I love when people genuinely make the effort to know them. I feel so genuinely lucky to get to be an ARMY. It isn’t so much that they aren’t kpop. I mean kpop is such a diverse genre of music. That said I think that most ARMY would say that BTS is more than that. Just like they are a boy band if you look at the definition of boy and but they aren’t JUST a boy band. They are so many many things. They do more than kpop. They do more than pop. They do more than sing and dance. BTS are artists with meaning and message and purpose. Edited to add: I saw Yoongi (Suga) live last year. It was the best show I’ve ever seen. As the show went on and got more personal bits of the stage went away. By the end he was on the floor with us. He was so wonderful and getting to spend a day with a ton of ARMY was so fun.

Always use BTS. B-Bang T-Tan S-Sonyeondan Bangtan Sonyeondan is Korean for Bullet Proof Boyscouts. They have “expanded” the acronym to include Beyond The Scene, (but never Behind the scene), But they are always just called BTS. Army has other pet names for them, but are first and foremost BTS. BTS as a group, as well as the individual members, gift songs to Army. For free. Borahae comes from the Korean words purple and I love you. Combined it says I purple You. Purple is BTS and Army’s Color. (As seen in the video) You’re doing great. 🤗

@@MissSmartypants555but Burn the Stage was never a name for the group. All of their documentaries use words with BTS as the acronym (Burn the Stage, Bring the Soul, Beyond the Silence, and most recently - Beyond the Star). Also, Beyond the Scene was the name they rebranded to, for Western audiences, but the fandom has never really embraced it. We prefer “BTS” or “Bangtan” or “Bangtannies” or “Tannies.” The members themselves refer mostly to Bangtan, and also as BTS.

j-hope was actually signed first, but he stayed in his hometown of Gwangju to train because Big Hit was so small they didn't have a dorm or dance instructors, or practice studio space and j-hope started as primarily a dancer. Big Hit was just 10 employees. They were a group of producers in a suite of offices in a crummy office building. They had never trained a group before BTS. So in Seoul initially it was just RM and Suga. All three of them were signed in 2010. RM was not actually signed first, but he was the first member of BTS, because as soon as Mr Bang met him, he knew he wanted to build the group around him as the core and the leader. As soon as Big Hit secured dance practice space and an instructor, j-hope came up at the end of 2010 to Seoul to join RM and Suga in the newly rented leaky, bug infested, tiny apartment that was to be their dorm. In 2011 they started signing the vocalists, with youngest Jungkook (just 13 years old at the time of signing and moving into the dorm and still in middle school) and eldest Jin (an 18 year old college freshman) signing at around the same time, then V. In 2012 they found Jimin and he was signed with an unheard-of short training time of just 6 months. The video references ages that are based on S Korean age counting, which was changed to align with global age counting last year. Previously, in S Korea you were considered 1 year old at birth and another year older at the new year. So V, for example, whose birthday is at the end of December, would have been counted as 2 years old at just a few days after his birth. Jungkook also has a birthday late in the year, so he was 13 when he signed and moved far from his home city of Busan up to Seoul and into the dorm with his brothers, and 15 when BTS debuted. The ages they give in this video are 1-2 years older than global age counting. We thought Yoongi/Suga didn't like dancing for years. That's not actually the case. He used to break dance with j-hope for fun in their trainee days. What we didn't know was that he was in a car accident during trainee days which he hid from everyone and which shattered his shoulder. He was not supposed to be moonlighting as a motorbike delivery driver, which he was doing to pay his school fees as his family could not afford to help him. He was doing that in the predawn before school in addition to their insane training schedule. He was afraid he would get kicked out for lying, for moonlighting and for being injured, and afraid it would hurt his brothers' ability to debut as well, since all their music and choreo was done for 7 and there was no money and time to redo things as Big Hit was hanging by a shoestring. So, he downplayed his injuries and said he fell down the stairs and was in constant pain for years. During those years we just thought he was our beloved sleepy, grumpy grandpa. We didn't know how much pain he was in. He initially only told a couple managers and their choreographer and Mr Bang. He slowly came clean over years to his brothers and then to us. Imagine hiding that when they all slept in the same room in those days. In 2020, during the pandemic, he finally got surgery on the shoulder. By then he was in so much pain he could not lift a cup or a water bottle with his left arm and he had to get injections in his shoulder to be able to perform. He is doing much better now. Here is the choreography he did for his song Haegeum of his latest album. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0zN2YxoPnD8.html All of them release solo singles as gifts for ARMY and the rap line released 5 whole albums as free gifts for ARMY, complete with some high quality MVs for each album. RM's albums "RM" and "Mono" Agust D's "Agust D" and "D-2" and j-hope's "Hope World" were all free releases. Daechwita, Joke, So Far Away and Ddaeng, which you have reacted to, were all free releases. Fun fact - you mentioned John Cena - he is a HUGE ARMY. He is a j-hope bias.

BTS concerts are like the funnest party you’ve ever been to with 30,000 of your closest friends. All of the other ARMYs are so loving and accepting of each other as well as united in our love for these seven guys that feel like they are our for real friends. Other concerts I’ve been to you stand in line and everyone pretty much keeps to their own group. At BTS concerts everyone is talking to everyone else in line. Finding out where they’re from, when they became ARMY, and who their bias is. My friend and I made 60 little gift bags with stickers and purple lolly pops and purple friendship bracelets and randomly gave them out to other ARMYs at the concert. A few other people were doing that too. And of course BTS know how to put on a show, but they are not so serious that they don’t also just have fun with ARMY. Everyone has these light sticks called “ARMY bombs” that are connected by blue tooth so that they all change color at the same time and can make shapes and patterns and words out of colored lights in the audience, so it’s like a giant light show. There are also fireworks and cool props and sometimes drones making shapes in the air, and even holograms. If you want to see how BTS performs live you can react to the 2019 MMA (Melón Music Awards) awards (they did a 20 minute set at that award show) or any of their performances on RU-vid from their Yet to Come concert in Busan. You don’t have to react to it but do a search for BTS drone show Yet to Come Busan concert. People could see and film the drones from miles away.

