This is one of the few channels I watch on a regular basis that is helping me. It's helping me to stay in a good mental health place. All that's going on has made what I go through harder. But it's channels like these that helped me to hope and dream again. I haven't been to Disney World since I was 12. But I hope to go again in my 30s. Thank you for all the hard work you guys do. It doesn't go unnoticed.
I love this channel too for similar reasons. I use YT and Travel Channel as I have medical and cognitive disabilities would make it hard to travel again. In my case I try to look at the upside of traveling this way, I can be in my jammies, it's free, well it's $16 a month because I have YT premium account so no commercials and can use across multiple devices. I hope you make it DW and other places, if that's what you truly want. In my case I was able to Disney in my 20's and London and Paris then, too, so while I've never been to California and am bummed about that, I've made my peace that I did what I could do when I could and channels like this help relax and escape of things that I'm okay that I'll never be able to do. Peace
Aj, you guys completely blew it on this one. The most expensive Disney food is by far the Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich. I spend a couple thousand dollars in room and tickets to come to Florida annually, just so I can eat those sandwiches in their native environment.
Have you considered using RU-vid's time stamp chapter feature? I love showing people your videos but it's hard hunting down what I intended to show sometimes
My husband took me to Remy the night we got engaged. The service was absolutely amazing, and if I didn’t like anything on the menu, they let me try something else ❤️
I know! We’re all complaining about how expensive a Mickey Pretzel is! I feel like WDW is messed up class system. You’ve got the truly poor, those who work there in servitude, the upper middle class (yeah, big income gap between the two) and then the 1% (an even bigger wage gap) These are the people who stay at the most expensive rooms at the deluxe resorts, take a cab to the front of the park instead of waiting on free Disney transport, $100+ per person meals, $100+ on various other experiences like dessert parties, light sabers and bibidi bobity boutique. They rent out those Tomorrowland cabanas when they have them and pay the thousands of dollars to have a VIP tour group and jump the line.
UmmYeahOk I’m proud to use the free bus system! LOL Joking aside, I feel so blessed to even be able to go as much as I do. The good thing about Disney is that you can go on a budget or way on the opposite and do total luxury. There are some out there who dream of going once in a lifetime so we are all very lucky (assuming most of us here who follow Disney bloggers have gone more than a few times).
Penelope Pitstop taking a cab to the park was honestly brought up because someone who had a rich uncle claimed he would stay at the Grand Floridian and take a taxi to Magic Kingdom. This idea just blew my mind. And, Disney caught on, and started offering those Minnie vans. If people want to flitter away all their money, it better be Disney that gets to pocket it.
You’ve made me even more excited for our meal at Remy on our cruise in July 2021 (was March 2020, then July 2020, now 2021)! We had always planned to splurge on a date night at Remy, but with our cruise pushed to next year, we’ll be able to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary too. Cannot wait!
The lobster at Narcoossee's was one of the best meals I've had. The included corn bake and asparagus were also really good. Watching the fireworks from there topped it off.
Going through this list, I'm like, "Well if I had the money, I'd probably give it a shot." Then you get to number 1, and I'm trying to think of anything that would be worth $15,000 for one dinner, and I just can't. Even if I had a few billion to burn through I'd still struggle to justify dropping $15,000 on one dinner.
It’s been like 14 months since I’ve been at Disney. Most food is really good! I love the rockin roller coaster ride, and a lot of the rollercoasters. I also like avatar! I hope I get to go again soon!
When I visited Disney World for the first time back in the 90's, my second favorite restaurant was Victoria and Alberts. The absolute best was the Empress Room on the Empress Lilly. They had the some of the most amazing food, decor and service available at Disney World. Too bad that riverboat no longer exists as it was the top eatery in Dsney World during that time.
Its EXTREMELY expensive but if you want to throw all your money into food I would defiantly recommend Paddlefish at Disney Springs. When we went our whole party split everything, and I must say it was all amazing. The table-side guacamole is delicious and creamy, the lobster corndogs where crispy and flavourful, the Steak was HUGE and seasoned to perfection, the Crab legs where steamed perfectly (some of the best I have ever had, and the scallops where perfect and buttery. Honestly I would recommend it to everyone, but it is a huge expense, and a more upscale place.
My mom will ask for ketchup at a steakhouse no matter what kind of steakhouse it is whether it’s upscale or like an outback but if it’s more upscale the waiter is horrified but she’ll ask in such a sweet and endearing way that they magically pull out the ketchup A few minutes later
My meal at the V&A was world class and (probably but hopefully not) once in a lifetime. The dining room was so elegant and every course was exquisite. I can not understand why anyone would want the chef's table experience. What satisfaction is there in paying a supplement to sit in a stainless steel kitchen and listen to someone explain their job to you? Pedantic and dull. Give me that sumptuous dining room anyday!
