Very engaging and enjoyable! I absolutely loved how movement was done and how each unit was handled individually rather than everyone moves then shoots then charges etc. Although I felt you had to concentrate on it to keep track it was still not too fast paced and rapid fire. My only ask is that you explain what mission type you're doing, what will get you victory points (That's a victory point!) And it would really help if you said when someone got a victory point rather than show the total at the end of each turn. Right at the end I was thrown off by the sudden jump to 6 and 5 victory points and felt that it could have been explained a little clearer? All that aside, really loved it and I hope more rapid fire battle reports will be coming soon! Perhaps even a campaign game, fought over a planet by competing armies like vigilus? Although large games might be harder to make rapid fire, they would be much appreciated however, the 750ish style point game was really good as well! Can't wait for more!
They explained that Ben holding 2 out of 3 of the objective boxes (worth 3 VPs a piece, also mentioned) is the reason lewis (holding 1 box) lost when he failed to roll a 3+ on the "continue mission" roll. Resulting in Ben's end game points jumping to 6, while lewis, who already had 2 VPs, only jumped to 5. Hope this helps, they said the reasons for the scoring but I can see how it was easy to miss if you weren't paying enough attention.
@@denimandlead7725 Yeah I get what you mean. Pros of rapid fire is that it's engaging and not being but the cons are you have to really pay attention rather than put one on and paint whilst watching.
I don't play warhammer miniatures or anything but I found this video really easy to follow and never found the points confusing. It was explained pretty well, Lewis had 2 VP from first blood and killing ben's leader, each of the 3 crates is worth 3vp for whoever controls them when the game ends, meaning ben had 0+6 points and lewis had 2+3 points. I feel like, if they did a real idiots guide to victory points during each of their videos, that you'd lose a lot of the flavour and fun then put in their videos, to make up the lost time explaining everything.
I really like the sound effects. They add quite a lot to the flavour but the background pewpew become annoying about 10 min in, plain music or ambient sound may serve better, in my "subjective" opinion.
@@AverageJoeGaming Just rewatched the part of the video that Synersys mentioned here and I can't hear any "Background pewpew" at all. If it helps, I personally thought the use of sound effects was great.
@@Pattoe During (I think) Lewis's turn, or maybe the shooting phase, there was a muted laser/plasma fire sound effect they used as backing, but i think it might've got a *little* old, just because it was used so much. If they'd used it like the genestealer screeching it'd be way better.
This was cool as someone who doesnt play 40k and doesnt want to watch a super long video. But i’d understand if people would like to see all the rolls and decisions
One new, and well earned subscriber! Love the fast paced style, the narrative, and the low points! Made for an interesting and attention-holding format, please make more!
Really great to see a new take on the battle report. Way to set yourselves apart. I recommend keeping the narrative focus high, and the banter moments a primary focus. The magus death story was just priceless, way better then just showing dice rolls and the grumbling as you removed the model. They little story explanations where the shining moments.
This is an amazing format! A hundred times more engaging and enjoyable than the regular run-of-the-mill batreps many other channels do here on RU-vid. The only thing I would add personally eould be some quick flashback cuts to reactions from very specific dice rolls (such as Ben rolling double sixes twice).
I like that they're using High Rollers "Idle Champions" dice. There must be like a million of 'em rattling around in YogTowers, getting into the carpets and colonising the air vents.
An excellent format, as someone with not a whole lot of free time I find that this format is much more suitable for me, and has no 'downtime' in excitement, which Warhammer often does, both to play and watch. I would suggest though that if a full live recording happens, it would be great to have cuts to footage of the really crucial dice rolls, just so you can see the players' reactions. Lots of potential for excitement and salt.
Some people are complaining that you have taken out all the rolling and other stuff but honestly if this video was an hour long there is no way a lot of people would watch it (including me). this style is more interesting you still completely understand whats going on and we don't need to sit through 20 minutes of admin, if people are that desperate for watching people roll dice just play it yourselves!
Love this format. This feels like you guys are doing an after action report to your boss or teaching a class of new recruits. Makes a nice change, also love the sound effects. Please, please, please do more.
Enjoyed the rapid fire battle report format a lot! 2 notes I'd like to throw in to improve some tactics around the board and that I see a lot of people tend to mistake from time to time. 1. Rolling perils on double 6's means you suffer perils and cannot cast anything else in the turn, but what you cast still goes off. 2. As a World Eater player, melee is complicated! But something to note is that you get 3 inches pile in before fighting, and 3 consolidation after fighting! This includes even if a charging unit doesn't have anything to fight as they always activate on a charge. While this is only to the closest enemy, it's still big. Get that extra movement in, it can be crucial! :D
This is an excellent format! I'd like to see the dice rolling though (especially the double sixes into double sixes reaction). Also the bases of Lewis' models are really nice, love the blue grass.
Loving this format! Love both of those armies too, can't decide between Genestealers and Skiitari, so I might just let you guys decide with the winner xD
Not going for the basic bitch Red/Rusted Admech, the Black/Grey and Gold, looks amazing, and the blue tufts of grass look neat too o// well done Lewis. Also, thank you for still trying to do these things guys, theyre really fun, but i understand how hard they are to make time for/make youtube friendly.
Great format, super fun! Sneaking in the occasional important roll would be okay I think, the reactions are always hilarious. Nice lookin Mechanicum too btw!
This is good! I love you guys, i like warhammer. I know it is a time consuming hobby, but this way makes it really enjoyable to watch! Please do more of these.
