The Rapsodo software doesn't have the ability to do off centre alignment at the moment.. however definitely send an email through to them as a few people have been talking about it recently.
So it's all about aligning it with the position of impact (or intended point of impact) and working back to get the position at the back of the room. From there you can go in and select the required offset in the software if the software has that capability.. I know GS Pro does for instance. And then the ball will take off from the place where the ball impacts the screen.
I am watching your video very well. Thank you for providing your information. I have one question for you. The height of the position where I place the ball and the position where I place the mlm2pro do not match. So I'm trying to buy a stand on which I can put the mlm2pro. Can you tell the distance between the legs of the triangle and the legs?
Hey mate thanks for that! Sorry I can't understand the question. In my opinion you don't need a stand. I just put mine on a bit of gym mat that I had left over. You could even use some foam or a bit of wood.. anything to raise it up to the height of your mat. Cheers
Howdy Joe. I do have a question for you not exactly relating to this video but it does relate to launch monitors. I used to be a good golfer, started at 13 and stopped at 21 years old. When I stopped I was and had been playing off a handicap of 2 for a year or so. I was trying to make something of golf but quite a few things just didn't work out so I gave it away and started studying. Now 11 years later I'm pushing back into the game but I have a lot of work commitments and a family with 3 small kids so I'm time poor. Even though it's been 11 years i'm still very in tune with my swing, ball striking and direction of flight and can confidently guess the ballflight of a shot even though I am hitting into a net. What I'm after is a budget launch monitor that is accurate on ball flight. I'm not a huge stat person as I have always played more on feel but I am still wanting an accurate ball flight graphic and grouping etc with accurate distance measurement through all clubs. I would LOVE to have an indoor setup but that is currently not possible so all my practice will be outside in a net or if I take it to the range (mostly net) I also want the ability to play rounds of golf but this is not the primary use (but maybe it will be once I get hooked?) I was always going to buy a Garmin R10 but Rhapsodo is now a real thing and may seem more accurate "when it works"? I also know there are more expensive options but I'm not sure if I can afford them to be honest. The breakdown is. - Accurate stats for a good golfer. - Accurate ball flight. - Outside use. - Can work on all clubs (Inc woods). - Is possible to play rounds of golf. - Hopefully budget. - easy to accurately setup (it won't stay setup) Is the Garmin good enough for this or is it too inaccurate with ball flight and driver / wood shots? Would I need an MLM2 PRO and just deal with the subscription? If I'm not bothered with spin rates would I even need to pay for the subscription on the Rapsodo... Anyway. Any advice you give will be appreciated. PS. I was going to try and email you this but couldn't find one attached to your account. Cheers Jon
Hey Jon, Ok so for my 2c the first 4 dot points you said the MLM2PRO is perfect for you .. it ticks everything you want and eventually you will be able to play e6 with it. I don't know if it will ever have GS Pro connectivity but that doesn't sound like a priority for you. Everything else on the list the MLM2PRO beats the Garmin at and in my opinion if you're after accurate data and a unit to practice with at a high level for your case I'd get the MLM2PRO and Awesome Golf as the software! Honestly you can't go wrong with it.. it's a bit more expensive and yearly fees but you may as well spend the extra money and get something you know is 100 percent accurate. I absolutely love my Garmin R10! That little unit is absolutely fantastic and in my opinion gets shot shape correct 90 to 95 percent of the time and is better for Sim golf but this doesn't sound like your priority. Also in my opinion the MLM2PRO is better to use outside on the range with the cameras they are great. You get your shot tracer automatically and also get the impact cam.. it's absolutely fantastic. Hope that helps mate
Fantastic video Joe! I’ve been following you since the MLM2PRO was released and I finally got mine delivered. I do have my MLM2PRO setup right up to my garage door. I used my 48 inch level and show the floor does slope down towards the garage door. How can I make sure I’m perfectly level with the hitting mat and net? I do have a laser level as well.
Hey Michael thanks for that! So for me I just made an educated guess based on the very slight slope and distance. If you really wanted to get millimetre accuracy you could do some math but for me I just raised it up a few millimetres. Hopefully you aren’t having connection issues with the unit! Cheers
Hey mate for me aligning outdoors was as simple as standing behind the device and just using the little line on the top. I didn't have a lot of issues and because you aren't really getting club path and face data it doesn't have to be absolutely perfect. If you're still struggling though I would suggest getting a stand that has a spot for an alignment stick so then you have a really good visual representation of where it's aiming. Cheers
Hey joe I have the garmin now for about 2 weeks and I have had a lot of issues with interference/ missed shots and the chipping, im considering returning and paying the difference for the mlm2pro. Does the mlm2pro have the same radar interference issues and stuff as the garmin, also how is it to setup to gspro? Does it come with any simulation courses or anything with it? Thanks again for the great videos
Hey mate yes there are some interference issues with the Garmin. Do you have a projector or a fan? These can cause interference with the unit. I haven't experienced any interference with the MLM2PRO however at this point in time it's still early days.. I do think they need to tweak the radar to make it a bit more sensitive and also adjust the cameras for the chipping window. At this point in time chipping isn't a great experience with the Rapsodo however I do think this will get a lot better as Rapsodo has acknowledged this issue. I have plenty of videos on the Rapsodo definitely check them out it's a great unit and it's getting better and better with each update. Cheers
@@JLagGOLF I was even considering going to sky track but by the way it sounds all the units even the more expensive ones still miss shots. I guess that’s the simulator game
Can you re-align in E6 or other third party app? It do you have to sign in the MLM2Pro app each time first, then exit and connect to a third party app?
