Rapid-Fire Skin Review: Street Demons 

A Zac skin where an artist loves their work so much the paint comes alive is something I didn't know I needed till now. Such wasted potential.

Fun fact: Neeko is also identifiable as a kappa via the little jug on her head. Kappas traditionally have jugs filled with water on their head in their mythological depictions.

Man Briar is basically built for the Star Nemesis line. Let her be The Dark Star's/Morgana's first attempt to create a shadow star guardian ala Akali but the failed product. The pillary housing a star guardian pet thats controlling the body until Briar breaks free and goes on a rampage due to being unstable.

Missed opportunity to give this skin line to Nami. A mermaid graffitiing with literal *water colours* would be perfect.

What I love about the Mundo skin too is the lore states he's a finger-painting graffiti artist... who's work constantly get overanalyzed for deeper meanings when in reality he just wanted to make something that looked pretty. As an artist myself, I feel you Mundo.

When I saw the splash art, before reading who they were, I was convinced Zyra was Evelynn and that she got two new skins back to back

5:27 omg yes, as soon as I heard about this skinline I was so sad Zeri got Immortal Journey instead of Street Demon, it would have been such a good fit for her. She even has that Jet Set Radio style roller skates movement in her animations

For briar, it will be fun if she get pool party skin. Her cuff can be a dolfin float

A Taliyah Street Demon would have been awesome. She would be leaving paint graffiti marks on the grpund after sloshing her blobs of paint, while shooting her Q on "painted ground", will make her throw a fully grafitti styled projectile. Her little rocks she leaved on the ground can be styled as graffiti, and her ultimate can have her sliding atop a concrete wall, while painting it with graffiti as she zooms by.

Yeah the record for the longest time without a skin goes to skarner..... to the surprise of absolutely nobody 2k+ days strong

Singed & Zeri would've been such a great fit! *-* I also think the orange / yellow on Briar's thing is just too contrasting and that's why it looks weird

Funfact: Rengar is based on the komaino, an eastern monster that is kind of a mix between a dog and a lion, who tends to guard buddhist or shintoist temples at their entrances in complete silence. Hence why they picked rengar who is...kind of a lion and has the whole invisibility shenanigans going on. Mundo, Neeko and Brand has definetely been my favourites from this bunch.

Briar will have a great Christmas skin either putting sleigh bells on her lock and a Christmas outfit would match well same with Halloween like an old witch skin or something

I definitely hope they make more of these. It's a very fun concept that they can do even more with in the future

I saw a concept of broken covenant briar with the stained glass pillory and now i will compare all her skins to that cause god damn it looked so good

I personally liked this skinline alot, but i do agree, some of the animations really bring the skin down

I think Briar would be perfect for a Pool Party skin. They could turn her ring thing into a floaty or pool noodle and they have a second chance to not focus on her feet.

Something not mentioned about Neeko is the fact that she also has holographic bowl of water on her head, which is something mythological Kappa also has.

5:22 The same thing happens with the next skin tematic, La Ilusión has way better candidates than most of the ones that they're getting it (most of the shadow isles characters for example).

i really hope this skinline returns, because including the champs you listed for suggestions, ITS JUST A DOPE AS HELL SKINLINE! also, MORE PAINT SPLOTCHES RIOT!

I feel like this skin line is just another "Oh this champ hasn't had a skin for a while, here ya go!" Same with when the Astronaut skins came out earlier this year

Like with Soul Fighters, all the bright colors are awesome to see on the skins give them all unique look beyond just the design Also the colors on Brand make have the scheme of a watermelon I just realized

I think briars restraints can be incorporated really well into different skin lines. For example a life buoy for a pool party or a pillory for the dnd inspired skin line, to name two. I hope she gets some skins and wont get left behind like other newer champs (lillia, rell)

Maybe they'll come out with a counter skin line later down the line of "Street Kami" where they will ad more conventially "good" characters as a rival gang against the street demons like Zeri or Zac. (I know neeko isn't bad but she probably just fit the monsterous idea more)

