It’s not Gaga it’s RaRa, it’s Haitian culture. Dominicans can’t pronounce The R you guys say GaGa which is still a Haitian word. Haitians in DR brought their culture with them but it does not belong to Dominicans
its called Rara and yes it was at carnaval time i recorded the music but you can hear it other times of the year it is used for celebration even in demonstrations, easter ash wednesday. and yes i know much about cape verde culture. they speak a creole of Portuguese while Haitian kreyol is a French based creole.
You crazy or out of mind? RaRa and GaGa is literally the same thing. GaGa is a Haitian word. The real name is RaRa since Dominicans can’t pronounce the R Dominicos Haitianos say GaGa.