It makes me smile any time anyone clocks Jimin as the "delicate" one. 😅 He's a bit androgynous, sure, but he also could kill you with his hands, lol. And not just because of the martial arts training, he was recently honored at graduation from his military training camp as the top trainee. He's a hard drinking guy with a rough Busan accent (when he's not trying to hide it and sound like he's from seoul). He lives with chronic pain, continues to dance ridiculously hard, and never makes a peep about it. Heck, we've even seen him nonchalantly shrug off death threats, when asked about it in an interview. Like... he may have the face of an angel, but no one is tougher than Park Jimin.

I was one of the lucky ones to be able to watch their free Busan Yet To Come concert. Considered as a historical concert as this was their last concert as 7 before their military enlistment. This concert was something that will live forever in my heart. I had roller coaster of emotions from excitement, to hyped up, happy to really emotional but also very greatful of this one hell of an experience. From meeting ARMY all over the world, hearing BTS during rehearsal, to finally seeing them present right before my eyes, an indescribable feeling where you only feel when you attend thier concert. 2025 will be their biggest come back and I will be here Standing Next to them. And Oh, Jimin (my bias wrecker) caught my eye first and got me into BTS but JK became my ultimate bias as I totally can relate with his personality. In saying this, all the other 6 can easily wreck you/me any time they want really lol.

Ive been ARMY since 2015 and have been lucky enough to see them live 3x and Suga once. BTS performance is insane. They leave everything on the stage, but as a concert goer growing up i think the biggest difference between a BTS concert and anyone else is, that BTS make you feel so appreciated and wanted for being there. They typically do a "fake ending" and than do an encore. Theyve been known to spend 20+ minutes just walking around the stage waving goodbye and laying on the floor for one last goodbye as the curtain closes. They spend so much time connecting with ARMY.

Helpful hint for the guide: Not sure if you know.... Korean people counted age differently to others... Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. The members were only 13-18 years old when they joined BTS and 15-20 yo when they debuted. In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on lunar newyear every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. .... Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 Jin 1992 - 20 yo Suga 1993- 20 yo Suga started with MIDI at 11 JHope 1994 - 19 yo JHope started dancing at 8 RM 1994 - 18 yo RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13 Jimin 1995 - 17 yo V 1995 - 17 yo JK 1997 - 15 yo he signed with big hit at 13 Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age. The Korean Government has recently (June28 last year) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age. 💜Have a great day

You have really good instincts! When you asked if Suga likes dancing now I almost actually clapped for you - because he does, he's talked about it. I connect with him the same way you do, and Daechwita is an amazing song. And yes you're saying it wrong, but don't worry, everyone does, it's hard to get right. He says it eight million times in the song so you'll get it right after that 😂😂😂 A lot has changed for them since this video - solo works, enlistment. Suga started a talk show and all the members were on it. If you want to get to know them as people, you can watch their episodes of Suchwita. Jungkook does an entire karaoke set for his 😂 Given how much you like their dynamic together, i think you might really enjoy watching their variety show Run BTS (which is not their song Run BTS or their song Run). There are a ton of episodes and you can start kind of wherever - I actually suggest the two-part special "Fly BTS" to get a taste and then decide if you want to go back. They play games and try things out and it's often hilarious. You already have ideas of where to go with the music... I usually just suggest that folks follow their own curiosity. They don't have 700 songs 😂 but it's still a lot, many genres, and their solo work is genuinely great. Oh, and I enjoyed that you could be in awe of Suga's powerful raw lyrics and then laugh in delight at Supertuna. I think you'll enjoy BTS, because they're sincere and also silly, hard-hitting and playful, with plenty of meaningful songs and then also some ridiculous ones. I loved that Jungkook's voice gave you chills. That will keep happening. 😁 I also loved that you picked up on how we talk about the members like we're part of the group too! Namjoon is our leader, or our president... Hobi is our sunshine. Guess which one is our lil meow meow 😂 but yeah you're right, it's an unusual thing. The connection is real, and it's very cool, and if you stick around I predict you'll be doing the same thing - because you're sincere, you're creative, you clearly want to connect with people. You're like BTS, you care about things the way they do. At some point you'll realize it feels like they're talking not just to us but to you. 😁 If you want, I mean. You can always wander off. I just have strong suspicions you're going to fit in well around here. Borahae 💜 Oh and finally - watch the full video of ARMY singing to them at Wembley when you have a minute. This video didn't go into the context... They had been told forever that they couldn't sell out stadiums or they'd never succeed outside Korea. Wembley is in England, they filled it, and the staff got the crowd to surprise them by singing Young Forever... Including the Korean parts. They didn't know it would happen and then the whole audience - of English speakers - sang to them in Korean. The video is incredibly touching, and the moment was definitely overwhelming. It's really beautiful. You're doing great!

