After a tough 0-3 start, the Raptors got their first win of the 2020-21 season, holding the Knicks to just 3/36 from downtown in the process. Chris Boucher gave some quality minutes at the C position, as Baynes and Len struggled a bit more. Definitely not a perfect game, but a lot to be happy with, and a lot to build on moving forward. The defensive breakdowns are BACK! I'm planning to break down the Raptors defense in every win throughout the season, plus occasional games from the league's elite! If you like my videos, consider supporting my Patreon - I just wrote up some early thoughts about every team in the Eastern Conference. Link's in the description!

It's easy to get frustrated with the team when they are losing, but I think we've been spoiled with how good they have been last few seasons. After losing key pieces in gasol and ibaka, and getting a few new ones, it's probably better if our expectations for them are looser. It takes them for the team to gel and adjust to new circumstances and it's a long season. There will be growing pains understandably and they themselves know it best. Trust the team and management to do their jobs. Thanks for analysis! Go Raps

Shoutout to Chris Boucher who's been giving the Raptors solid minutes. There's a section featuring him at 1:58 and 8:37.

Great to see Boucher step up while Baynes and Len get onboarded-Raps fans need to be patient! Good job Brad :)

Also going to put it out there that there's a lot of negativity and toxicity in the fanbase online lately, and if I feel comments are over the top, I'll be removing them.

Can you do a knicks defense after beating the pacers tonight 106 102 since I'm a knicks fan and they are actually top 10 in defensive ratings.

@@andrewabraham5109 tbh I will probably only stick to contenders, sorry. I primarily do Raptors, and if I have time to look at other teams I usually keep it to the upper echelon.

The Knicks put Nerlens Noel and Kevin Knox on the floor and they combined for almost -30.

I think I would agree, although it's hard to make too definitive of a judgement with how much we've seen them play so far.

Watch how bad Siakam is on closing out.

It is difficult to judge closeouts with this team, because a lot of the scheme is focused on packing the paint. As part of this scheme, they primarily try to run guys off the 3-point line and then rotate to cover, whereas most teams try to close out under control and contain the player. This can make it look like players are closing out too aggressively, when really that is part of the Raptors' whole defensive identity. Siakam was among the ver top players in 3's contested last year.

So, this is my proposal for the Raptors they should trade Lowry and honour his service by trading him to a championship contender team. The best trade and a perfect fit for Lowry are the Clippers because it will reunite him with Ibaka and Leonard since they were teammates before and developing chemistry will be easy and natural. The reason for this is giving the opportunity to their younger players like Flynn and Davis to develop and see how they perform on the court. This is actually the perfect year to do that and start building for the future. Also, I want to see Thomas play more as well. Let's think about the future Raptors, not the present time. Plus, I think they will still make the playoffs without Lowry. I am excited about the future of this team. Also, this offseason they can sign an Allstar player to stay competitive. The way this team is constructed or the roster they have right now, they are not winning a championship any time soon. In other words, give time to your younger players to develop and improve. So, please make this happen Bobby Webster and Masai Ujuri.
