This is one of my Favorite NF songs but it’s SO difficult to listen to. My husband has PTSD and this really takes me back to the dark times we’ve been through. We gave it time and are doing great. We’ve both healed so much but my gosh- recalling those bad days still takes my breath away and brings me to tears. Nate is so talented it’s ridiculous.
That’s why so many people relate to his music & it’s great to have an artist that shows us that they have dealt with the same situations & doesn’t sugarcoat it. he is so open & honest about his mental Health Issues, which are not taken very seriously in society. So that others who can relate, especially younger people who are struggling, that may not even know that others in the world are going through struggles just like them, so this makes them no feel alone & makes them feel understood. & With just knowing that there are others in the world (especially someone who is publicly known worldwide) who has mental health Issues or someone who has been through traumatic situations in their lives, this can literally save so many peoples lives or it can help others figure out how to make their situations better or it can help others to help others & bring more attention to mental health issues, personality disorders, childhood trauma, & shine light on those who feel like their always going to be stuck in the darkness. This is why we need so much more attention to these topics so that we have knowledge of outlets & know that we are not alone & that it’s perfectly okay to not be O.K. All of the time. I suffer from BPD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, OCD, OCPD, Childhood Trauma, ChildhoodAbuse (Mental & Emotional), Adolescent Abuse (Mental, Emotional, Physical, & Sexual). So many people would never even know that I have been through some terrible things in my life, if they met me in person, but lord help my poor husband sometimes because he’s seen possibly every high & low that my mental health issues has to bring. But he also has mental health Issues such as Bi-Polar, BPD Traits, Anger/Rage Issues (he verbally expresses his anger/rage, he’s not physical towards anyone tho), & OCD. So we both have had to see each other on our best & worst days ever. We have definitely been through some thought situations but we have NEVER given up on each other because we know that we have these issues & moments that make us realize that we have to be there for each other & we know how to properly handle each other’s issues so that we can help each other overcome what we may be struggling with at that particular moment. So we don’t have to stay stuck in that head space for far too long & that seriously has been the best part of our relationship for the past 10+yrs. we appreciate one another for being there & never giving up. We need more people who want to be there for each other & understand that we all are not perfect & we all get off track once in a while & that it’s perfectly fine as long as we can safely get back on track.
Mike mr ty for asking! We are actually doing very well overall. My husband lost his job last week, but mentally and spiritually we are richer than ever. So thankful that he’s doing well ❤️❤️❤️
Don’t forget tissues for when you get to “How could you leave us”, it’s one of his most emotional, personal pieces, he sings in it, and he cried in the studio whilst making it. As real as it’ll ever get, that’s Nate. I also recommend “Nate”, too. Another one of his songs, a lot of relatable self reflection and depth; dissecting his own mind, who he is. “How could you leave us” also has a music video to it, so the viewers will have something to watch- but it’s one of his best, so save it for last, eh? I have a ton more I’d love to recommend, especially some of his lesser known gems, but not sure if you’ll see this so..
Same as last time dude, I love the way you analyse these songs it makes me see them in a whole other way and it's much more nostalgic. Thanks for these moments bro
These songs are like the chapters of my life and this is my book Seeing me on the stages, I'm going into the song, I'm turning the pages Turn the pages, welcome to chapter one of my life CRAZY! -NF Hands Up
One of ur best breakdowns of Nate's music...I love how much u appreciate real talent and ur knowledge is insane...u call it(the meaning of his words) before he gets to it...u ROCK...I look forward to ur next video..I can't get enough ✌💙🙏
Ive listened to this song like 100 times by now but always had reactions in the background and the track on while working, was just eating and watched this needless to say just balling my eyes out in my room now, the video hits hard
I wanna see him respond to nf-Intro lll. I really feel like he would like the concept of nf talking to himself in his own mind. And understand the symbolism in that song as well. Knox Hill please mark that song on your to do list
Please read my dude it would make a great video: Review Mansion and Intro III (in that order) (both Nf) Few pointers tho -Mansion is very metaphorical and lays down foundations for other references -In Intro III focus on who it is speaking -Also links between fear and traumatic experiences Nate had with his stepdad
This song is so special to me. My girlfriend is the one who got me into nf, and she showed me this song and said that it was for us, because everything he says in the song is basically her. But she's so worth it, I love her so much.
There’s a collab between Upchurch and Adam Calhoun called die tonight. Also Upchurch just dropped a new song with Tom Macdonald and struggle Jennings called travelers.
I'm on my boyfriends account but when he did this song at Lollapoolza he said her first name and his last name before. Doing this song. They got married before the end of 2018 so its the first time he used her married name publicly. It was cute. You could see her on the side of the stage most of the set. Shes so supportive.
Yes, Nate wrote this to his wife and it really touched her. Nate was smart to use actors instead of himself doing the video, that way it is relate-able to every couple! If you want to know what Nate and Bridgette had for their wedding reception, look closely at what the guy was eating at the end of this video. Bridgette has photos online of their wedding and the dinner afterwards. Great spread of unique food. It looked great, but I never saw a reception dinner like this.