When people come to Disney World they usually save and save to splurge for the few days they are there. My friend took his daughter there for a few days and spent about $6,000.00 including hotel, food, and souvenirs. He saved this money just for this excursion with his daughter. A Priceless memory for him and her. The ambiance of the Park is also part of the price $ as are the the rides and the experience with the staff ~ I hope Disneyland re-opens soon. So many happy memories are created there.
I have done Remy on the Disney Dream. It was an amazing experience. I added the caviar and wine pairing to my dinner. Cost me about $300 (I went solo) but it was so worth it. I literally could not make it through all seven courses. I had to pass the cheese trolly. The “tinkerbell dust” added to the champagne was really cool. I would do that again, especially since I can’t ever get a reservation to V&A’s.
My wife and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary at WDW. We are leaving for Orlando in just a few days. When we go to Oga's I'm definitely ordering a beer flight.
We've done chef's table at V&A and it was without question the most incredible meal and dining experience I've ever had. Takumi Tei I felt was almost as special for way less. They have (had?) what I thought of as beef nirvana with their Nikomi Waygu. We plan on doing the Takumi-Tei chef's table next. Takumi-Tei waygu offerings are incredible in general.
I'm sorry but can AJ do a video retelling the story of the chef at Remy's that came out cause he didnt like her request, like that has to be a good fun story!
We went on a Disney cruise and have been to both U.S. parks, and on the cruise there was no need to spend that extra money on the specialty meals, the food you get that is included in your cruise is excellent and the servers were great about working with allergies and requests.
I had to have the Rancor beer flight. Love the set. Went to Victoria and Alberts on my Honeymoon and when I was finished the 400$ meal I went to the Quick Serve to eat!
OK, AJ, I love your videos, but seriously, almost everything on your list is either "currently not available" or the restaurants serving Wagu Beef is currently closed. Makes me hate this virus pandemic even more than before! Luckily, I can enjoy my menu choices for those restaurants that we have selected and reserved for our October trip to Disney. P.S. Yes, I've tried caviar and yuck! Not as good as those fish eggs you get on your sushi. I'm also not a big drinker so me spending $12 for a cocktail will be few and far between during my dinner excursions.
I wouldn't pay that much for oxtail soup because it's only expensive due to supply and demand and not intrinsically better than other similar soups. I had bone broth soup made at a top restaurant once and it was extremely good. They gave us a tour of the kitchen and explained how long it takes to make. Sloooow simmer I guess. I'd order that over any other soup. Yum.
My husband and I have never been to Disney World, but we hope to take our daughter there in a few years. Binging this channel to keep the dream alive and to help me plan accordingly lol
The truffle soup at Monsieur Paul is almost the identical recipe as the original one at Paul Bocuse's restaurant outside of Lyon. I asked my waiter. The only difference is that there is no foie gras, banned by Disney. But $29 is a lot cheaper than 85 euros.
You missed the wagyu beef burger at the brown derby in Hollywood studios...that is the best burger and it's only $24. We love Narcossis at the grand Floridian and we just had a wonderful lunch at be our guests!! Worth the $62 per person in the West room but we also used our annual pass discount too! Thanks AJ and Bappy Hirthday!! (2 days late).... Dawn
Some of these prices are ludicrous and quality is not worth the money. My mother had a saying ‘A fool and their money are easily parted.’ I’ve eaten at a few of these places, Narcoosees is well overrated. The Wave is best combination of quality and value at Disney hands down.
Holy wow. This video makes me super glad my entire family has that "let's just grab a Mickey pretzel and then head to Space Mountain" mentality. We love the snacks at Disney World, but eating is pretty low on our priorities list. We're there for the rides!
Here's to hoping this closed stuff will open back up one day down the road. With refurb happening at Poly you may want to pick another fav than Ohana. That's a year out likely.
This food looks so good. But the drinks with the souvenir cups are kind of annoying, because I don't want to carry around glasses all day at Disneyworld.
Disney is working on a comprehensive list of where to go and what to ask for, there have always been "secret menus" in tucked away places for people with food allergies and vegans, you just have to ask. You usually get handed up guest services, they are amazingly good at that. As someone and they will put you in touch with someone that knows where to find a good vegan meal in your price point. Ask if Chef TJ is around, he was at Cape May but its closed.
When I go to Disney World I'd rather just eat the cotton candy, candy apple and Turkey Leg. I don't need a James Beard award-winning Chef to make my dinner.
