In 1991 NOBODY was preparded for THIS sound. I know as a kid/teen I often tried to introduce them to friends only for them to be confused by his rap over their funk/heavy rock riffs and drumming. Yeah, RAGE was ahead of their time by 2 decades cause DAMNNNNNNN this era is eating it up! I'm in heaven 😁 And bro, it IS beautiful 💯

Do Freedom by Rage, off the first album...it was the song that cemented me as a fan for life, Zach goes Super Saiyan in the finale of the song...you just cant fake that, only other song i remember from that time that went that emotionally hard was singer of Korn in their song Daddy, do not listen to that Korn song without being knowing that it is emotionally brutal...just total emotional/spiritual commitment to the moment. you do not get more real.

If you like music with similar lyrics to RATM check out CRASS, The Clash, The Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, and Sin Dios. The bands aren't really anywhere near hip hop but the similarities between Punk and Hip Hop are their lyrics and both were highly influenced by Reggae.

Almost every Rage song is a proper history lesson of what US forces did in Mexico and basically every other country in Latin America (not the lies you got taught in history class in school), and the other songs are basically about how the American people are controlled by their own government/corporations etc