Suga does like to dance now. He even wanted to B-boy with J-Hope earlier in their dance journey. I didn't know that until recently. He even did a dance routine to his song Haegeum. When you get to that song, you have to watch the dance practice. It's a hard hitting song, and the dance is the same energy. He did it even though he didn't have to. And he was taking more dance classes during their "break" for solo projects, because he wanted to be good at different types of dance. By the way, Daechwita is part of a trilogy. I'll leave some information on that. and I can link you Seoul if you want. *Suga aka Agust D's Trilogy:* Agust D - Daechwita (turn on CC's) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qGjAWJ2zWWI.html Agust D - Haegeum (turn on CC's) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iy9qZR_OGa0.html Agust D - Amygdala (turn on CC's) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IX1dkYoLHVs.html *Meanings for the song titles* *Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.) *Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden. *Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. The amygdala helps to store memories of events and emotions so that an individual may be able to recognize similar events in the future. *Also, this song is on his D-Day album, and it's my favorite, and you will love it also, everyone does.* Agust D (feat. And they are the best concerts I've ever been to. The energy is on another level, and I have not come across a song by BTS that I have not liked yet. Which is strange, because with all the artists I have liked, there has always been a few skips on albums. But I just haven't found that yet. Something you need to understand that is so unique and unlike the typical western artists - it’s not just Jin that made a song for ARMY and put it on SoundCloud for free. They all have multiple songs. In fact, when they have had solo songs outside of BTS solos, or when the rap line produce their mixtapes, they all went on SoundCloud for free. Not a single one of these releases were done publicly for money. In fact, there were MVs for tracks on many of the mixtapes and all were free gifts to fans. It’s only recently since the members have enlisted and paused BTS activities to pursue their solo artist work have some of the SoundCloud mix tapes and singles been added to streaming platforms under the individual artist’s names. And that’s where Super Tuna fits - a fun little song that Jin and another guy from their staff came up with on the fly while they were fishing. They actually made it into a song and then to the beach in LA while they were there to make a quick MV. All for the fans.

@@TEEJ-9The rap line song Ddaeng is one of those free gifts, yet it’s so full of clever wordplay and cultural references that following it up with an explanation video is a MUST to fully appreciate it (DKDKTV has a good one). It’s still not available on streaming platforms but it’s an absolute GEM and very popular with fans. 09:08 i think company wanted to use "beyond the scene" as english name when they entered US market as visible players in 2017, but they subsequently dropped that name, I don't think armys adopted it, cause they already used to BTS, and don't need other meaning. When i came to fandom in 2019 i knew of that second ne but noone used it. "Bulletproof" eventually became very meaningful word for BTS and army, bts uses this word in their songs "Bulletproof pt2, Bulletproof the Eternal", in the song "Run BTS" they have lines "run bulletproof, run". And in korea as well as international fans call them shortly Bangtan (=bulletproof)

They were given a criteria of perfect dance practices... so although they didn't have a required amount of practice hours they usually practiced twice as long as idol groups.. they quite often practiced 12 to 16 hours a day compared to 8 to 10 for other idols.. they chose to practice that much.. These guys are both more diligent and critical of themselves... I think that's why they broke though to the world market.

BTW, we recently found out that two members are releasing new music this month. J-Hope will release a 6 track album and Jk is featured in one of the songs. And we were JUST told that V is putting out a single. B looking for them. 😊 When you were talking about Jimin being out there by himself promoting, you mentioned that you are on the shy side. Jung Kook was EXTREMELY shy and he was the one talking to people on the streets of Hollywood in English asking “Please come to our concert” for free. If he can do it, you can do it if it comes to that. 😊 Also, just two more things. When JK said he was 15 when he joined, he was actually 13z until June 2023 Korea configured age different than the international way. They considered a person to be 1 the day they were born and everyone gained a year each new year. So you could literally be 2 days old and considered to be 2 years old in Korea. 😊 And, right after V explained the color purple, he told the crowd that he made it up, but the definition stuck. I always thought that was cool. Btw I subscribed. I really like you. Also, main is the top and lead is right after main so, for example, JK is the main vocalist and lead dancer; and Jimin is the lead vocalist and main dancer. My suggestions: “Run BTS” dance “Fake Love” “Not Today” “Blood Sweat and Tears” “Jamais Vu” “Stay Gold” “Film Out” Members (I’ll make suggestions not in this video) RM “Wildflower” Suga “Agust D” J Hope - “More” Jin “The Astronaut” JK “Standing Next to You” V “Slow Dancing” Jimin “Like Crazy”

I have been to so many concerts over the years, such as Elton John, Godsmack, ZZ Top, Black Crowes, and many others. No concert has even held a candle to the BTS concerts, and the absolute amazing experience. You feel like you are a part of the show. You feel included. BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan is what's mostly used still, despite the added meaning of Beyond the Scene. It wasn't just RM and SUGA. They trained a bunch of trainees to form a hip hop group but the project changed and it became a k-pop group. Then they got more trainees but more varied with dancers and vocalists. That's why the 3 first members are rappers. Some rapper trainees left when the project changed and were told that they would have to dance and stuff (like their friend and now in-house producer Supreme Boi). RM and SUGA decided to stay and it wasn't an easy choice SUGA didn't want to dance because he comes from the underground scene and it didn't fit the image. RM didn't want to dance either but when the project changed, they had to either quit or dance. The rest is history. Recently, he picked a real interest to dance and took lessons to solidify his skills. He showed his evolution with a choreography on Haegeum that he was really proud of (it's fire; you should check it out!) And he admitted in his show Suchwita that, at some point, him and j-hope would go to some dance stuff which made him temporarily want to become a dancer, haha. Anyway, I think we can safely say that he indeed took a certain liking to it over the years! In their older stuff, you can really hear the heavy influence SUGA had on j-hope's rap, imo. But, as time goes on, you can hear j-hope's rap evolution. I really love how different the 3 of them sound, it's really refreshing in a song! They all release free music on soundcloud for fans. It's just super cute of them to do that About the hierarchy thing with Jin: that's also what happens with RM. Joon is the leader, but it's a linear hierarchy. They try to keep everyone at the same level. RM has more responsibilities than advantages being the leader Their bond is honestly so cool to witness. The amount of respect and love they have for each other is insane 💜

