfc fan 5. Rodri is not tier 3 yet because he’s not had enough longevity, give him some time and he’s easy tier 3 6. Bernardo is underrated, there’s a reason all city players acknowledge that Bernardo is the manager’s favourite. Pep loves him, because he is everything you need. He’s versatile, clutch, technical, intelligent, can pass, dribble, shoot. He’s the complete package, and he’s been performing consistently for 6 years already, he’s more influential than gundogan imo.

It’s tough with Modric and Kroos. Modric has so many iconic moments in the Champions League, all timer performances that push Madrid over the line. Kroos and Modric is a duo for a reason. Like genuinely take Modric out from these Madrid teams and they wouldn’t win as many UCLs as they did.

Lampard is definitely table 3 minimum (personally I’d put him 2 because I’m biased) , who else is scoring 18-20 goals a season from central midfield. He didn’t play as a 10 and was out scoring Drogba on multiple occasions. Jude bagged 16-17 in a season ONCE and people have him as balon dor favourite Frank did it for ATLEAST 8 seasons on the bounce
Özil table 4? He is easily better than anyone on table 3 and talent wise you say table 2? lol he is easily table 1 talent wise he did things that even iniesta couldn’t do.

De Bruyne was amazing in the 2018 world cup, and was basically a game away from winning it (either France or Belgium would dog walk Croatia in the final). He's the greatest midfielder of all time, his production is so far beyond anybody else. How can you put KDB in Tier 2 for his Belgium career and then put Modric in Tier 1? Modric's best achievement was that final that was literally luck of the draw in terms of the side of the bracket. KDB and Belgium were WAY more of a fight for that France team

Facts 28 year old rodri who’s only had 2 years at the very top in table 3 over seedorf makelele and Fabregas who did it for ten years doesn’t sit right with me even if he’s the better player and what he’s done is unbelievable

Did it in multiple leagues while winning in all the leagues he has been. Won a UEFA player of the year in 2004, Isco literally never won anything individually. Was he ever even on the top 30 players of the year, in any year?
Roy Keane should be in Table 4 OR 5. He was an old-school midfielder whose main attribute was his physicality AND leadership. While he had a commanding presence on the pitch, he lacked the technical skills and passing range that modern defensive midfielders possess. In today’s game, I don’t think he would start for any of the top four teams.
Essien is amazing but he didn't have as much longevity, wasn't at the same level for his peak as other players in his position. Great player but not as good as others
Schweinsteiger had 5 years (09/10 when LVG converted him into a central player to 13/14) when i think he was a very good midfielder but lets be real there were always at minumum 5 guys in that position superior at any given point

Pogba should be at a higher table. Gave 10+ years of high quality football for multiple clubs and on the international stage. Passing, dribbling, long shots, defensive ability, underrated finishing and versatile. Focusing on numbers doesn’t do him justice and he still trumps most all time great CM’s in G/A per game. And he spent 6 seasons in the worst United era. He doesn’t come in a two-man package like Iniesta/xavi or Kroos/modric. He’s just him.

Decent list overall but you can see where Lyes completely disregards his own criteria. Isco, Thiago and Verratti have no right being over Gundogan, Schweinsteiger and Vidal. Isco spent 9 whole years at Madrid and Lyes spent 1/3 of the vid waxing lyrical about 2 seasons, where he was good, yes, but never was he even considered a top 2 midfielder for them. Verratti gave you 35+ games a season maybe twice, 3 times in his whole career, same could be said about Thiago. This list feels like he only really cares for the eye test criteria.
Cesc’s one of my all time favorites but his barca spell was super underwhelming for me, and although he’s got three international trophies he was more of a complementary piece to those teams rather than one of the main centerpieces

Man City players get benefit of the doubt more than players on any other team. Players like Gundogan and John Stones spent as much time injured or on the bench as they spent playing, but they're great for a few months and their team wins so they must be world class.
Im a Juventini and I don't like to defend Milan players but you can't put Casemiro above Clarence Seedorf. Recency bias is crazy here ... Seedorf won 4 Champions leagues and was a key player in every team he played and in terms of talent and overall he is the best of the 2. ( In terms of longevity Seedorf was better too)
As a overall footballer, Zidane aint better than iniesta. Zidane only has better leadership over iniesta. Iniesta is better dribbler, close control, passing, calmness, movement, clutch moments, better cv, more trophies, wow moments in every match, never had a bad game, motm in euro final/world cup final/champions league final. Traits I think zidane is better than iniesta at- Strength Both footed Heading Balance Ball control Goal scoring Leadership And I noticed throughout zidane's career, every team he's played at he's been arguably one of or their best player period, and zidane was never a bench player in his career and he played in some stacked teams with insane footballer's like R9, nedved, figo, del piero, Beckham, carlos, Henry. I can remember the likes of edmilson, deco keeping iniesta on the bench in the early 2000s at barca, no punt intended.
Other then champions league success what does Isco have that someone like Bernardo Silva has . Both attacking minded midfielders who are elite dribblers and very technical players that don’t really have a standout season.
Modric is a more complete player. Can defend, control, attack, pass and score. Has one of the best engines and is constantly running. Those tackles are a joy to behold. He has the moments, the carry job and the trophy cabinet. KDB is in no way shape or form better than Modric and that's coming from someone who loves KDB.
