Jonathan Davis definitely has a spot on my list of favorite singers of all time. Man held nothing back, he poured everything he had into these songs. Take care of yourself and your mental health man, it's everything! ❤
Korn was God status after this. Best concert I ever went to was seeing them around that time. Mosh pits were insane. Nobody on a cell phone taking videos
It´s in your head and mind forever mate! I was 8 years old 1999, at the time and I heard about Korn for the first time through a friend. It was just such a great time! I never want to miss!
Well, cell phones with cameras didn't come out till that year, so yeah, no cell phones in the air. But I get your point. Concerts should be enjoyed, not standing with your phone in the air the whole time!!
korn talks about real stuff some songs might sound goovy or catchy but when you pay attention to the lyrics they hit you in a place you didnt know you needed to be hit at. it actually helped me alot in my life.
Omg... I wish everyone could experience that "crowd wave" just once in their lives. My first time was at RATM's battle of LA tour in Nashville. The energy and force of the crowd literally causes it to feel like jumping waves in an ocean. The waves somewhat carried me for a few seconds of weightlessness... and as someone who is sensitive to human energy, it's an undefined feeling of mass exhilaration. It's not euphoric, but just weightless burst of energy, a happy freedom.
I saw them in New Orleans 2002. Trust Company and Disturbed opened. Brian "Head" Welch is one of Korn's guitarists. Check out his story about finding God, leaving the band, raising his daughter, battling addiction, and returning to the band.
Im your age and have been a huge fan since the first album. I saw them 2 years ago and let me tell you something...I was blown away. My body hurt from banging my head and body so much. They still put on a truly amazing show.
I was freaking 14 years old. Just a little bit behind you. But I *am* a metalhead and grew up on this music, so I knew the song. Was happy to see this video pop up from you. Keep doing what you're doing.
My favorite band ❤.I’m going to see Korn in September. Saw them 2 years ago & Jonathan Davis voice is even better now! You should do the studio version.
90’s mosh-pits were crazy before all the health and safety regulations were brought in. I went to see Korn live over here in England, UK, back in 1997. I was a skinny 19 year old and decided to be at the front in the mosh pit. This song kicked things off - the crowd went insane and scared the shit out of me, lol. It was so packed that I couldn’t even get my feet back on the ground. Then I got booted in the head multiple times by “Crowd Surfers” (more like “crowd rollers” really). At that point I knew I had to get the hell out of the pit, but we were all so jam-packed together that the only way out was to get myself up and crowd surf over the front barrier. So that’s what I did. Then watched the rest of the show from the side. “ARE YOU READY!?”… No. No I wasn’t. I honestly thought I was gonna die at one point. 🤣 As an aside, Incubus were the support band that night. I’d never heard of them before but they were brilliant. I enjoyed them much more than Korn and am still a big fan today.
For the diversity of artists at Woodstock '99 festival, it was the hard rock/ heavy metal bands that closed ALL 3 NIGHTS and triumphed on their stages over rap, pop, R&B and every other genre of artists who performed... Night 1, KoRn was the band that ruled the stage that night... Bush (the band) went on after them but could not compete w/ their response. Night 2, Limp Bizkit took the stage first w/ the #1 album in the US that week and the crowd got so amped up that barriers were getting pulled down and wrecked... Rage Against the Machine came after and the crowd was jacked to 11... Metallica finished the evening's set w/ their heavy set and triumphed. Night 3, tensions were starting to simmer in the summer heat... Sevendust performed, followed by Creed... Megadeth took on one stage and the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the other to close the festival... The Chili Peppers distributed candles for a peaceful vigil to mark the tragedy of the Columbine shooting... but the crowds started lightning bonfires and the crowd lit up and started burning and looting the stands in frustration. It was a sad end to the legacy of what was once a festival for 'peace & love' 30 years earlier.
Keep fighting with your head held high, get knocked down 10 times get up 11. Appreciate your content, you've got this :) Korn were the leaders of the Nu School era, 90's were a wild time that's for sure lol
Aye, wishing you good luck bro. It sucks you have to move and all that.. but dont let the stress get to you because all will be good and god will take care of you. Much love brother
Love your reactions BP, listening from New Zealand. Hang in there, find someone to talk too and know it will pass. Lot of folk out there feeling the same....
It’s amazing I’m 60, haven’t met one person who saw this personally and I’m a metal guy as are my friends, but I log on RU-vid and apparently I missed out, cool, who knew…….
This is older video but I lived in pa in high school and chose to go to a summer league baseball game instead of OzFest my junior year when Korn was in Pittsburgh… I still regret it to this day 😂😂😂 .. Also I haven’t clicked further but if now live bagpipes you need to do that reaction now !!!! 😂😂
Oh if you want to relieve some stress turn on Korn turn it all the way up and just let all emotions out. Johnathan Davis wrights all his songs pure emotions and his life. Korn is the best live show in the world
I was 11 but just after freak on a leash was huge in my school and i was the only one that could rip song onto cd to sell them and i made some good money!
I an am NP. Have treated patients for 12+ years. Obviously, you have multiple things going on right now, but remember, mens' hormones ALSO change after the delivery of a baby. I had loneliness and almost a feeling of despair after my second was born, and I didn't realize it may have been a postpartum thing going on. It may also have nothing to do with that for you. Just something to think about. Good luck with everything and congrats on the newborn.