It is probably a bit overwhelming how much bts content and music there is, but I'm sure even if it is spread out for years, if you want to make bts vids army will be here (sorry in advanced sometimes people are picky or impatient, blame it on the passion :) haha)! Also I really think you will have a good time overall! I didn't expect how much I would end up adoring bts when I first got into them, but they just kept on impressing me and the more I learned of their personalities and story the more i respected them and then the more music I heard I just kept getting surprised and impressed over and over again! no pressure to you, but just from your personality I really think you will enjoy the journey! The lyrics have so much packed in and there is such a great balance of fun songs, deeper songs, even cute songs, and they don't take themselves too seriously and aren't afraid of being dorky and just having fun, yet they also put on some really epic performances, some of the best I have ever seen. Watching their concerts through is always such a great experience even through a screen. I like how you said that even if not everything hits but you don't just jump to hate, i think that is a good quality to have. but I am confident that you would have fun reacting to bts and am glad you're here! Everything they did was filmed. It is released as different content RUN BTS, IN THE SOOP, their Staycations, RISE OF BANGTAN, etc. One thing we see is how encouraging RM as a leader is of all the members. Even V got clapped for his first scratchy attempts to learn the violin. Under his encouragement all members developed their own musical style and were encouraged to write compose and produce. He set the example with the rest of the rap line to produce their solo work. This atmosphere of perfect collaboration cooperation and experimentation, a creative hothouse is what made BTS. The humour silliness and love helped them deal with the multiple death threats, hate campaigns and industry dirty tricks.

Hi there! I’m really enjoying your exploration of BTS. You are doing great. I also want to let you know how much I appreciate your clean language which I find rare and refreshing with YT contents. BTS has never stood for “behind the scene” and often reactors mistakenly say it because it’s a familiar phrase. They did rename BTS as Beyond the Scene however I always think of them as Bangtan Sonyeondan and always will. The difference between BTS and almost everyone else in K-pop is that their CEO was a visionary who did things differently from everyone else. As the guide outlined, Bang PD encouraged and gave them the freedom to be involved in almost every aspect of the making music and performances. He told them to use their own personal experiences to write songs. That’s why so many of us were able to resonate with the lyrics. Either you were experiencing similar experiences or have experienced them. The facets of BTS are so many that we are always amazed and intrigued by them.

regarding the whole "integrated content" thing, I think Yoongi is the one who said that but he said it about the kpop industry, not about BTS specifically. Yes, that was Yoongi who said that during the interview at the Grammy Museum. The interviewer began a question stating that he didn’t want to define Kpop as a genre. Yoongi said it was better to think about it as integrated content making up a visual and auditory package. They definitely call themselves idols which is specific to Kpop. I think ARMY like to say they are beyond Kpop due to the narrow assumption people have about what Kpop is. Yes, BTS has an underdog story and stand out from the “typical” Kpop group but they have operated in that circle for most of their career before paving the way west.

Thank you for this genuine reaction 💜 I answered some of your questions while I am watching below 😆 9:30 the group's name has always been BTS. BangTan Sonyeondan in full Korean, which is translated to Bulletproof Boyscouts in English. In 2017, they added another meaning which is Beyond the Scene, to describe that they are expanding/reaching beyond the scene and opening new doors. This is also the time they introduced the new and current logo (the door shaped logo) and introduced the ARMY logo as well (super rare for any artists to do this) which is the inverted logo of their logo, and if you combine it, it will form a shield, which is also a call to their previous bulletproof vest/shield logo. We also call them a lot of other names but the most common names are Bangtan and Tannies. 13:15 About the integrated content, I think Suga was just asked to describe what K-Pop is and that is his answer. It is an integrated content of music, visual, dancing, etc. But we always say that their genre is BTS and that they are now waaaay bigger than K-Pop. 41:31 Yeah, maybe I will sound crazy, but there is a song called Otsukare by Suga and j-hope. You should react to it and discover the range of the rappers 🤣 52:57 Borahae is the combination of Saranghae (I love you) and Bora-saek (Purple color) so it is "I Purple You" in English. 1:01:51 Speaking of John Cena, he's actually an ARMY and his bias is j-hope 🤭 1:05:50 That issue was just recently, in 2022, when BTS was on the Grammys and performing in Las Vegas for their 4 sold out shows in Allegiant Stadium. And RM called him out about his comments actually lol

I like your display set up with you on the right and the video left almost full screen. Nice. Also, if you ever get into the youngest member (Jungkook)'s living room lives, you have the same background lighting! LOL. Fun! BTS short for Bangtan Sonyeondon but when they got big in America, you know mainstream Americans just can't handle a foreign name so it has morphed into Beyond the Scene. These guys are nothing if not versatile and always changing so I don't think it matters much, they are just BTS. Daechwita part of a trilogy with two songs on his newest album Heageum (meaning a freedom from what was forbidden but also a traditional instrument) and Amygdala (the part of our brain responsible for rational thought and processing all our past traumas to help us protect ourselves moving forward). You'll want to do all three in that order. They are stand alone songs but Yoongi said he wrote them with the trilogy in mind and they share a sort of flow. RM Seoul is so good. I didn't discover it until later in my journey but it is one I'll listen to every time it comes on the playlist. I am not sure how soon you will want to check out JOKE. But when you do, use this link!!!!! it is not even kind of okay if you use the official one that doesn't have actual translation or you get the Russian translation one. This is the one to use. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OxMrBNBWksM.htmlsi=PZ7YRNXVFO-DUmP2 Pretty much anything Yoongi or RM have ever done is worth listening too. They pour their souls into their songs. JHOPE Arson is fire too. But for BTS in general, check out Born Singer. They wrote it on the beat of JCole's Born Sinner back in 2013 shortly after their debut. It gives a good look at their mindset (which is the same today) and one of the many ways they mix rap with vocals. In 2022 JCole gave them permission to include it on their Anthology album. While I don't typically prefer stage mixes, this is a fan fave. It juxtaposes their early stage with one they did about 5 years later. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z5WLRWMYzEU.htmlsi=AKcZ8LjmjobR6BYd For fun, you could do their new released version for their anthology after it and see how RM always manages to change the years in his rap but also, just to see how they evolved over 10 years. I'll include it just in case. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oH4IZw9PYgk.htmlsi=e9OITEuiYvIH-4Rs And another fun BTS start is the Run BTS dance practice. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aqW4xXUgmno.htmlsi=e8HYiy1aG7dt2Ay4 Also when you need lyrics and meanings behind them check out doolset at Wordpress. doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com Just type in the song name and they pretty much gotcha covered. They are one of the best I've seen and tend to give all interpretations of double entenders etc. Also, best to try not to use the color coded lyrics. They are usually rushed out for views and inaccurate and never fixed. RU-vid channel called Dial6137 tends to do a pretty great job. Also, for live performances with Eng Subs (which we prefer live because they are almost always better live, which is insane given their intense choreo etc, but they don't lip sync and they still don't miss often. They do run a background track but it is obviously just that and if they miss something they just laugh or smile at the camera with an oops, but they don't lip sync). Anyway... a channel called Enjoy BTS More works hard to ensure the best subs with the live versions, which can be difficult to find subs for and her videos usually don't get taken down.

