You got it all wrong. Cole is singing that higher pitch to show that you don’t have to have a perfect voice to try and sing, or rap, or do anything voice related, but if you try your best and you get good content and good messages out the people will come, his manager said this about the song right after it released saying that was the meaning behind the melodic choruses
