It’s nice that Hank worked to get his heart back, not to just ditch his family and get back with an old flame, but rather to help return love to his life, including to his marriage and family. :) it’s a personal thing, bringing love back to his own self, and allowing it to flow forth, instead of just housing it in a separate person, and I find that so refreshing, cause a part of learning how to love is to have love come forth from you, not having it solely come from an outside source. Love your work, dudes, and it’s great to see Hank again, he’s one of my new favorites!

Honestly had to run through this one a few times just because it was such a "Huh!" moment in that he worked to get his heart back once he finally had some bit of closure or realized that he'd been holding onto that hurt for that long.

My first RA song was Brittle Bones Nicky, about three years ago I think. I was scrolling through Facebook after putting in a bunch of job applications and getting rejected left and right. I had just dropped out of college a few months prior and was trying to find some kind of direction to put my life in while all my friends seemed to know exactly what they wanted and how they were going to get it. Found a cool little music video with a kid who had a black eye, song name kinda reminded me about how I was a puny kid growing up so I gave it a listen. Took three listens to really get it, I think. Not just the lyrics, but the kinda groove the band had going. Your first listen you’re like okay, yeah that’s pretty different and I can appreciate that. But you listen to it a second time and it’s like woah. This is *really* different. I don’t think anybody else has this sort of style of music. And by the third listen I was already searching up the band and putting on more of their songs. I can’t even explain how Rare Americans is just like the embodiment of shaking your fist at the man and when I listen to them I feel like I’m shaking my fist too. At every shitty boss I ever had, or every teacher who expected me to be just like every other kid, or any corporation or politician that gets away with being literally fucking evil because nobody can do anything about it. Thank you for being my shaking fist, RA. Hope to maybe see you in Memphis one day if your tour makes it there ✊

Man Hank is relatable in so many ways tough break ups are hard especially when it comes to people ghosting you my ex did this because she didn’t want to hurt me but it ended up doing more harm than good we are on good terms now and are still friends while I haven’t gotten into a new relationship partly because of the lack of choices around me but over all it’s by choice