Yeah, no denying Joonie IS our leader, he’s the best leader I’ve ever “interacted” with (I’m 30). He’s a great person and definitely makes a difference as a leader for BTS and us ARMYs. It’s a privilege to be lead by him. 💜 And I’m saying that with zero delulu vibes, it’s just facts, the more you see and know the more you understand this guy’s impact.

I must have watched reactors react to this soooooo many times and I enjoy it every time. Hopefully Taylor will be updating this soon. She's certainly planning to bring it up to the present as so much has happened since 2022. Although BTS is supposed to stand for, 'Beyond the Scene', to make it easier for non Koreans but RM said rather tersely that it's not that, it is Bangtan Sonyeondan. (Pronounce it, Bangtan Sonyondan. The 'eo' sound is more like the 'o' in 'song'.) When they introduce themselves they say they are BTS so stick with that. They are very fan focused and do so much for us. Early ARMYs supported them and fought for them through the hard times and they are concerned to pay back that help and love us. Listen to the song, 'Magic Shop', to understand how we are in each other's hearts. SUGA has a couple of little happy dances he does and he's said he really enjoys dancing now. You'll find fan cams which focus on a particular member so you can see that he is a very good dancer but isn't in the dance line which is J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook and V. Watch his talk show, Suchwita, to get some insight into his background and into the backgrounds of those he interviews. He's a softie inside who loves watching cat videos and his family dog, Holly. If the others see a cat while they're out they send him a photo. He's known to the fandom as, Lil Meow Meow, but strangely doesn't have a cat of his own. When I see all the things which J-Hope is afraid of I wonder how he manages in the army where he's now a corporal training others but then I remember that when it comes to it he puts his fears aside and works through it. He's known to the fandom and his brothers as, 'Hobi'. He was the first to step out as a soloist and performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago where he headlined. He is full of fun but looks amazing in designer clothes and his skill as dance captain is incredible. Jin was at a physical university in Seoul. Getting into a university in Seoul is a very prestigious thing to do. He plays his intelligence down but he got accepted early and the younger pupils at his school went up to his classroom to see the guy who got into a Seoul uni. He's now a sergeant in the army training others. He has such a wonderful outlook on life. He might be the oldest but he says that he and JK have an 8 year old's mentality so they just like to mess around together especially on stage. Jin tries to do something fun for us during the encores at concerts. Look at all the different things he wore on his head for the LA concerts. JK was so lucky to be brought up through his teenage years by hyungs with such good values. He says that he started off being selfish and wanting everything for himself but they helped set him on the right path to becoming a thoughtful adult. He sings a lot of the song guides and the adlibs. Being the group's centre at such a young age (he was 14 in international age, 15 Korean age, when they debuted) must have been very hard for him. V is such a divergent character. They thought he was an alien at first. He had a buzz cut and RM thought he was going to be trouble. He ran round the apartment making noises and talking in his TaeTae language but eventually they accepted him and realised that it wasn't an act, it was just how he was at that age. They've got used to translating TaeTae now and he has calmed down as he has matured and is very much his own man. A lot of K-Pop singers also act. Unfortunately V has only acted once in, 'Hwarang' but he did a great job and made some real friends through that experience. It's where he met Park Seo-jun and Park Hyung-sik who, along with Parasite actor, Choi Woo-shik and rapper, Peakboy, formed the friendship group known as, The Wooga Squad. We hope he will return to acting after he is demobbed. He chose to go into the special unit of the police for his army service and is part of the city anti terrorist squad which he had to do extra training for. Yes, it was Jimin and V singing in The Eternals but I'd just listen to the song they sang which is, 'Friends', and is about their relationship as soulmates. They are same age friends called, chingu. They went to school together when they were trainees. Jimin and JK have gone into the army under the buddy system where they will stay in the same unit together. They are in the same unit as Jin but he'll be demobbed in June. Jimin and Jungkook must be a formidable duo with their martial arts and boxing skills. Jimin may be a, cutie luvverly, sexy, sweet guy but he can defend himself and has impressive muscles like JK. Add that to his wonderful contemporary dancing skills and unique singing voice and you have one hell of an entertainer. Thank you for reacting to our wonderful boys (they may be adults but in the UK any group of males is referred to as, 'boys',) BTW you will soon learn to recognise them by their voices. There are other great K-Pop singers but each of BTS has a voice with a distinctive colour. Their individual talents and lack of ego is what makes them so very special.

