Breaking benjamin is another band whose entire discography deserves a listen. Ben (the lead singer and founding member) used to do Tool covers when he was starting.

My sister moved to California. She was ten years older than me. She went missing in 2003. In California after 7 years you are declared legally dead. I'm from Illinois. It haunts me to this day wondering what happened to her. She was bipolar. I'll never know and the rest of my family has passed. I'm the only one left. I have no kids. HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU HAVE.

As a person who has struggled with depression for years, music helps me a lot. When it gets bad, I close off and throw headphones on and just jam for hours on end. I have not been suicidal in over 20 years. Peace and Love!

The lyrics hit hard at times especially when you lose someone close to you. A sibling a parent or a dear friend or loved one. I lost both my parents and my first child so when I hear this song that you both did for him it brings tears to my eyes.

Makes me think of my mother that passed from pancreatic cancer some years ago now....are you with me through it all? then why can't I feel you? fuck....because I don't feel her I can't hear her and it hurts to think there's nothing, that she is nothing and I have no more connection.... and that this is going to be how it is for my kids...painful fn shit.

Awesome song everybody was surprised when breaking ben came out with this cause it was so different than any of there other work. This is the lightest song that they have done these guys are know for there hard rock heaviness. You guys def got to check out there earlier heaviest stuff that there know for. This is a great episode and a great song/band. I feel for all the people in all the world who lost someone in there life to Suicide. My cousins mom/my aunt committed suicide just 2 years ago. She was the nicest person ever knew and has a great family. 😢 420 every day helps with my anxiety a lot. 🌲😁💨🤪😎

R.i.p Xander. Mason if you read this I want to extend my sympathy for what you are going through. I am making a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness in your brother's name. Please keep sharing his story You know years ago I was asked about why I liked metal music yet I seem to be such an upbeat person. I heard a quote in a movie once that summarized it well. "You are having a bad day and feeling down and you put on some metal and you hear those vocals and lyrics and in that moment you know somebody else feels that way. And all the sudden you don't feel alone" there's a Killswitch Engage song called "I am Broken too" that literally says that its ok to be broken, we are all broken.

Man sorry for your loss, Mason. I lost my little brother a couple years ago. It's so hard but it gets better brother. Is this your only BB song? I searched but this is all I can find. I hope you do more BB. My personal favorites are So Cold and Breath. They also have a 3 part video series Red Cold River, Torn In Two, and Tourniquet that's really good. The video tells a whole arch of a story. Super good stuff Although those 3 videos will be a big shock to you if Ashes of Eden is your only exposure to BB. They have soft songs like this, then they have pretty hard songs like Red Cold River. They're always awesome though.

This is my #3 top band for a very good many reasons. They were #2 (falling in Reverse is there now) Breaking Benjamin is very deep. He sounds just like he is in the studio when you go see them live. Definitely go for more of their content. Diary of Jane is one with a story. Check it out.

Actually (New subscriber.....love what y'all do.....even if Falcon fans.....lol) But singer from Breaking Benjamin has been sick for a while due to excessive drinking. I gathered this song is about reaching out to whatever spiritual awareness for some sort of guidance in his own struggles. I’ve met Ben from Breaking Benjamin, his depression is expressed in his lyrics, but there is ALWAYS a thread of hope in their music. I have his lyrics tattooed on my arm in memory of my mom who was taken too soon. He autographed my arm and I tattooed that on my arm as well. He and I discussed depression and how his lyrics have gotten me through the darkest days of my life. He is such a nice man, arranged for my self and my three teenagers to be front row and took my son up on stage during the concert. Breaking Benjamin songs are definitely therapeutic if you dig deep enough into the lyrics. Ben’s lyrics will take you to dark places, but never without some hope mixed in with those lyrics. I’d love to see you react to their song “Angels Fall” lyric video. Official video takes away from the lyrics.

For me, Breaking Benjamin fit into either heavy groves or warm ballads: For the former, try: The Diary of Jane, So Cold, Blood, and Psycho... For the latter, try The Dark of You, The Great Divide, and Failure. Solid song writing from a solid band..

It's a bit tricky for a grown man with decades of metal music behind him to like post-nu-metal bands like this, they don't have a shred of street cred, but this band in particular, - I love his voice and style and I love their approach to harmony, structure and texture. A band who knows how to put together a song, mix, release and repeat.

I dont talk about this but I had a horrible thing happen to me 34 years ago which laid me low, emotionally, anyway felt like i had no one in my life i had rooting for me or could trust...i started researching the best means of ending everything... im sure everyone experiences things differently but i had a vivid dream.... it was a place of blackness though you could see the outlines of things moving in the darkness(think of an overcast early twilight but no sun) it was a beach like place with the water lapping at my feet, no matter how far i walked everything stayed the same. then a voice(Feminine in nature) asked "Is this where you want to be?" it was at that moment i realized that was the prison i was forging for myself.... What you do in this world will NOT get you into Heaven...BUT what you do in this world WILL get you to Hell... I realize if i had committed suicide, it would be both selfish and would be depriving my light to this world....i throw people for a loop sometimes though i usually have a grumpy demeaner i'll say in an annoyed tone "Have a Great Day" or "You know what.....You're Awesome" they tend to do a double take...i get it now...though i didnt then....
