Great walk through Dom. Nice to see my pic as an example of the complete votex kit 👍 Agree on the comment regarding the rear bumper but IMO you can do the front bumper and rear spoiler but as soon as the side skirts go on the rear bumper has to be fitted to balance the look. Since fitting the rear bumper addition it’s grown on me 🙂
Always nice to use real current cars in pics when I can, yeah I know what you mean. The rear bumper is slowly growing on me and if you have the whole kit then it makes sense to keep it together
Hi nice to see my hard top still on the yellow roadster. With the hardtop looks more like the original TT coupe concept. Need Osir pedal extension for my QS
@@TheParrottBros and it was developed in a vent for better downforce because of the bubblegum lookalike rear. I tested it at 245 km/h and I'm alive hahaha
Hi again Dom, this is another informative video. We have only owned our 2000 TT since July 2023 and we love it. Ours does not have the rear spoiler and it does have the original cup holder. I live in Canada so I have heard more than once that I have the “ugly” bumpers lol. Still looking for a battery cover. Thanks again Bob.
Hey Bob, I actually really like your bumpers I guess because they are different and unique but still retain the same shape as we have just with the extra bits. Glad you are enjoying it! A cupholder man you are live in the dream ha ha. I have a couple of battery covers for sale, if you drop me a message I can work out the postage for you and give you a price, all the best Dom
Hi again Dom I am definitely interested in a battery cover. How should I private message you my address? Would you like my email or do you want to use Facebook messenger?
Loved this video, now know my cup holder is so rare! One part I don’t hear talked about much anymore are the blue or orange painted haldex controllers. Still looking for one for my TT, don’t like the hassle of the hpa touchmotion.
Hi Dom, you said you would put a link below to the American site for the Aluminium cup holder fixed onto knee support. Please can you. Great videos as usual. Thanks.
Hi, Mike here in San Francisco, I just purchased a 2003 TT , beautiful shape 4 cylinder turbo automatic, all in good shape, but the two little cubbies in the rear seat area are missing the magnetic clips that keep the little cubbie doors closed, do you know of a place where I might find them ? Thanks!
I have a phantom black mk2 3.2 DSG with the "Audi Exclusive" saddle tan leather, I've been told there were only 12 made in the UK with this spec but I have no way to be sure if that is true or not. Awesome car :)
Hi Dom. You could have added the roadster tonneau cover, really cleans up the hood area. I've seen the GTT site and their stuff does look good, I'm really drawn to the coupe boot vent covers, the fluid caps and the LED surrounds, might pull the trigger on some of that stuff tonight, you've whetted my appetite ! The bodykits look interesting, but I love the purity of the MK1 shape, so I can't see myself ever going down that road, apart from a couple of very minor mods that I have had sitting in the boot for ages, and I'll also get a mesh grille and lower grille to give the face a more cohesive look. I just love to fiddle ! 😂😂😂
Its hard isnt it, i love the oem look and thats why i never really change the exterior too much.... but the rest is fare game haha! i actually have a tonneau sat in the garage just never get round to fitting it
@@TheParrottBros yes that’s the one. Managed to find a brand new old stock one at the TT shop a couple of years back. It was the last one in existence! Even came with the ABT instructions and fitting kit. The fitting kit consisted of a small tube of bonding which was 10 years out of date and rock hard 😂😂
@@TheParrottBros I was going to say you missed something. I bought mine with the abt rear spoiler and abt front grill (on a standard bumper). The spoiler is a little sleeker and yes, overhangs the boot onto the rear quarters. I really like the look of it.
They are an acquired taste, if they produce them from factory I would be a little bit more keen for the fact that the ones that produce the metal and are quite heavy and it doesn't really suit the rounded shape of the silhouette at the back for my personal taste but I can appreciate them
Yeah i can imagine finding one now would be hard, thats one of those things people will take off, put in the garage, sell the car then years later just bin haha
I've got the OEM boot rack on my 2001 225 Roadster; original owner purchased it with the vehicle when new. It has brushed aluminum and looks a lot more integrated with the design of the vehicle than any of the aftermarket examples I've seen. I picked up an early-2000's Zero Halliburton brushed aluminum suitcase to go on it and it looks pretty sweet. I'd post a picture here if I could figure out how to do it!
