nothing can top the original studio version, but this comes close and is cool for other reasons. David not only giving the backing singers their moment in the spotlight, but him turning to watch and listen in such a respectful and appreciative way. I love watching this.
This is my first time hearing this song and wow I am blown away by the fact that it was just someone just singing that was just incredible and amazing.
Is this your first experience with this song or with Pink Floyd in general? If it's with Pink Floyd in general, then welcome to the rabbit hole. Prepare to discover a unique and extraordinary world.
@@thepragmatic6383 no, my first experience with this song I know who Pink Floyd is I mean, I know another brick in the wall I know who believe me I know who Pink Floyd is. There’s just a few songs there is that I haven’t heard but also I might’ve heard when I was younger, but might not remember.
Some people say that this is supposed to represent in raw emotion the transitions into leaving life, the stages of dying, starting with denial, anger, fear, resistance and finally acceptance, and some say it isn't, the original recording on the album was done by one Lady Claire Torrie, she did it pretty much in one take when recorded, these Ladies do a fine job with this concert version too, Thanks for sharing and looking forward to hearing what you decide to do next, God Bless.
First 😂 The stages of life and death without saying a word. Chilling and amazing when I saw them live. Led Zeppelin Stairway to heaven live from MSG in 1973 please 🙏. Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out 🙏 ✌️ ☮️
Awesome 👏🏻 This one is quite special. If you haven’t heard Run Like Hell, Hey You, or Shine On You Crazy Diamond - or even if you’ve heard them, this concert is worth the watch. Also, I mentioned this before but if you do Time, highly recommend the orig recording.
Shine on You Crazy Diamond- all parts, studio version from Wish you were here. Time from Dark Side of the Moon. Actually, the whole album. Run Like Hell from the Wall.
When you´re the greatest band in the world, you´ve got the best background singers. Sam Brown (the blonde) was a well known singer in the 80ies (had a hit called STOP!), but also background singer for Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Jon Lord, Deep Purple, Black, Gary Moore, George Harrison, Fish and others.
I should imagine that listening to hip-hop and rap after listening to bands like Floyd is like driving is like driving a Ford Fiesta after driving a Bentley Continental GT.
Try the live in Pompeii version 1971 with Pink Floyd doing "careful with that axe Eugene"!! You'll get to see the all-time scream in rock music from Rodger Waters the main Lyricist for Pink Floyd until he quit in 1985 before the Pulse concert.
The 1st singer is Sam Brown, daughter of 60`s singer Joe Brown MBE , who still sings and has his own RU-vid channel. She is/ was a singer songwriter and has 8 albums out , A good interview with her here . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eNg73HzoiDU.html
Floyd giving their backing singers their deserved time in the spotlight. On the original album version 1 lady Clair Torry ( a session singer) was called in and paid £30 she recorded all in 2.5 takes then felt she would only be repeating stuff so went home. Much later after she discovered they used her takes on the album and a little legal wrangling she got Co-writer credits and rightly so. Some prefer the album version some prefer this live version. To me they are both equally astounding. Pink Floyd’s keyboard player passed away not long ago but one of these wonderful ladies sang this track at his funeral as per his request.( if I’m missed any important details please feel free to add them )
Sam Brown had numerous top ten singles and albums back in the day. Daughter of Joe Brown the 50s pop singer. She was George Harrisons ukulele partner and family friend. Sang Horse to Water at George's memorial concert.
I highly recommend you listen to the original recording of this now! Then react to Shine on you crazy Diamond. Then Echoes. And for something different - Nobody, Ratrace or Warning by Skindred
Oh yeah. Also, if you ever go back and listen to the original recording of this song, it’s sung by one woman. Her name is Claire but dang it I don’t recall her last name. She was amazing!!
Music wriyyen by Rick Wright ( Keys) for a movie > the director didn't like it. The band put it on DSOTM . got a session singer Claire Torrie who did her own thing in 2 1/2 takes. She didn't think they like it until she heard it on the radio.
Go and listen to the recorded version with the vocals by Clare Torry. That is the best version and she did it in the studio just on her own. It is amazing. I used to get chills listening. It is like birth and death and every emotion through a lifetime. No disrespect to the backup singers, but the original from Dark Side of the Moon is perfect.
Great reaction Prada! You earned a new subscriber! If possible, please react to Brain Damage / Eclipse (both songs are "linked") from this same live show, they're awesome! Who would believe that Pulse show happened 30 years ago already... In my opinion, the best live show ever. Cheers from Argentina!
The original version by Clare Torey was a one of a kind she did it two takes one of them things that just cannot be repeated ever but the live version from the three girls probably comes as close as you can get they did an excellent job live listen to the original off the concept album dark side of the moon 1973 and you will see why in fact as with a lot of Floyds music listen to the whole album each track enhances each other they all flow into each other like chapters in a book
First singer blows you out of the house and then the other two pile on top. I always thought first singer was the best of any to perform this as she has the full sound and visual delivery.
Have you reacted to Stevie Ray Vaughn "Texas Flood" live at El Mocombo? If not it's a must see! Also The Edgar Winter Group "Frankenstein" Live at the Old Gray Whistle Test I think it's from 1973.
Listen to the studio version. And be blown away by the original singer Clare Torry. That was recorded in 2 takes. This live version is good, but nothing compared to the original. In fact you should probably listen to the full Dark side of the moon album (1973). That will tell you all about who Pink Floyd were. (And then Animals, Meddle)
@@justm9892 I know, I literally haven't listened to anything else but Ren, The Big Push and Chinchilla and anything he does with other people for ages, can't get enough of him🤣🤣
Pink Floyd "Echoes (Part 1)" live at Pompeii 1972 No Audience, No Lights, No Pyrotechnics just Gods playing to the Gods (def pick the Part 1 as the full track is really really long so for reaction purposes do Part 1)
I hope when you have done your reactions to Pink Floyd you allow yourself time to lay backand listen to Darkside of the moon eginning to end. Its a trip no drugs needed just float away.
Im sure you already know that The Dark Side Of The Moon is a concept album where the message flows from one song through to the next. TIME & The Great Gig end side one, but are really 2 very different parts of the one song. Our own personal TIME ends with The Great Gig. The best version is the original with the vocals of Clare Torre, who created the vocals and melody on the spot and in one take.......dont listen to the trolls who claim it was more than one take. Unfortunately, all the current CD's and videos are digitally remastered and edited.....the latest have even removed the brilliant final notes of death completely. .............. probably considered not politically correct to hear the brilliant vocals of passing on.
The singer is Sam Brown. The song has no lyrics. It is the singers are conveying their feelings about death. This is maximum level performance of this song. Keep in mind the ladies only have one take to perform this song. Pink Floyd tries to give everyone performing at this c😂concert their moment in the spotlight.
Tre bravissime coriste come DURGA MC BROOM, SAM BROWN E CLAUDIA FONTAINE ci sono volute ...ma la perfezione è solo nella unica voce originale CLARE TORRY 🔝🔝🔝
Why, why why have you not done Sorrow yet?!? Dude... I'm telling ya... turn the bass up, turn the volume waaayy up, and deal with replacing all the pictures on the walls later...
