This is one of my FAVE Mariah songs. I REALLY recommend u react to her song “Bliss” is u wanna hear her high notes. And if u wanna hear her best runs I recommend reacting to “I am Free”, “Forever”, and “Lead the Way”. The riffs and agility in these 3 songs is UNPARALLELED almost, and I say almost only because there’s much more Mariah songs with comparable agility to those but it would be a lot to include. Also usually her best agile acrobatic feats are done live. However if u wanna react to songs that hold more emotion and rawness from her I recommend “I still Believe” there’s a music video for it but also react to its live performance either “live at Oprah 1998” or “live at David Letterman show 1998” they hold SOOO much emotion, lastly another performance that’s very emotional and raw is “If only u knew/Over the rainbow medley live tribute 1998” her voice is also VERY raspy here, her riffs are INSANE, and her tone is like GOLDDDD
Love the Mariah reaction. Big like! This song is actually written about a real life experience of hers and she basically would risk her life to meet the person she wrote this song about (Derek Jeter). They had something going on at the time. She shared the story in her memoir a few years ago. The song “The Roof” also paints a beautiful picture of a night they had together. It’s from the same album, “Butterfly”. I really think it’s one of the best albums of all time.