Great Vid 😃👍🏻👍🏻 up for the T-shirt 😄 few things I haven’t seen before but don’t like that Porsche looking spoiler 😬 Would love the black baseball seats 😎 Keep up the good work 📹👍🏻
thanks martin, yeah all those bits may not be to everyones taste but i know there will be someone who will love each thing and if i can point them in that direction then its awesome, i have all the t shirts i wear available on my website along with decals etc
Hia again Dom :) I have one of the ABT cars- the kit from said cars wasn't actually available to buy as the wheel arches front and rear were 5inches overall wider than standard so the bumpers would not fit a standard one if that makes sense :) I believe they made a similar style bumper to purchase that would fit a standard car without the Widebody adaption:) obviously having one I am very fond of the quad exhaust 🤣
Thats wicked thanks for the information and you lucky guy!! in the original yellow i presume? haha someone has to be 😜 i joke of course im just so used to seeing tt's with twin not quad my brain cant deal with it, im sure if i had an abt sat on my drive i could get used to it
I've seen you he baseball stitched interior come in Amber Red, and blue for the mk1 TT. But the black look like Amber Red that have been re-dyed. You can see the orange undertone shining through the black that wasn't opaque enough to cover it.
My TT came with the Audi roof racks. They were hard to get even back then in 2007. I didn’t need them so I was able to sell them within a day for $450.
Great vid Dom , very interesting ! would love to know what companies are out there making parts for the MK1 TT that are no longer available , like trim panels , body panels etc.
Great vid. bought the project zwo grill yesterday. Should be fitted soon. Also bought the clear lenses for the front lights and was going to get these fitted at the same time. Body shop won’t split the lights for me so need some help to find someone who could do it….I don’t fancy it. Any help Dom ?
If they can remove them splitting them is actualy very simple its just a case of warming them up then prising them apart mate, nice work on the grill looking forward to seeing that
Hi.. Yea cool videos .. I have a 2004 3.2 roadster.. Last month my central lock system went out.. The Macha it said is one of the computers But he can’t get it anymore … Any suggestions? Thanks
Depending on the issue it’s most likely to be the ccm ( comfort control module) if a coupe is cheap, roadster is not cheap as controls roof etc. they are mounted in a roadster underneath the soft top, with the soft top up kneel on the driver seat backwards and look past the roll hoop and you see a compartment lift the flap and if you look down it is mounted against the side there
@@TheParrottBros Hi thank you for the reply .. Yes I have a convertible… The mechanic wants to charge 2000.00 dollars to fix it I think is a bit much Do you know who sales the the module? Thank you again..
Depends what cup holder you Want, you can’t run a genuine double cup holder and an arm rest at the same time as they use the same mounting. You can use an arm rest and a 3d printed cup holder or cut a double cup holder to suit the arm rest
@@TheParrottBros Thanks for the quick response! The cup holder and the arm rest are genuine items, I have the cup holder and thinking to buy the arm rest. Thank you for your time and for the great videos.
Hey brother I've been following you for a long time I'm in America on the East Coast New York-New Jersey area I have an MK 12 25 2001 TT is rather unique I have tons of rare parts that I've been holding onto for all generations 39 38 years old I've had Audis for about 20 years extreme car enthusiasts I used to build on days that I got into Audis I have several right now
Do you know the percentage of the TTs that came with the Bose audio system? or was it all of them? Also you should check the soft top cover, I own a OEM one and I can't find any for less than 1000$ on ebay, but you can find some some aftermarket ones for 100$, and it turns out that the small extra space of the convertible is to be able to fit the cover in trunk, as the OEM one atleast folds and fits perfectly.
Not all TT's had bose, some just cae with a part amplified speaker system, my silver roadster doesnt have bose for example. i would say probably 10-20% of tt's dont have bose but i think it was quite popular in its day
No idea why you would think the window drops get you keys , the reason is due to the design and history , the glass surface area , it drops to save seals and keep air tightness when driving but mainly , when you close the door it allows air pressure to leave rather than pop a window , it was a thing back in the day with cars with small interior to glass ratio , with the old glass seals but country dependent ( with temp ) and or of both doors were slammed front or bk would pop Interested in the 20quud micro switch fix for the door lock if you have a link
I've emailed you about pogiparts and some roof bars! Great vid by the way....some interesting stuff, I've seen a guy on youtube restore one of the ABT cars.Oh and I've got some of the GTT stuff brilliant stuff buy the way!