Another great NF reaction. This song brought tears the 1st 8 times I watched the music video. 1st years of my marriage were rough. Glad we made it. This song helped me resolve getting through it years later. Sometimes during the hard times you don't get to reflect cause life (Time) moves on with or without you.
great breakdown man, I just ran across your video and I wanna say it was put well nicely. perfect pauses, you catch little details and at the end you give your thoughts and I wanna say thanks for making a great video and actually giving your thoughts rather than sitting there bobbing your head. keep it real
Hey, Knox Hill!! Since you're getting into the whole country rap/hick hop genre of music, I highly suggest you react to song by the band called the "Jawga Boyz" and the songs I want you to react to is called "Plastic bottle", and "Chillin' in the backwoods".
If you want to hear more of NF's beautiful singing voice, check out "You're Special" and "Let You Down" ... you won't be disappointed. Beautiful stuff.
I like watching your videos bc you express your that you're a genuine person so fluently if that makes sense. Your personality shows through your videos. Keep up the good work 👍
Yes! You nailed it - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was the same vibe I got from the video. I love when you are reacting to something truly great and we can just see the creative spark go off in your mind and know you were inspired. 👍🏻
[Lyrics] Even if we both break down tonight And you say you hate me, and we go to bed angry I know everything will be alright I'll be here waiting, I promise I'm changing I just need A little time to show you I'm worth it I know that I can be a difficult person I'm a stress case, drive you up the wall when I'm workin' Actually, I'm probably worse when I'm not, you don't deserve it Make you nervous 'cause you know I'ma break soon Every time I do, I say somethin' that hurts you Actin' like I'm gone, but we both in the same room I don't like to be wrong, which I know you relate to And I know I make you feel like you're at the end of your rope That's when I look at you and tell you I'd be better alone Just the pride talkin', isn't it? 'Cause both of us know I'm the definition of "wreck" if you look into my soul Comes out the most when I feel I'm in a vulnerable place Made a lot of mistakes I wish I knew how to erase When I'm afraid, might get distant and I push you away But no matter the case, I'ma do whatever it takes even if Even if we both break down tonight And you say you hate me, and we go to bed angry I know everything will be alright I'll be here waiting, I promise I'm changing I just need Time (oh) I, I need time (oh, oh) I just need time (oh) I, I need time (oh) Time (oh), time (oh) Yeah, way before I bought you the ring We were fighting back and forth like you were wearin' the thing Two passionate people not afraid to say what they think Lead to passionate conversation when it's hard to agree You know me well, sittin' on the edge of my seat Lookin' at life, overanalyzin' everything Always depressed, tryna find a better version of me Searching for somethin' I know's prolly right in front of my feet Stubborn as me? Maybe not, but you're close to it Got a lot of issues, I'm tryin' to work through 'em Going to therapy for you's somethin' that's worth doin' When I know you been there for me through all of my worst moments And I know it hurts knowing that I carry this weight on my chest Making it difficult for me to open up and connect Lot of regrets, I apologize for all of the stress That's not what I meant to do, you know I love you to death even if- Even if we both break down tonight And you say you hate me, and we go to bed angry I know everything will be alright I'll be here waiting, I promise I'm changing I just need Time (oh) I, I need time (oh, oh) I just need time (oh) I, I need time (oh) Time (oh), time (oh) I just need time (oh) I, I need time (oh, oh) I just need time (oh) I, I need time (oh) Time (oh), time (oh)
Seinfeld did an episode when it started at the end but played the story backwards. And unfolded the whole episode from the end to the beginning brilliant!!!
I kno this reaction is old, n I already watched it when it first dropped, but I just hadda comment when u said about the movie "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind" seriously one of the best movies ever! One of my all time favorites n so many ppl never even heard of it....also "What Dreams May Come" Robin William's movie...ugh, 2 of the best movies ever made that never made it BIG but definitely should've!
Bro eternal Happiness of the Spotless Mind was such a trippy movie. Definitely not one you’re going to follow if you only see this reality on a linear path. You’ve got to have a different mindset to get that movie. Good reference right there glad I checked your reaction to this song
Can you please react to NF- Lie & NF-Let You Down. I'm not sure if you have already done those. Also I would love to see your reaction to some old NF from his Mansion album and Therapy Session album like Got You On My Mind & Paralyzed.
4th comment i love every single bit of content you make actually a channel named viction brought me here he used a piece of your song new era for his outro
Knox, this is another great breakdown. Full of content and a timely mention of the artistry. How about reacting to a song featuring NF. The title is ‘EPIPHANY’. And another by a rock band ‘I PREVAIL - HURRICANE’. I promise it is a masterpiece. By the way, seeing NF live in San Jose, CA. October 26th. Peace. Like your music as well. Keep with it.
