It's Underwater Wednesday, so that means new lures to test in my 90 gallon aquarium! Today, we're testing Rapala's brilliant bait, the Jigging Rap, but we're not just focusing on the original version. Fall rates are different on all of these also. The shadrap one is definitely lighter or cause of the different material it falls slower it seems

I noticed that, too. The difference in fall rate on the Jigging Shad Rap is probably due to the fatter body, if I had to guess.

Would be nice for the unfamiliar if we could see the action, and how you are inducing it, not just the bait

@@AnglingUploaded thanks a bunch. Being able to correlate the action of the bait to how much the rod is being manipulated would be great. Of course line selection, rod blank material and weight matter too.

Not really impressed at all with the action. I think they do well, simply because they are in the horizontal position, like minnows are. I think a Salmo Chubby darter would be better.

Not much impresses me about ice fishing lures, but I think for a vertical presentation, jigging rap style baits are pretty darn erratic. I'm sure that's why they can be so productive for anglers.