I just bought a Mk1 TT and from your videos, I knew what to look out for and what to worry about. I instantly saw the OEM cupholder and thought of you 😂 yeah sure it's got a couple of problems that need fixing but brilliant service history and this guy has owned it 6 years and has spent lots of money making sure it passes its MOT each year so I was happy with it. Parts need fixing; flexi pipe and power steering pump.
A CUP HOLDER!!! HAHA take my money, i love seeing a cup holder when buying a tt, that or an arm rest haha Sounds like you did your research good on you mate, hope its a good one and you get plenty of smiles to the gallon
@The Parrott Bro’s Haha thank you. I do miss having an armrest but I'll take the cupholder any day of the week.. The car will be nice once its done. However after driving it properly now that I own it I've discovered a problem that I have not a clue what it is. Keeps revving when i let off throttle and dip the clutch to change gear 🤷♂️.. but the power steering pump was just low fluid so an easy fix 😊
Different engine models.. I bought at auction what I thought was a regular 180.. however there was a limited market in mk1/phase 1 that had a tuned 180 that the only thing different is the brushed steel on the glovebox that has the Audi “🟥S” monogram alongside the Quattro badge in.. I literally panic bought it at reserve price so it didn’t get broken for parts.. deep met blue paint, bright blue leather seats and the wheels that came on the 225 S3 of the same year.. I already got an S3 with the Bam in. 😂
@@TheParrottBros hey man, sent you a picture of the ones I have in hand, I've only seen them on a small handful of cars. Take a look at let me know if they're actually common? They certainly don't seem to be common in the US at least. Had to ship these ones from a guy in Romania lol.
If I would of known how valuable the cup holders were, I would of stripped that off of my wrecked TT. I only took the seats, dash and head and rear lamps.
That’s sad to hear mate! Yeah this is something I often hear people say, they miss the tt’s and come back to them in later life. Just harder to find nice ones
I rebuilt my last one from your videos pretty much did every video you put out, swapped the engine twice, was great experience, might try a v6 this time 😁
Great vid, love the channel. I have the armrest in my 225 coupe, fairly certain it's Audi manufactured, it has all the right logos etc. Also have the original cupholder(s) in my roadster. Would very much like to get a tonneau cover for the roadster, but seem very hard to find.
As far as I know there is no genuine arm rest made for the mk1. The TT shop and forge commissioned one that looks like it should be genuine with the dimpled end caps. The tonneau covers do pop up on eBay quite often for 100-150 depending On condition and seller. Thanks for the channel support 😎
@@TheParrottBros Gotcha! My mistake. Honestly it really does look like Audi made it, the company did a fantastic job, the build quality is superb, pricey, but I'd say well worth it if anyone has the cash.
Really interesting video this, I have only recently acquired a TT and was interested to see if I had any rare ish parts on it. I have a cup holder which was a good start but I also noticed that I have an old IPod connector cable in the glove box. Yet to see if it is working with the factory stereo though 😂
Yes it was real. Above 220-230 km/h the car could lose the rear really easily (peoples actually died in the Autobahn), so Audi made this recall. It's a real thing
Wow thats cool, 12 years on and still have it! yeah its a tough one as not that many cars out there that would give you the same driving experience / looks for not mad money
Oh sorry I forgot to mention yeah the car has the original 17in fat 5 rims the clear coat coming off so I've been standing that off or actually like with a drill and paint remover tool adapter that goes on it been doing a good job removing the rest of the clear coat because it looked cancer now it looks Ross so I either at the policy for put a clear coat but the interior is rather unique I almost wish it was two tone black but it kind of is just a dash is in the steering wheel and all that but the door cards and everything else the rug and seats are blue never seen interior I have heated seats no ESP button but I do have ESP I have a AWS LED boost gauge pillar pod but I've never seen another TT with my type seats I don't even know what to call it it's leather on the sides almost like my S4 or what they would do with the Alcantara Suede & Leather except for its leather on the sides and everywhere else and usually where they would put the Alcantara suede it's like a weird like fabric with horizontal stitching of 3 lines at a time
Haha i was waiting for someone to say that, i always trey and use cars that i know people own, always nice to see your car on an enthusiasts video ayy, mate honestly some parts cost more than half decent cars haha
@@TheParrottBros you are always welcome to use my car pics in the videos. You can pickup some good bargains and make decent profit. I recently bought some genuine qS wheels and tyres for £300. An armrest for £35 from eBay. And a V6 bumper for £55 a few years ago.
