Fantastic unboxing and review of this gorgeous model. I appreciate the way you calmly take us through all the steps. It's unfortunate I'm giving Rapido products a wide berth from now on.
SUPER BEAUTIFUL MODEL,ONLY THE YELLOW DEFROSTERS ON THE FRONT WINDOWS ARE MISSING,AND THE CHAIN THAT CONNECTS THE LEVER OF THE MANUAL RELEASE TO THE FRONT HOOK
F20-24 are bonus music (or novelty references) functions to represent the regions where the F59PH serves GO Transit Blues Brothers (Chicago) Cal Worthington Ford commercial (Metrolink) not sure if the second music is for TRE (Dallas)
I guess it's a bonus for those who like it or grew up listening to those bands/music? Wished Rapido added a few train announcements such as, "Please stand clear of the doors, the doors are closing", or a generic announcements.
I'm certainly looking forward to the Metrolink Delivery model on the way, so finally have something to pull my Metrolink consist after half a year. (unfortunately delayed because the brake chain fell off and it got sent back by the retailer to have it fixed/replaced). I will say, it's a bit of a shame that it looks like ESU still hasn't gotten an accurate F59PH/PHI K5LA horn and for US buyers, the price is noticebly higher compared to CA retailers. But other than that, certainly looking forward to this highly detailed model arriving.
One of the pros of the ESU Loksound 5 decoders is that you can load your own custom horns onto it. If you want a custom K5LA horn on your F59PH, shoot me a DM on Discord or Facebook. It will also come with a more accurate 12-710G3B prime mover sound with low and high idle that sounds closer to what the F59s actually sounded like IRL. Keep note you’ll need access to a Lokprogrammer for that
@@CentralJerseyRailfan I’m yet to grab one though it’s been on my list. Thank you for reaching out for that. I would really like to add some station announcements as well.
@@CentralJerseyRailfan I have quite a few F59phis, along with the F59ph on order (Im guessing they both have a similar sound file). I'll be sure to email you when I eventually get a Lokprogrammer, along with installing Loksound in my PHIs.
Nice looking and running locos, sound functions are definitely cool, but quotes from "The Blues Brothers?" Is there a connection? And I thought my ICE4 having the automated toiled flushing sound was a bit over the top. lol
What no “A Place to Stand, A Place to Grow”, song from 1967? Ontari airi air riohhh. I saw another reviewer’s class lights are much brighter. Maybe yours pushed back? I would try mine but my Digitrax DCS 200 is in Florida being repaired.
i am using servos as my switch machines. will this board power these? i am mostly interested in the input side of the board. can you send me a photo of the board with the input wire hooked up. thanks, Doug
I’m not sure what you are referring to as this is just a review video of an f59 not a switch machine. What board are you referring too and I’d be happy to help.
I’m yet to try with the new bilevel cars. It really depends on the layout as well. It was moving well with the lot of cars it was pulling but I was holding back with it on my layout as I don’t fly around my layout