Yet another missed opportunity for a Lillia skin where her branch is a giant paintbrush that she swings around to splatter paint with

when i saw the rengar splash i was sure that was supposed to be wukong and i think he would've been more fitting for the skinline too

Im so happy with this skin line, like finally something that is not fantasy armors or japanese skins that looks so close to chromas that sometimes you dont even realise if is new or old skin line, i also like the aestetic of this and i really could like more champs with this tematic, ideas like street demon elise based in the yokai that uses spiders to catch people being a painter that use multiple pencils and spiders to help her out, or literal reworked skarner based in the fish that do earthquakes, imagine a giant scorpion with paint everywhere that literally can paint a entire city in minutes or destroy it and make art out of it, just if we have it (RIOT PLZ RELEASE SKARNER REWORK!!!)

Mundo could have had a trowel Also Zac could have been a legendary, where his blobs he picks up are all diffrent color, and when he does pick them up they mix with him, so you would change color during the game.

Kha’Zix skin where his mantis blade things are turned into paint brushes, and his lore is that he’s good at copying other people’s styles and adapting them into his own art, yet for some reason he can’t seem to get copy Rengar’s. Thus leading them to try and rival Rengar.

Honestly the only criticism about this skinline is something TB Skyen had mentioned. For a group of street artists, their outfits are too clean. Especially Mundo. Some paint splashes here, ripped clothes there woulda made this line a 9/10 for me. Though as it is now, still 8/10!

Street Demon Zeri using a paintball/spray paint gun would have been cool. And Immortal Journey Mundo could have fit him. At least you could turn his cleaver into a sword. Fits better than Zeri did.

How about a fiddlesticks that a collection of those Yo-Kai that are possessed thrown away objects, but the objects are all discarded painting equipment. One of his arms could be a long handled paint roller, he head could be a breathing mask, but the extended bits are where his eyes go, I’m sure some artist could have a field day coming up with everything.

Hearing SF6 Ken theme throughout the video gives me the PTSD of fighting him

I'd love a Vex skin for this line. Her shadow could be one of her graffiti creations that follows her around on the ground! It'd be a perfect way to incorporate her shadow into a skin without having it still just be her shadow.

It feels like street demons and chromacrash take place in the same universe due to how similar they are

Rengars skin is based on the nekomata a cat yokai that are very aggresive towards humans usually eating them for their lunches.

You know when i think of street art and monsters the first thought in my mind are the Noisw from The World Ends with You

Briar's only problem (pillory looking off) gets fixed by her obsidian chroma in my opinion. But yes, this skinline would've been better on other champs as usual.

The record for longest time without a new skin is Urgot. From fucking early 2012 all the way to summer of 2017. He's the only champion in the 2000 days club

Sometimes it feels like they make the skinline, throw the best fitting champs in. Then fill it with the new champ and some champs that haven’t gotten skins in a while. You can justify most champs in most skin lines but that doesn’t mean you should.

After reading the comments in this video, it really reminded me of how Riot really make a ton of missed opportunities

Personally speaking I feel like this skinline could've been released further more ahead, and wait for the new artistic midlaner Riot talked about to make them part of the skinline as their release skin rather than shoehorn Briar into it.

I can think of 3 skin lines that could tie first place for a mundo skin

This skin line was made for Zaunites (and the lack of a single gun wielder is insane when they’re all spraypainters. Hek Vandal Twitch already exists like this!) Definitely agree that it was made for the wrong champs, minus Brand. Kinda makes the divine Zeri look even stranger since she would be perfect here instead of completely out of place in the last skin release.

They could have briars shackles like a one of those paint thingys that you use to put your paints on it has the shape for it

Better fitting champs Vlad(paint instead of Blood), Cassio (Paint instead of Poison) , Nilah (a big Brush instead of Whip) , Bard (spray cans to collect)

I for sure would’ve and still would get caught by Kappa Neeko lol. Her and Briar skins looks so cool. I love graffiti and mythologies so I love these skins all around but Zyra could’ve been better but does look great

This is a serious problem with league skin design team. Maybe it's the exec's making the call, but they have to prioritize a champion quota or fall along with metrics when they make a creative skin line instead of looking at champions that would actually value these skins. Time and time again we've seen the wrong champion in the wrong skin line and its really sucks. There's so much more that could be done with this idea if given the opportunity and right champs.