Slight correction: Tae (nickname for V) just recently acted in a music video of another idol named IU (she is a very famous soloist idol & actor in Korea), the music video/song “Love Wins All”….However as far as kdrama he has only acted in one drama. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if sometime in the future he acts but we shall see… (Suga aka Yoongi has also been praised for his acting abilities in his music videos and been encouraged to try acting but so far he has said he doesn’t think he is fit for it, but we shall see. Yoongi tends to surprise ARMY & also likes to do stuff for ARMY so we shall see as well…I personally think he would be an amazing actor)

They are so much fun live and sound so good. Honestly, it all goes by so fast and you're trying to see everything. We were on the floor but in the back and we're both 5'4'' so we had to watch the screens most of the time. If you can't get in the first 5 rows just sit in the bleachers. 1:43 Actually ARMY is kind of different on a number of points, including crowd control. BTS's concerts are notoriously safe because if the venue is understaffed or ill prepared ARMY has been known to self-manage and step up and direct both people and traffic. That's just one area where this fandom is different though. I highly recommend Boracity Magazine's video How The BTS ARMY Changed Fandom Behaviour to learn more about us. Boracity Magazine also has a string of videos that you might find interesting as a musician/lyricist, like for example BTS vs Radio, BTS vs Spotify or Why The Music Industry Is Terrified Of BTS. They'll not only give you a great insight into the group but also the music industry as a whole. Btw, since Taylor didn't include it in the guide, ARMY is an acronym for Adorable Representatives MC for Youth. Doesn't sound quite as daunting, right?! 😅 I'm fast closing in on being a so-called Silver ARMY (age 50+) and I've honestly never experienced a fandom like this before. We're truly all ages, races, genders, nationalities, faiths, social groups, etc. This fandom has literally helped restore my rather tattered faith in humanity (even if we do squabble sometimes because hey - we're only human after all 🤷🤭) and it's all because we found something and someone to connect us and make us realise that maybe we're not entirely different deep down. 😉 Heck, we even help and support each other across the world when and if we can and have been known to be very charitable towards each other as well as the outside world. - a danish ARMY, age 48 💜 (And you pretty much nailed "Borahae" so don't worry about it. 😄👍)

1:45 About all those Army in the stadium. That's what's so hilarious about the music industry trying to discredit BTS' streaming numbers...Billboard mag even suggested we were bots and literally asked RM about it...but those numbers are backed by audience numbers. Yeah, that Budden clip was in the past couple of years. It was in reaction to J-Hope and J. Cole's collab "on the street." He was just trying to stay relevant. But yeah, this is why ARMY tends to talk about BTS as if we're all part of one group/ family because that's really how we function. Even with how busy the guys are now, they still did lives right up until they left for the military. They deeply care for their fans, and that kind of love really calls for a response in kind. hi! so, for the "integrated content" part - it was their interview at the grammy museum (i'm quoting it in my undergrad thesis haha), yoongi argued thay kpop itself was more than a genre and should be seen as integrated content. i think what people fail to recognize is that kpop has always gone beyond pop music, when it was born, for example, it was with hip hop. in korean, kpop is mainly called "idol music," which makes a lot more sense. although the term kpop is credited to a korean journalist, its first usage was in a western publication (billboard) which i think colours the origin of the term. anyway, i think bts is and always will be kpop, but people's understanding of what kpop truly is is frayed.

Some recommendations to get to know the members better! To explore their music: You should dive into the title tracks of their albums-all of which are amazing! (Don't forget to pay attention to the lyrics.) Some of my favorites are: 1. Blood, Sweat, and Tears 2. Not Today 3. Idol 4. Boy in Luv 5. Black Swan 6. Life Goes On 7. I Need You 8. Run For amazing performances, watch these live: 1. Run BTS 2. Black Swan 3. Dionysus 4. Outro: Tear 5. House of Cards 6. Baepsae 7. Outro: Wings For standout performances at award shows: 1. BTS MMA 2018 2. Butter at the Grammy Awards 3. MMA 2019 4. MMA 2020 5. MAMA 2017 6. Dynamite at the Grammy Awards 7. (Not an awards show) BTS Tiny Desk Concert *To discover their solos:* - Seokjin: Watch "The Astronaut" MV and the live performance in Argentina. His song "Moon" (watch it live) is dedicated to us, ARMYs, and is the sweetest song ever. "Awake" showcases his vocal talent, and of course, my all-time favorite, "Epiphany." - Yoongi: He has three albums, all amazing. The song you liked is called "Agust D" and is from his self-titled album, I recommend watching the Scar trilogy: 1. Daechwita (about Yoongi the rapper), 2. Haegum (about Yoongi the musician), and 3. Amygdala (about Yoongi the human). - Hoseok: He has an album and a mixtape. The mixtape, "Hope World," represents the J-Hope ARMY knows, and "Jack in the Box," the album, shows a deeper side of his persona. Both are amazing live, especially tracks like "Hope World" and "P.O.P (Piece Of Peace) Pt.1" from "Hope World," and "Arson," "More," and "Future" from "Jack in the Box." - Namjoon: With a mixtape, an album, and several solos (plus amazing collabs), you can't experience his music fully without understanding his lyrics-he's a poet at heart. For hard rap, listen to "Do You" and "Joke." From "Mono" (the mixtape), check out "Seoul" (the one you liked), "Forever Rain," and "everythingoes." From "Indigo" (album), listen to "All Day," "Wild Flower," and "Forg_tful." Don't miss his Tiny Desk concert for a live experience. - Jimin: His album "Face" is a masterpiece. "Like Crazy" is exceptional, and "Set Me Free" is a must-see live. "Filter" and "Lie" are also amazing, and "Promise" is one of the best gifts to fans we have ever had. - Tae: You need to see him live, and luckily, he performed his full album "Layover" across various shows. "Le Jazz de V" is also a fantastic experience. Don't miss his OSTs like "Sweet Night." My favorite song of his is "Inner Child" it helped me through a tough time. - Jungkook: His album "Golden" is a masterclass in modern pop. Listen to the entire album and then watch the performances because that boy can DANCE. "Begin" and "Euphoria" are classic Jungkook tracks. DON'T FORGET TO READ THE LYRICS. To get to know THEM as individuals, watch behind-the-scenes content like "Bangtan Bombs," shooting sketches, and BTS Run episodes-they're funny but insightful.* TIP: A great way to explore BTS is to make your viewing a three-part meal. For example, watch the MV for "Fake Love," then the live performance, followed by the shooting sketch of the MV. Or an award show performance followed by the behind-the-scenes of said preformance

