Nice! Thanks for filling me in. I didn't know that's what the song was about. And yeah I agree 100%. The best art sometimes comes from a very dark place. But it can help so many people who can relate. It can also really help the artist cope with their feelings. I used to say things in songs that I felt I couldn't talk about to anybody.

Yes, Suicide Season is 8 minutes of great instrumentals and ambiance almost ethereal to me an anyway. And Oli's just on point with raw emotion and you can't help but really feel his pain with that kind of passion in his voice. Song is about friend of the band's father committing suicide and the affect it had on their friend, amounting to the friend basically becoming a different person they no longer knew. The song is so earnest, Oli pleading and willing to do anything if he could just get his friend back. Sad song that I know actually saved people from doing something so final. It gives a different perspective on a very important topic, never quite looked at suicide's impact on a child when their parent takes their own life. Teenagers typically have higher suicide rates, not adult parents. Suicide always devastating and so fucking final. It's a great song with deep meaning. It is my very favorite of all time. It's oddly healing for me to listen to. The FACT that anybody exists that can actually care so deeply and authentically love a friend, to write this song? Also, the friend must have been an awesome person, deserving of the sorrow friend's felt when they "lost" their friend due to his reaction to his Dad's unexpected suicide and death. THAT is a precious human being that's able to love that deeply AND show it, and then share it in a song. Oli and BMTH have unusually superior talent in writing meaningful lyrics based on Oli's real life experiences then masterfully adding instruments/sounds that evoke the feelings you can hear and feel when Oli sings, screams, growls.. making music that makes you feel exactly what they felt, as you mentioned Kurtis. That's WHAT they have always been about. Why so many different genres, because some things you can't portray screaming, others you need singing. Same with instruments. They really are one of the few bands/artists that completely "GET IT". THEY ARE MUSIC LOVERS AND CREATORS And that is of first & highest importance to them. Not fame, fortune popularity, not even what fans want can sway their fearless, necessary creativity. Such human beings still in existence, that can feel with that depth to their soul is quite rare, I would know as would you Kurtis because you said that much at the beginning of the reaction. You said it almost as though you were apologizing to the people that DON'T FEEL as much or hear it like we do. Which is fine, some just don't. And that's perfectly fine. Music has been the only loyal thing to me, it's never let me down or disappointed me, never hurt me or left me. Any healing or bettering of my soul has been prompted by a specific sound heard in a lifetime of music making, hearing, feeling and then sharing the music that inspired and ignited my soul! LONG AF, my constant apologies to those with pet-peeves against lengthy posts, comments or messages and "ramblings". I am one by default. Indeed, get on my own nerves, always hyper-aware when typing, yet knowing I must say what I do, and that most won't even attempt to read past the first sentwnce, in fact, I have been "called-out" a couple of times, not even embarassed, never sorry or ashamed. Always humbly replied with facetious humor, polite kindness anf and my lifelong, social awkwardness and painful shyness clearly one cause.