Hey man, ska music to get you motivated and reggae to just chill and reflect. Stress is a mother fucker and will mess you up mentally and physically the mind is a powerful instrument.
take care of you, man. stress is nasty to the body. the first months of new baby can be alienating for the dad. even when no other stressors are there, its hard for dads and hard on relationships. not a lot of people mention that part. your cup must be replenished so that you have something to give when your family needs it. change sucks. sometimes it presents an unexpected opportunity for something beautiful to happen.
First of all, I can’t say I can identify with this one. As a grey haired old lady I just can’t take the noise! I do have an appreciation for the message but for me it was lost in all the noise. Having said that, spirit has a way of presenting these things at the right moment if we’re awake enough to catch it so it got your attention. Now, stress is a vicious thing so I’ll give you some unsolicited advice…my dad used to say “Don’t overthink it.” Next, go outside and put your bare feet in the grass…in nature you can literally ground yourself. Ground yourself!
I went to Woodstock 99 Korn was epic. My gf at the time ended up in the red cross tent from dehydration after Korn. Should of know when she couldn't hang . Lol
I was there at Woodstock 99. I was dead center in the sea of people when Limp Bizkit and KORN played. When I say we felt a buzzing and felt like the crowd was moving like a wave pool is an understatement. At first I was worried about crushing bc my Gf was with me but it was great. No issues, except for the heat, water and food issues from the event planners. After the acts finished we left Saturday night, luckily before the nightmare started Sunday.
Stress is awful. It makes me super sick. My grandma before during and even beating breast cancer stress causes her to get UTIs and get very sick to the point where she faints. Last week she fainted and knocked her head.... stress doesn’t give a fuck. It messes with everything and everyone. We love you BP I’m glad you talked about this shit. It needs to be spoken about. Glad you got shit off your chest man🖤🙏
About that part where opened about being awake at 3 o'clock and your struggles... You are not alone man, you have the strength, you'll manage it, I know you don't doubt yourself, but in case you do - don't. You'll persevere, you're the man
I was 17 years old and watched Woodstock’99 at a friend’s house On Demand. I remember seeing the crowd go completely insane when Blind came on and still to this day, imho, it’s the greatest shot of a crowd at any show I’ve ever seen, period.
Blind their first single off their first album. I’ve seen KoRn live seven times & their live show is like a fine wine. It’s gotten better with age. 😉 ✌🏻💚🤘🏻 it’s the only way to fly!
Their lyrics speak to a lot of us. Have faith, it'll work out. It feels like it's piling on all at once, but you can only tackle little bits at a time. Prioritize those bits, knock them down, and move on to the next one. ❤
"Probably should have been there." Be thankful you didn't. It was basically hell on Earth for those that went. Bands were great. The experience was awful.
I was there and the floor was a beautiful debauchery of metal madness! I have seen Korn at least 10-15x! I had to get my noticeably pregnant ass away the "the floor/pit area when it got to be too much when I saw them at Summer Sanitarium Tour 2000. My all time fav band! 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻 I'm 52 now and going to see them again this summer to enjoy all of their beautiful madness!🖤🤘🏻🖤
Saw them at 1997 Lollapalooza at Great Woods (not named that anymore) in Massachusetts. They came out on the Low rider bikes and sparkling Adidas sweat suits! The bass drum and bass guitar as well as guitar teasing the crowd with just subtle beats and scratching riffs. The best years of my life 18 years old, not a care in the world and EVERYONE got along, no matter the race, the political side you chose. Being a kid/teenager is an innocence that the mind and spirit can NEVER get back. Now I look back on those days, close my eyes and just escape for a few moments. RU-vid has memories like this locked and loaded for as close to a time travel experience as possible. What whaaaaaat!! Happy Friday folks!!
I have been trying to find the video of Blind from one of the Lallapalooza stops where rows of seats were just demoslished afterward. Ripped out of the ground and just tossed around. No luck find ing it yet
You are going to have to go deep down into the Rabbit Hole known as Korn. There is a TON of meanings to their songs, and almost 99.999% of them have to do with serious subjects that were experienced by Jonathan Davis in his life.
always listen to album version first before live when it comes to Korn. totally different feel on album versions...especially their first couple albums
I was there. It was crazy. That whole weekend was nuts. Got hit in the throat by a water bottle thrown into the crowd at a rave by Fatboy Slim. Got water spiked with ecstasy and almost got trampled in the Metallica pit. Loved every second.
I know the words have meaning and most times they have great meaning. But sometimes to just bounce your head and rock the "F" out. Look at that crowed and put yourself there. What energy.... so pumped.....
Korn's early work up until 2000 was particularly deep. Especially the first 2 albums when Jon was still working thru childhood trauma and they were all pretty heavy drinkers and other things. But songs like Daddy, Kill You, Mr. Rogers, Clown, and on the next 2 albums you have Pretty, Justin, Falling Away From Me, etc are all meaningful messeges
I could have gone in 99, I was living in Jersey and working in NYC. My now Ex Wife didnt want to go so I stayed home. On the flip note I made good money fixing Y2K Bugs, btw the conceert wasnt why we broke up.
I saw them at Ozzfest 2003 - when they headlined with Marilyn Manson - and Ozzy (obviously). That whole show was awesome I went 2001, 2002, and 2003 - so l always forget who played each year... Manson was there in 2001, Rob Zombie in 2002, but most of the lesser-known bands I can't remember which year they played... I DO remember Mudvayne in 2001 though, they were awesome. If you can fit them into your playlist, I think you'd dig a lot of Mudvayne's songs. "Nothing to Gein" is one of my favorites but it's not as popular as a lot of their later stuff.
