Rare and Scruffy XK but An Old Friend 

I had one of the 47 and drove it for years. Mine cost me £1800 and I got £3000 for it when I got fed up it. But god it was hard work to drive. Brakes were horrendous, it was noisy and hot and did 16 mpg no matter how it was driven. Seats were awful and that flat wooden floor, nearly lying down but still 2 ft off the road because of that damn great chassis. Miss the money I would have got if I'd hung on to it but don't miss the XK. Oh and the pair of 6v batteries behind the front wheels with a great big lead between the two, who came up with that? Check the battery? Take both front wheels off. I seem to remember it was easier to set the points with the offside wheel off too. Mine still had the red rear indicators and time and again I would nearly get hit turning right.

Keep original and unrestor👍

I think you should sell it to someone who can afford to restore it to showroom condition.
