Dave was kicked out Metallica for drug use/unreliability. He started Megadeth but couldn't find a singer so he decided to do the vocals himself. The big 4 live together at Sonisphere would be a dope reaction.

This song has one of the best solos ever it was played by one of my all time favorite guitarists Marty Friedman.

Tehnically speaking, the Best thrash metal band ever!

James and Lars stuck Dave on a bus back in 1983 and sent him back to California. They were sick of his violent and abrasive nature he was displaying. He had a huge drug and alcohol problem. He wrote a few songs on the back of a pizza box on his way back to California and vowed to start his own band. And we can all see how that turned out. It was meant to be. Marty did that solo in one take. He's such a maestro, and the best Dave has ever had beside him.

The lead guitarist on this album was Marty Friedman, he is an incredible guitarist, he did a project in Japan called Death Panda, you should check it out.

When I was 14 in 1991 I went to Clash Of The Titans which was Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth & Alice In Chains. I saw 3 of the big 4 in the same concert. I have seen Metallica in cincert, but not with the other three bands of the big 4.

Hands down the best thrash metal album of all time....30+ years and running. The "thing" that sets Megadeth apart from other thrash bands is the influence of progressive rock, jazz fusion and swing. If you do a deep dive on the personnel over the years and different lineups, you will see what I mean. Metallica will win a lot of popularity contests, but they are nowhere near the level of musicianship as Megadeth....not now, not ever.

In 2010 the big four did a tour together, touring stadiums. The clip that you're thinking of Smokey; is all the bands together on stage performing Diamond Head's "Am I Evil?". Which was a cover song that Metallica did on an EP back in the day. Everybody from the various bands performed except for three members of Slayer who chose to not participate, but their drummer Dave Lombardo, did join in.

Dave was kicked out because James and Lars saw he was on a path of self destruction and they thought he’d end up killing himself or possibly them while he didn’t appear on any of their albums he helped write the majority of the album Kill Em All and is credited on a few songs from the Ride the Lightning album

If you guys liked this one I highly recommend 'Dread and the Fugitive Mind' by Megadeth. Imo has the second best solos they've done next to this masterpiece.

Also. If you'd like to check out some of the new wave of thrash metal, the NEW Big four would have to be Evile, Havok, Vektor and Municipal Waste. All amazing bands. I was lucky enough to see the first and only Big Four performance in the UK at Sonisphere Festival 2011, and let me tell you as a metal head that was a dream come true, truly something you never thought you'd see.

Dave Mustaine co wrote many of the songs in Metallica's first album, Kill em All. He was kicked out of the band due to personal issues (Drugs, alcohol). I would LOVE to hear y'all react to some Children Of Bodom. Alexi Laiho was a fantastic Vocalist/Lead Guitar player and a wizard at writing. His passing at the end of 2020 shook the entire metal community. I would recommend Needled 24/7 or Are You Dead Yet to start.

There's a lot of modern Thrash out there. There was a whole resurgence of the genre from the mid '00s to the mid '10s. Check out some Havok, Warbinger or Vektor.

New modern thrash band with old school feel is HAVOK song THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE ! A newer ba d not really thrash but thrash influence musically and vocally is ORBIT CULTURE ! The singer sou ds like James Hatfield with heavier growling vocals. They are an amazing band!

I love this song so much. To me, it's all about a moment of clarity for an addict. The song begins with him realizing he's the cause of all his problems, that his drug abuse is undoing him. It's followed by a brief moment of hope and optimism (the eye of the tornado) and then back into the hell at the end. It's perfect.

"Rust in Peace" is in IMO the greatest metal album of all-time (with some stiff competition) This album from beginning to end is a masterpiece. Menza's drumming and the duo of Friedman and Mustaine is fire!!

I pretty well wore out the physical tape out on the cassette of this album back in the 90s. This album is one of the best metal albums ever made.

"Humanicide" by Death Angel is a more modern "old" sounding thrash song. Death Angel was around in the '80s but broke up in '91. They reformed in '01 and this song is off there 2019 album of the same name.