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. Actually a whole lot has changed since May 2022. 0.o Haha. BTS always moving too fast for army to update. Taylor is working on an update for us. She gave one to the Throga Channel if u want to watch that. Pls pause as much as u need. We don't mind. It shows us that ur are trying to learn. In the SOOP is vacation in Korea. Somewhere private. Bon Voyage is a trip to another country. Run BTS is their variety show and they have a song by that name as well. And they also have a song called Run. They really like to mess with us, sigh. lol. BTS like the guide said had to resort to other things to find fans. Not many groups survive the 1st 100 days. It's really a rough competition. Many other idol groups have shows now besides BTS. Other small labels and even large labels saw BTS success and were like we want this too. 0.o BTS were the 1st ones to have a YT channel and Twt, etc. All the others followed because BTS were successful and they were nobody in Korea in the beginning of their careers. Because they were known more in other countries because of their social media presence. Their former CEO Pang PD is very innovative. They found a loophole and were able to grow the fandom and start winning awards. Now they are dominating the industry and its an awesome thing to see. Even if the other Big 3 companies have an issue with this. Just call them BTS. RM said in an interview that they are not Beyond the Scene so I ignore talk like that. RM came in 2010. I think Suga in 2011 and JHope a few months later. But don't quote me. The 3 rappers trained 3 yrs. The others 2 yrs and Jimin 6-8 months. Boy with Luv ft. Halsey was my intro song performance on an award show live in May 2019. My ult bias is Jimin, Suga wrecker, OT7. Taylor summed things up very well. She used info from various guides by others and changed a few things. They have i think 800 awards now and growing. RM is the only one fluent in Eng. Though he is rusty these days not enough interaction. JK been studying more. Jimin been studying too and Jhope. All the younger bands and solo artists use BTS as inspiration to find fans. Especially small label groups. Seventeen a 13 member group has mental health songs too which i find very cool. The awards are in a BTS Museum in Korea. I liked hearing ur thoughts. =0] Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army #ThankYouTaylor Ellie Jeann said on 4/5/23 As of this year, they have won over 900+ awards which includes solely and as a group on top side projects that have done past 10 years that continue break records and make history. 3:46 They became the first Kpop male group to perform and speak twice at the UN Assembly. 5:44 BTS started as undiscovered talent in their hometowns but many tend to get confused when seeing this specific scene which is from their episode 8 finale of mini-series #BTSAmericanHustleLife that was filmed in los Angeles (2014). It was part a mission of learning how to ‘self-promote’ by standing on the sidewalk trying to randomly invite people to their mini concert as well as learned from a few western artists under supervision of coolio and warren g throughout the episodes before they performed at the end of the show where they did “no more dream” and “we are bulletproof pt2” along with an ending encore to show what they’ve learned during the final episode. (THOSE WERENT ALL RANDOM PEOPLE 😂 IT WAS A STAGED SCENE BUT MANY OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS KNEW BTS WAS AND THEY WERE THERE WAITING FOR THE MINI SHOWCASE TO START). @femmy-syahrani said Since this video in May 2022, a LOT has happened. First, in June they released an anthology album "Proof" and then announced that they would pause making music as a group and focus on solo work. This is partly because they have to do their mandatory military service for 18-21 months. J-hope was the first to officially debut as a solo artist, releasing the album "Jack in the Box" in July and headlined in Lollapalooza later that month. The album tells a compelling story from beginning to end, with singles "More and "Arson". They held a free concert in Busan in October, live streamed also for free all over the world. Jin released a single "The Astronaut" in October, co-written by Coldplay and performed the song at a Coldplay stadium concert in Argentina. The two bands are very close friends. He joined the military shortly after. RM released his album "Indigo" in December. A masterful journey through the genres, with singles "Wildflower" and "Still Life" ft. Anderson Paak. Jimin released "Face" in March, telling about his emotional journey during the pandemic., with singles "Set Me Free Pt. 2" and "Like Crazy". J-hope released the single "On the Street" ft. J. Cole, and joined the military shortly after. Then Suga/Agust D released "D-Day" in April, an exploration on the theme of liberation, and then embarked on his world tour. We are anticipating albums from V and JK later this year, and likely from Jin after his service. Please note that before these official debuts, all members have released solo work, with all rappers releasing mixtapes and all singers releasing singles. But these past works were not officially released, meaning they were not available on Korean music platforms and not all were available on Spotify or iTunes. Most were gifts for fans, released on Soundcloud and with little to no promotion. They plan to reconvene as a group in 2025 after they all completed their military service. Jungkook's dreamers. @itsbonniefay2417 said on 11/13/23 BTS started from the bottom and they've come all this way, ARMY walking up this mountain together with them... it's so inspiring to see that genuine hardwork and a love and passion for your craft can succeed and have such a spectacular impact on the world. I think of their story and how these 7 kids from all different places in South Korean came together and just worked and worked with no rewards, releasing their first album after years of training and selling 34 copies on it's first day. 2 days less of 8 years later they would release their anthology album Proof and sell 2.15 million copies on the first day... I feel so much pride to see how far they've come. I can't wait to see their synergy and bond in 2025, I'm sure it'll be stronger than ever. @imajinallthepurple said on 11/13/23 6:20 Hundreds of groups debut in K-pop every year but extremely few make it more than 100 days and those are usually from the Big 3 K-pop companies. Boracity Magazine has made a great video on the music industry's (eastern and westerns') attempts to find "the next BTS" which covers a lot of the points you bring up. She also has some a amazing videos on BTS vs different entities in the music industry, like BTS vs Radio and BTS vs Spotify etc. They give you a great insight into the dynamics of the industry as a whole. Taylor really did an amazing job on this intro. She even posted a draft, took on input from us and changed a lot accordingly however she mainly focused on the positive story of BTS but there's a darker side to their success as well. Rosan @xCeleste's video BTS Hardships 2013-2021 shows a very important part of their story and it goes a long way to explaining their uniquely close relationship with ARMY. I highly recommend it. ARMY is actually an acronym for Adorable Representatives MC for Youth - doesn't sound quite as daunting now, does it? 😂 We really are all ages from 1 to 99, genders, faiths, nationalities, etc. We always try to portray the positive values of the group members themselves - love, respect and inclusivity - and although inevitably there are a few rotten apples in a fandom this big (approximately 15 million official fan club members and many millions more unofficial fans), if you receive any hateful comments they're most likely from antis/haters who try to discredit the fandom and BTS to deter reactions to their content. I'm just letting you know because unfortunately it's a common problem for BTS reactors and for us as well. A few helpful tips: - You might want to turn the volume up on the video you're reacting to. 😉 - If you want subtitles on their older songs you need to get them from the RU-vid channel 1theK. It's just as safe and legit to react to. It wasn't until later they started their current channels and they didn't bother putting subtitles on the oldest stuff. - Since Taylor's video Vlive has been incorporated into Weverse, a platform developed by Big Hit but used by many artists and companies now. Fan club membership is not a requirement and that's where they go live now, post comments and respond directly to ARMY's posts if you're extremely lucky. 😅 Have fun discovering the magic of BTS, feel free to ask us anything and enjoy the journey however short or long it may be. 😄 - a danish ARMY, age 48 💜