Bro. Remember the concept art for Chromacrash Singed on Wild Rift? That would've been perfect for this skinline or Ziggs or Gragas

Skinline is held back so hard by which champs got skins, and riot's hatred of their designs having any "Mess" to them As was mentioned in the video, Rengar just doesnt fit well into this thematic at all, and Mundo & Zyra suffer massively from the designs being just too clean, being signifcantly more concerned with being cool & trying to stick to how the champs look normally than doing something interesting with them. Briar is the one exception where I think Nicky is wrong, I personally think he as a Jiangshi is really neat even if it is chinese as opposed to the japanese Yo-kai of the rest. Brand & Neeko look stellar although they only get issues from the other problem so let's talk about that. Skins & Champions having no "mess" to them is really frustrating. It massively hinders this skinline because everyone just looks so perfect despite working with paint, and not just any paint, but graffiti styles and unconventional means of creating that graffiti, as someone who has spray painted only a few times before, I can tell you that sh*t gets everywhere if you're not really careful, and these guys arent using controlled spray cans, theyre using shit that looks WAAAY more messy and disorganized, especially Brand. This lack of mess also extends to champions because a lot of champs (Sylas, Kai'sa, and most recently Briar) don't have scars of any kind on their body, at least not on the in-game model which is hilarious and yet so saddening because scars are such a good way to communicate what a character has been through, and plenty of people find them really attractive, which Im unsure how riot doesn't understand considering every Kai'sa skin is just her with a new cosplay on. Yeah this need to keep everyhing clean as hell really hurts these skins, as even small paint splotches which are barely noticable from the top-down angle would make the skins have a lot more character to them. As they stand they deserve the relatively average score of 7, not as average as cosmic blandness ofc, but still held back by riot's incompotence. And yes, all 3 of the champions nicky put forth as suggestions would've been amazing additions perfect for the skinline, but riot is too chicken shit to have basic common sense when thinking about this, I'm 100% sure you could've adapted the others Yo-kai thematic into all three of them. Zac would make a great paint oni (Even if I hate fighting him on rift)

Fun Fact: This is the first Mundo skin i'm seeing since starting league of legends. I started league of legends before mythic items were a thing.

Rengar feels like a left over from Lunar Beasts. Zyra's splash is top tier, but her in game could be better. Brand is great but needs an ASU. Neeko's is good, however her concepts for this line are better than the final result IMO. Mundo and Briar are... here for some reason? We could have brought in Zac, Singed, Zeri, maybe even a legendary Jhin skin?

i just wish they would've spun neeko's color palette into a different direction. it's more lizard-y/kappa-y... and that's about it. if you don't zoom in, it seems very same-y for her in terms of colors, even if they're swapped around a little on a model to fit the skin

gnar a little artist with an explocuve style and when he tranforms he is a giant paint demon gwen for japanese myth the slitmouth worman and she would do like arts and crafts and glues her stuff to walls for her quirk zac paint demon do i gotta explane more Illaoi she has the vibe of the skin line and she could use a paint bucket and she uses flowing paint for her tenticals milio cus he already has the vibe of paint into his kit and his flame he throws could be a random color or smt nunu cus his w is a paint ball and if he kills someone with his q an oni face would appear or smt but it would fit xiah and rakan would fit the the paint asteatic with ziah throwing paint and rakan's aoe just painting and if there paired they make art with one they get no buffs but when paired on the same team they make there type of art together there are alot more that would fit but these are the ones that would fit on the top of my head

I think the Mundo skin would work better if the weapon they where using was a literal paint bucket, that they both swing around with and throws at enemies. Think would work instead of a random knife.
