Afrter 10 years with my Jackson, I still love its outfitting. Easy to adjust and thigh braces are the most comfortable of all the boats I have paddled. Of course all reviews should be done after spending a year or more with the kayak.

I paddle a mamba - super stable river runner - get this one if you are a beginner - you won't be disappointed - and the stern has lots of volume to keep you from squirting in rapids

Paddled the Diesel and absolutely loved it, but I ended up getting a barely used Burn 2012 for $500. They're very similar. I would recommend either boat.

I paddled a remix xp10 about 20 times on class 2 before the stomper. for my level, I would highly recommend the stomper. if you are completely new to hardshells, consider the remix or mamba. Also, consider what kind of water you will be paddling. In AZ, we mostly have rocky low volume creeks and rivers.

After all of my research, I bought a stomper 90. I'm a beginner, and I had no chance to demo any of these boats. I was between the mamba, stomper, and remix, but after 4 runs in the stomper im glad I chose it. For read and run rapids it is great because you can change directions instantly, it speeds up in 2-3 strokes, and it has tons of secondary stability. It also rolls and boofs effortlessly. The volume lets it get pushed around by weird currents, but makes up for it by skipping over holes.

Shopping for a kayak, This is the most resourceful video I have found yet. I have watched it 4-5 times already to refresh myself on what boat is what. I'm leaning towards these boats in order 1.Diesel 2. Zen. 3. Burn

i paddled all these boats and more of same type befour i decided what boat i should get and i would highly recomend the zet raptor its not a very well known boat but the peole who make it know what their doing.In my opinion its the best flat bottomed river runner out there.

I thought the Stomper was a creek boat? I would have thought it better to compare to the Remix.

All great kayaks with there pro's and con's but which would you recommend for beginners

I personally love the Stomper 80, I am 6'7 220lbs an it fits me better than the 69.