The rapline all signed with Big Hit in 2010. It's in the Dope BTS episode I think where Hobi tells us he moved into the dorm on the 24th of december 2010 and by that time Yoongi was already there and he "surprised" Hoseok with reality. (Hoseok was actually signed first but only later attached to project and because a missing dance studio trained in his hometown.) BTW Jimin was signed in spring of 2012 - trained for about half a year - than the decision to keep him was made - and debuted with the rest in summer of 2013 - so technically you could say he trained for a bit over a year with the label (but had no individual vocal lessons - IDK why but guess money, timing and the try to make him a rapper played a role) That is AHL was a showcase I guess - the members have called their first concert a concert a bit later. I'm under the impression that they were the first Korean artist to speak at the UNGA. They did it thrice: 2018 (Namjoon's speech has impacted culture), 2020 (a message of encouragment in the midst of the pandemic) and 2021 with diplomatic passports traveling with the SK president and entourage for the SDG (Social Development Goals) moment and performed in the building (pre-recorded as it would have been hard to move through the rows while the politicians were there and it was still coution because the pandemic was not over) "Permission to Dance". "Fire" also has a better translation on 1theK. But if you mentioned "On the Street" there are more songs like "Rush Hour" (Crush), "Sexy Nukim" (Balming Tiger), "Smoke Sprite" (So!YoON!), "Angel Pt.1" (OST), "Closer than This" (Jimin), "wherever u r" (Umi) and BTS songs like "Bastion" (OST) and "Take Two" (hopefully I didn't miss a song). You nice! Keep going! 💜

Wow what a great reaction. There have been some sketchy Guide reactions lately so this was a breath of fresh air. BTS really has a unique touching story, always hits me in all the feels when watching them, on and off stage. I don't really call myself ARMY but I'm a huge fan and am touched when I see others truly appreciate the guys too. I think we'll all enjoy your BTS journey 💜

It's been a while since I literally laughed out loud just by watching someone, but your 'skidaddle' comments at 32:53 got me, that was funny. "That's how you know it's crazy, 'coz I don't use the word skidaddle, but that was defiantly a skidaddle." Thanks for that laugh, it was much needed today 💜💜 Edit: you were talking about wishing, like RM, that there was something more than 'I love you' and in this fandom 'I purple you'/'Borahae' is just that. You'll probably learn the feeling that comes with that phrase during your journey into getting to know them/us also, can we see some of your art? it's cool if not, i know it can be personal, just wondering lol

😅Thanks! I hope to achieve some of the feelings that you all have attached to that phrase. I will def show some art in a video, though they might be from a while back.

@@TEEJ-9 It's a wonderful feeling. I realised I didn't subscribe like I thought I had, I will change that now. Looking forward to watching your journey down the rabbit hole that is BTS' content, and seeing your art 💜💜

Not only was RM the first member, the group was actually formed around him. He was originally the maknae (youngest one)

I love when you say pause and play! I know what to expect! Supertuna says so much about Jin and his spirit of fun!For a long time we identified the members by mic colour but recently they switched them up. Face recognition is impressive. And knowing song lyrics already! Wow. Baby Army in the making!PD Banf the chair of Hybe former President of BigHit says BTS love each other fiercely!

BTS never stood for "behind the scenes". they added the "beyond the scenes" some time ago but I don't think it really stuck. the bangtan/bulletproof version of their name is the one that goes through their career to this day (you'll see many people call them "tannies") and is still referenced in their promotions and songs so tbh, I think that's the only name that is actually relevant
