That is a fat brown. Looks like a Great Lakes brown. I live in Michigan and we get some big ones in the rivers, but the the big lakes produce giants. 20+ pounds isn't unusual, the state record is 41 lbs.
I can’t believe some of the comments below, why doesn’t everyone show some polite appreciation rather than petty criticism. For those that can do better please post your vids, I’m keen to see how y’all do it.
Being from the U.S. I don't envy other countries for their resources, but god damn you guy's make me jealous with the size of brown trout. We need to go up in the hills/mountains to find them and it look like you in a very low elevation. how low in elevation can you find brown in AU.? We need to head to at least 4,000ft. above sea level here in California.
Western Victoria, most of the coast west of Melbourne is flat for the best part, some of the rolling hills have little elevation, many of these also streams also hold sea run trout
I'm also from the U.S. (Buffalo, NY) and last fall I caught a few browns just about that size, I guess it depends on where you live. I fish in Olcott NY during the fall salmon/trout season and have seen many of the same size or larger hooked from the rivers/lakes around here.
Maybe he isnt high and mighty like the fly fishermen I run into and plans on eating that brown. Believe it or not, there are some of us that actually eat trout. I've been eating Colorado rainbows all spring long. When I catch a pig, I smile at the fly fishermen as they watch in horror while I bleed the fish out and take it home to my wife.
@@fishnhunt3488 well said my man people are so judgemental he went and caught his own food how many people this day in age can say that not alot. only to happy to go get something from the shop with God knows what in it. Each to their own.
Fly guys miss out on delicious fish tacos! I brought 2 browns home today. One 16" and the other 22". Dont feel a bit bad because that's what lifes all about.
I fly fish. I eat em'. Most guys I know keep some release some. I usually let the big mature ones go (any species) because they are the spawners. Best eaters are the mid-sized for most of the species we fish for here in Michigan.
Great fish handling skills ....... not You spent time telling us about the bloody lure while the fish was lying on the bank after having the hook ripped out of its mouth. Way to go