The rev counter keeps bouncing and oil light keeps flashing I have had it go into the garage and they don’t know why it’s doing it I have had ecu testing on it and new oil pump new oil pick up pipe new oil pressure sensor and new oil sensor but it’s still doing it not sure where to go from here thanks 🙏
Poor roof bars discontinued because people kept breaking the rear glass with their skis & poles. So lucky I found a set If anyone has a lead on projekt 2 door blades/trim hit me uppppp
hello. very good video, very rare and unknown pieces, you need the 2 din to put a screen. Thank you my wife starts to hate you, your ideas make me spend money on my tt
OSIR presently don't ship to the U.K. Only know this as I have some bits on my mk2 and wanted some other stuff and it was like getting an answer wrong on family fortunes.
Ooo man thats annoying specially as the market for the parts is massive here, im sure there is a work around like ordering it from a third party company that are a franchise or distributer, like tt parts in the links i left
Thats a good one, only my v6 has it out of all the cars, the noggy had it retro fitted in my ownership as its a must. luckily you can buy the stalks cheap
@TheParrottBros having the directions between your clocks was ... like a lot of things TT so ahead of its time. But I do find it weird than on so many more modern day to day cars people bother to advertise it for the exact reason you said .. their out of date and your phones better anyway.
Yeah but don't want to distort the look of the vents with one of them and also the direct warm air on the phone in winter i think it isn't a great idea,so i think the better choice is one of those supports of aluminium between the vents because are also great looking and recalls the aluminium parts.
Some cool features there. I’ve seen a Votex kit on a car in Ticehurst and went after them on my bike but never caught them up to give them a card! The Sat Nav rocks! Oh and I stuck my iPhone in one cup holder and the coke in the other ;)
On my 225 German spec tt, I have a factory phone changer between the two cups holders . In the hard horse shoe curved plastic that the cup holder bolts to . The external aerial is in the Roof I know it’s factory approved because the hole is dimpled pressed not Just drilled with a random drill bit. No idea what phone it would change I guess a Motorola or Nokia . But no cradle where the handle is beside the hand brake leaver
How cool! often people take the phone part out and leave the hardware, ive seen some cool things people have done with old phone holders like wireless charge pad etc
@@TheParrottBros The first one I saw online had the phone mounting stuff removed and I thought it was a cool looking "oh shit" handle for the passenger to grab onto. I'd been looking for one before I got educated on what it actually is.
Sorry for the long post bro after watching your video I forgot don't know if you ever knew that the concept in 95 they were going to do a TT sky like a Target top kind of like the Del Sol that would have been so freaking cool man but I forgot to mention that I have Factory satnav it's in the trunk or I guess you guys called the boot in the UK on the left when you open the boot you can see something protruding like two little plastic twist knobs which reveals the sat-nav unit and also mine looks just like you didn't the video up front with the knob and I get voice guidance and I have the directions on the console the info console I don't know what I have I think the original DVD I don't know what I can do with it I was hoping to get like obviously cuz it's Single Din make a flip-out single DIN screen type radio I want to upgrade the sound system but that's after the suspension which is after I fix the front bolt so I can actually drive the car for the brakes and second gear I hope it just needs a clutch man the car has 198k on it it literally knock on wood runs and sounds brand new and has no engine issues just the airbag light I I tried to turn it off but it wouldn't on vcds because the front bumper has been tapped is a little damage I'll figure it out but it's the least of the worries haven't even put a thousand miles on it since I've owned it for 4 years I installed a Kenwood single DIN regular Bluetooth head unit with USB the unit is about like 10 years old it's simple and is better than the stock one and I think everything still works with the sat-nav since it separates but I really don't use it and I like I said I need to get updated I guess I would just have to get the latest DVD that they made for it
My only concern would be is the sat nav linked to the stereo for the voice commands? i think they did make later editions to the maps etc but the way things like google maps and Waze are taking over with real time traffic, voice control etc i dont think the tt nav competes. i hear this story very often where people buy cars and spend years getting it perfect, i too have done it with the noggy one, all i will say is do your best to just keep it road worthy and reliable and just get out there and enjoy it, i wish thats what i did
