There are a lot of parallels between these guys and (the original lineup of) Sepulutra. Both bands are bilingual with songs in English and their native languages with singers and drummers that are brothers and were around 15-16 years old when they started and both bands are about bringing cultural awareness to their respective cultures since the old ways are dying. Native Maori in Alien Weaponry's case, and the tribes of Brazil in Sepultura's.

These guys are Māori, from New Zealand. The language they're using is Te Reo Māori, which is related to the other polynesian languages. Tangaroa is our ocean god. That particular chanting vocals are like haka, which is shared by many polynesian peoples, although I don't know think you could call this haka specifically. Eta: Oh yeah, if you haven't seen haka before, check out our rugby team the All Blacks perform it. I can't think of a specific video or I'd ask for a reaction video for it 😅

As a European rugby fan I would love to see our friends react to a haka (against France in 2011 wc for example). Much respect from Europe and keep headbanging.

@@CharlesManue Oh yes, that one was good, definitely a good option for a reaction video! I prefer Ka Mate over Kapa o Pango, which is the haka that they used vs France in 2011, but that's just personal preference.

You guys should react to Ru Ana Te Whenua by Alien Weaponry it's one of there first releases and it's awesome. They're Māori by the way, indigenous to New Zealand.

Love the video guys! Trash talking is the key to all the best conversations haha here in NZ we say 'having a yarn' Also, 'Tangaroa' and Kai 'Tangata' is pronounced like the ending of 'tongue' (the thing with the awesome yarns ;p) So: Tongue-a-roa (roa like rower) And Tongue-ata It's hard, don't stress hahah ka pai o rawe mahi! I don't think Henry gets enough credit for head banging consistently underwater. Also, they might not say it, but they seem heavily influenced by Silverchair, a rock band from Australia from the 90's and early 2000's. Same riffs and drum beats, just metal instead of rock.

Love these guys. Something about the tribal kind of beats. Similar to sepultura, soulfly, even old ill Nino. The native languages, beats, e.t.c just hit me in my soul. Makes me want to look into my ancestry, (mostly Scottish, some native American, some Scandinavian), more.

Yes the lads, thanks for checking out the lads from Alien Weaponry... If the brothers are keen to check out Maori culture that's both musical, theatrical and if you know of the Haka then please have a look at Maori Performaning arts... Te Matatini it's a big annual Maori kapa haka (performing arts) competition from Iwi (Tribes) from all over NZ... I think you 2 might be surprised...

Strong recommendation for Blindspott - Nil by Mouth if you want a taste of more Kiwi Rock, Mind Dependancy is another hard track. If you want some softer tracks by them Phlex is a fan favourite but I was always a fan of Ilah (Silent War).

BILLY IDOL - REBEL YELL is the best start for a hit of his but honestly he has so many deep cuts that are way better than all of his hits. After Rebel Yell, if you like it, I would listen to: MAN FOR ALL SEASONS SPEED NEW FUTURE WEAPON RITA HAYWORTH GHOSTS IN MY GUITAR BLUE HIGHWAY …and there are so many more!!!