@@JLagGOLF Thanks Joe, great channel and info! Also, when you direct connect via iPad, your iPad must have cellular if you want to use any online content, correct? Or can you direct connect with an iPad and also have the iPad connected to your local Wifi?
Hey mate so initially I bought it from Carl's place. I got the premium impact screen with flaps so the black around the sides covered my metal frame. However the actual screen wasn't that durable so I got an impact strip from Hybridme.co.uk and the material was far superior! I explain it all in my how I built my Sim video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9Lz3dKTxqrs.html Cheers
Hey Cory I should have explained in the video when I putt I am using my foresight GC2. There is actually now putting with a webcam integrated into the Rapsodo connector! Only just released yesterday. So exactly like the R10 connector you can now do webcam putting with the MLM2PRO. For example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T2lbu50rzjc.html
Hey mate I actually made them for a LOT cheaper than you think.. skip to the 5 minute mark in this video I talk about how I did it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MCYjMZ4N4L4.html
Hey mate I can definitely add it to the list but I highly doubt they would.. the best alternative I've seen so far are the just a potomus stickers. justapotamusdesigns.com/
@@JLagGOLF yes I found those stickers as well. Will keep them in mind if I decide to change from the R10 to the MLM 2 Pro, but I am really struggling with the cost of the subs.
Yes, this is one of the best way to do alignment....I don't have laser level tool, so I basically drop a line of thread from ceiling plus an alignment stick to do the job. The tripod of mlm2pro is not as rigid as R10....that means I can't just setup a fixed position like I did with R10....and need to do the alignment everytime I use it, which is quite annoying. The mlm2pro does not remember the last connection and asked which one to connect is also very annoying.
Yeah you're right it would be good if it just connected up straight away... But I guess it's because it's using wifi and that would make it a bit more difficult. The string is not a bad idea! I love the camera for alignment though it does make it easier than the R10. It will be really interesting to see if Garmin is working on an R20 or something... Hopefully we get a camera on that. 🤞🤞
Hi Joe, does this alignment process mean that if I wanted to use it for a LH and RH player, we'd need a mat big enough to let us both hit down a centre line rather than moving the unit side to side?
Hey mate absolutely if i was setting up an area that allowed for left and right handers I would definitely have a dual side mat or essentially two hitting mats so then you don’t need to move the unit.
Another great video, Joe. Can I ask, what do you think of the yellow box, which is more of a “slit” at times. Have you had any issues ensuring the golf ball is adequately placed in that space? It’s just hard to know whether having the ball a bit back from it, or teed up so it sits above it, whether those two events could be impacting the accuracy? Of course, a question likely being wondered by all MLM2Pro Users, have you been able to re-assess chipping since the latest update from last week? Cheers, Graeme
Hey Graeme So I'm currently away for work at the moment so haven't been able to check out the update 😭. It's killing me I just want to get home and test it out. I have got some videos pre recorded though and one of them is a chipping video with awesome golf and it actually performed quite well! I was pleasantly surprised. As for the yellow box I wish it gave us more of a top down view as like you said it's hard to tell where the hitting area actually is. I just use the 6.5ft as my minimum and then hit from in front of that. In terms of accuracy I don't think it affects it or at least in my testing this thing has been absolutely incredible with accuracy. Cheers
Good day, Joe! I've been toying with my MLM2 for 2 weeks now. Yesterday, was my first full day of being able to hit (home alone day off). What i found were terribly low numbers on just about every club. As such, i woke up with a sore back and wrists from trying to stay competitive on the Rap courses and E6. My combines were even worse. Rated me as a 29.5 😂 The one thing that kept popping up to me was that as i would align the unit, the hitting box would jump between flat (like in your video) I to somewhat two dimensional. I have it perfectly aligned and the height is within a half inch. What is the proper look of the yellow "registrable" or hitting zone?
Hey mate for the yellow box I wouldn't get too worried about it. We have just had an update that actually changes the alignment window. Just ensure you are hitting at least 6.5ft away from the unit. As for the distances I would make sure the unit is level with your hitting mat. The next thing I would do is make sure you have enough room ball to screen. If that's all good take the unit outdoors and check the ball speeds outside and then you have a reference as to what ball speeds you should be seeing indoors as well. Hopefully then you will be able to see if the balls speeds drop at all in your indoor environment.
@@JLagGOLFhow much distance do you have from monitor to ball and ball to screen in your setup? I just set mine up with spornia net in a garage and distances are also quite low. Club speeds pretty accurate but not ball speeds.
@@8__6 Hey mate at the making of this video I was 6.5 ft unit to ball and then 10 ft ball to screen. Now I have 7.5 feet unit to ball and 9 ft ball to screen.
