Fun fact: Eve is an utaite. Utaite are japanese singers who usually starts their career as a singer by singing cover songs.. then as time goes, becomes so talented that they can create their own songs by composing, arranging, writing the lyrics for the songs and singing those songs. They dont usually show their face. Even if they show their face, it is not leaked online...so u r not becoming a fan for their appearance but rather for their talent.

Funfact: How to eat life was single-handedly animated by this one person called Mariyasu. yes, did the whole thing. Mariyasu also directed the animation of Fight Song that eve has on his channel And mariyasu also has made a lot of animations for other people on youtube as well. along with having a personal animation channel

Mafumafu as a creator in itself is worth checking out, his voice is outlandish, the notes he can hit and the way he can play around with his voice is beyond human. As I mentioned in a different comment highly recommend his cover of „Hated by Life itself“ its so popular that the cover is more known than the original. Make sure to READ subtitles for this one! Sore wo Ai to Yobu Dake would be another song by mafumafu I would check out. Mafumafu is male btw. as many ppl confuse him to be a woman because of his voice.

Eve's song is deceptively upbeat but goddamn when you understand the meaning you got punched in the gut with relatability

In "How to Eat Life" the main character is the same one who is featured in his other song "FightSong". I love the linear plot of his music videos and how the characters in one could interact/appear in other MV's. Super unique and having an extraordinary voice and music ability just completely balances all and makes him one of the best artists/musicians in the business. Love you Eve!! ♥

Eve is one of my favorite artists, and was actually my top artist for 2022 (according to spotify). I absolutely adore his music, and it makes me happy to see Nick enjoying his music as much as i do ❤️

The first song that introduced me to Eve was Leo. It was a new and out of world experience for me. I was so happy when he did Jujutsu kaisen opening and Chainsaw man ending 12. He's an amazing artist.

Fun fact: How to Eat Life is the prequel to Fight Song. In the fight song MV, it starts with a person flipping a casette tape with "How to eat life" written on it to the other side which says "fight song" and putting it back in the casette player. Pretty damn amazing how eye has his own little universe

I consider myself to have a holy trinity of J-pop: Eve, Aimer and Ado. Yes, I love many others like Creepy Nuts, HigeDan, ZUTOMAYO, King Gnu and the list goes on, but those three...just hits different. Ado's legendary vocals, Aimer's unique breathiness and of course, Eve and his storytelling. I have been listening to Bokurano and Fight Song on repeat, especially the latter since I've had How to eat Life as my favourite Eve song for the longest time and having some kind of a sequel, featuring my boy Tobi had me falling for the song almost instantly. As for other eve songs to check out, there's Gunjo Sanka, Yoru no Honoka, Yuseiboshi (this one has a stunning MV) and Anoko no Secret are some of my favs, but seriously, all of his songs are absolute jams.

Btw, there is actually an Eve movie. it's called Adam by Eve: A Live in Animation, and it is basically an hour-long Eve music video. I personally haven't given it a try, but it's out there if you want to try it out.

some artists i highly recommend are: -wowaka (unknown mother goose, unhappy refrain, rolling girl) -takayan (cheating is a crime) -miyashita yuu (wozwald, p.h.) -meychan (mobius, mousou kanshou daishou renmei, doctrine) -(more) eve (last dance, yamiyo, outsider, tokyo ghetto) they’re all amazing artists! fun fact: most of eve’s songs with music videos stories are connected. for example, Dramaturgy (and Literary Nonsense) shows one of the main characters Hitotsume (the guy with one eye and the top hat). How to Eat Life focuses on the main character of the series, Tobi (blonde haired guy that falls off the building), who is searching for Hitotsume. the dragon (sausage with teeth) Tobi fights in How to Eat Life gets reincarnated as the girl in Fight Song. Eve has a manga called Kara no Kioku (Memories of Void) that is the story. hope that helps a bit! :D

it's hilarious and amazing to see your reaction every time eve is one of the first Japanese utaites (singers who don't show their faces on the internet) that I discovered, and he is one of the best. I recommend you to listen to other utaites like: mafumafu : his covers for (life hates us now) and (self-inflicted achromatic) his original songs like( hunger ) and (red spider lily) he also has a collaboration with his friend soraru called (after the rain). another artist I recommend is hanatan, especially her collaboration songs with kikuo (it's called kikuhana) like (desert theater), (climb higher! advance! to the high tower).

Please check more Hige Dandism ! They're the ones who did Tokyo Revengers openings ! You could listen to the best ones : "Pretender", " I love", "Subtitles", " Anarchy", "Tell me baby", " Bye bye yesterday " Etc ! It would be a blast, they have incredibles melodies and very weel written lyrics !

I believe that music genres such as Eve and Ado's songs are uniquely Japanese, derived from the Vocaloid music that was (and still is) often posted on Japanese video sites. Vocaloid music has been ridiculed by those who do not like it in Japan, so I am happy that it has evolved in its own unique way and is now appreciated overseas. I hope you will try listening to Vocaloid music sometime.
