The entire ‘Burn My Eyes’ album which this is from is absolute fire! MH have had a varied array of genres over the years but this album, the next one ‘The More things Change...’ and one of their more modern and arguably their masterpiece ‘The Blackening’ are all brilliant! Davidian is definitely one of their most “popular” songs. Imperium, Old, Death Church, Ten Tonne Hammer, Halo, Aesthetics of Hate, Beautiful Mourning and Block are great places to start. Also MH are from the Bay Area! 🤘🏼
Doesn't have one second that is not pure rip your head off, run through a wall , unadulterated metal! At 18 the only time, I sprained my neck , unable to turn my head for 2 weeks, istening to this album when it came out in my first brand new car. A 1991 Pontiac Gran Am with the quad 4 in it. Lol.
Machine Head to react to: "Imperium", "All Falls Down", "This is the End", "Aesthetics of Hate", and "Descend the Shades of Black". There are tons of other great songs...
I love how yall realized not to talk over key sections of the songs like ya did back here 2 years ago ! Im looking at you Hollywood 6ix LOL ! Love yall you know im playin . I comment on all your shit . Man , you guys have come a long way ! Keep it up !!!
I still remember how my buddies looked at me when I started playing this album after it just came out. This was the hardest shit next to Pantera at the time and ppl were simply not ready in my area! :D
This WHOLE album changed my life! I've seen Machine Head multiple times and they deliver full stop every time. Soulfy and Machine Head State Theatre Det Mi STILL makes the hairs stand up! Let freedom ring!!
OK some Machine head songs to react to: Old block Ten ton Hammer Bay of Pigs The Blood Sweat the Tears Bulldozer (A nu metal song) From this day Imperium Days to Blue to Grey Seasons Wither Halo Aesthetics of Hate now we Die The Burning Red Descend the shades of night If you want to hear a epic base intro Spine Their covers of Battery and Hallowed be thy name are great songs as well Also, the band is from Oakland California as well.
Yeah I was a little sad they missed that. That fill gets my adrenaline spiked every time I hear it and I bought that album when it came out in '94. Nearly 30 years and thousands of times listening to it and its every bit as good each time.
The album came out in '94, and yeah the song is about David Koresch and his cult at Waco. These guys have been around a long time, they're from Oakland so other coast, sorry. But they toured a lot with Biohazard, Pantera, etc. They were one of the big metal bands of the 90s. Not as big as Pantera or Metallica, but they were up there. I saw them at Ozzfest in '97 in Denver. They've got elements of a lot of the bands you guys talked about, but I think their drums and some recognizable sounds they use a lot with the guitars set them apart. Once you here a few of their songs you can definitely recognize them. Thanks so much for doing the video I thought you guys would like them. Most all of their stuff is raw, emotional and energetic as hell. The song Imperium is great. Really anything off their first two albums Burn My Eyes or The More Things Change are awesome. They have so much stuff over the years its hard to pick them out off the top of my head. They also do a really cool cover of Message In A Bottle I liked a lot.
I can't stand Robb Flynn (the singer) at all but I liked Machine head in the 90's and The Blackening is right up there with the top metal albums of the last generation. I remember watching an interview of him here in Australia on Channel V saying they got rid of this drummer in the songclip because he didn't look metal enough cos fat. Robb went with nu metal change in the very early 00's to cash in on the craze and it almost ended the band. One of the concerts I went to, he stopped mid song to cuss out some guy up the front with hearing plugs in and for the crowd to laugh at. Fired founding member Adam for disputed reasons. Then says he loves antifa and everyone else are terrible people... Just a drop kick. Seen em a few times in the late 90's, late 00's during blackening tour and another one a few years later here in Australia. Put on a good show though. Their anthem was 'Halo' which is a great anthem song. Ten Ton Hammer was their anthem in the 90's and 00's. Motorhead totally different.
Machine Head really changed the game with this album. It was like a natural progression from 80s Thrash to an even more aggressive sound and blew everyone away at the time. This album and The Blackening from 2007 are their top two albums IMO and top metal albums of the year.
Burn My Eyes is such a heavy album. The production still holds up as well. Machine Head is like a mix of Slayer,Pantera, and Biohazard. My ears at least.
yeah, the whole album is awesome, same kinda awesome as RATM's debut. MH went numetal / bouncy metal from this on, and returned on Throught The Ashes of The Empire album in 2003. FIrst time saw them live in 2005ish.. one of the best gigs I've seen.
@@tubelious I'm not a massive fan but I just love the groove they have. They aren't going 1000 mph all the time. And The More the Things Change album ain't no slouch either.
Screw it, thumbs up before the video even starts 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 if I didn't have a hernia I'd be bouncing around like a madman 🤘😝🤘 Edit: Smokey "Wikipedia" Ramirez strikes again (let freedom ring with a shotgun blast)! 'Imperium' by MH is also a popular choice and guaranteed to put a smile on your face 😁
Same boat, homie. knew of the band by name, not by material, and holy shit, fantastic stage presence and performance Whole row infront of me (stand seats) screamed that "Let freedom ring" part. That is burned into my memory forever x
You should definitely do more Machine Head. Their albums all have a different sound. My favorite is "The Blackening". You should do the song "Halo" from it.
@@Hollywood6IX just make sure you do the 9 minute (album) version. There's a shorter version out there, but you won't get the full effect... Let's DO it!!!
As an old Norwegian metalhead who have seen 95% of your reactions, and with joy, the only Norwegian band I have seen you do is Satyricon. You have probably just forgot about Dimmu Borgir (Forces of the northern light - Live "Gateways and or very song from that concert. I promise! It will blow you away) and Emperor Live at Wachen 2006 (with strenght I burn). I am looking forward to these reactions. Have a beautiful day Trash talkers Ps!
Nine inch nails pls, Trent reznor is a one man army, from soundtracks for movies to scoring movies and NIN have been around since like 1989 and have such a wide range of sounds it is a lot to get in to but its a great ride your love every twist and turn.
The entire Burn My Eyes album is a masterpiece. Not a bad song on there! My personal favorite is None But My Own, but I think you guys would have a great reaction to Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies.
This was 1994. Machine Head is a California band. The singer, Rob Flynn, was in the thrash band Vio-Lence in the late 80s. Machine Head is pretty much considered Groove Metal. Listen to Aesthetics of Hate, Old, Ten Ton Hammer, The Blood Sweat and Tears, Bulldozer, Imperium, Locust, and Now We Die. If you want some nu Metal sound try From This Day by the band. It came out in 99 at the height of Nu Metal.
Machine Heads two first records "Burn My Eyes" and "...the more things change" are still to this date two of the most brutal and hard fucking metal records ever released
🦋 Awesome request Dan! Machinehead's "The Darkness Within" is my favorite! If you guys do anymore of their music. I hope you do this one. The lyrics are amazing! "LET FREEDOM RING WITH A SHOTGUN BLAST!!!" 🤍🎶🙌🎶🤍 The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn in Oakland, California.

I had this! Also Killer Cuts and the Hammered volumes from Metal Hammer really opened my eyes to a lot of great music when I was getting into metal. I still have them all.
Its funny that you mention Biohazard since they were around at the same time and played often together too. other amazing band during that time was FEAR FACTORY and you already did a video for their song Replica ^^
