I love these crazy unusual succulents which is why I buy succulents! If I lived near you I’d pay you to let me help you. I also love the pots you have, beautiful.
What a wonderful series. It’s great to hear about these ‘mutants’ of the succulent world from someone so knowledgeable and experienced. He has amassed a terrific selection. Looking forward to learning more about the propagation care of these plants.
@@johnnyAGardening good morning. I'm been watching your succulents show I love it. Because I'm succulents lover, how do I contact you? I'm in suburbs of Sydney. Where is this place. Could you please respond me thank you.
@@INDAYNGABIL In Sydney Try susanssucculents.com.au/ - they have a nursery at Killcare ( By appointmant) OR try Succulents Australia www.succulents-australia-sales.com/ - They are in Melbourne....
I have a very tiny crested eschevaria growing from leaf propagation. From the first moment I could see it forming, the line was there. Very exciting. I also have a graptosedum ghostly that is crested. Gorgeous. 💚
Ha! After watching this, I really took my pointed eyebrow tweezers to the crevices of my one cristate Echeveria, “Golden Maria” today! Extremely satisfying to get rid of the old and dead stuff. I suppose I was nervous about damaging the plant before. Thanks for giving me confidence. In the process, a couple of fat lurking Mealy Bugs had their atoms returned to the great cycle of the universe.
Ah Carol, the power of tweezers is a remarkable thing. A good clean out makes a lot of things look better..... You can get long bonsai tweezers as well, excellent for plants,.......
Wow ! Love all your crests ! They’re my favorite! I’m loving your videos. I’m subscribing right now . The brilliant red Echeveria Chocolate is to DIE for ! So glad to know the name . You’re so right about the dead leaves . And if you get pests , they’re harder to treat . Any tips on treating spider mites and Mealybugs in crests ? I’ve had quite a time with both pests . Killed my favorite crested Fred Ives treating for mites . I was devastated . Thanks for another great video 😊
That was a truly beautiful video to watch, I feel privileged just to see so many different crests lol. The are like unicorns just so unique and I absolutely adore them. I have a few now in my collection, some I've grown myself others I've stumbled across with much delight at a local nursery or from a local grower. I'm going to find your propagation video now because I have a crested echeveria topsy turvy but it hasn't put down roots yet so I'm hoping to learn alot for your next video thank you all very much for such fantastic videos 😁👏👏👏💯😁
@@johnnyAGardening no worries mate, I realised after I commented that this was a very new video and I was going to have to wait for the next 2. Then felt like a bit of a goose lol. Again just brilliant videos so helpful and really informative I learn alot. I was so happy when you explained how the mutation is happening, probably have to watch a few more time before it sinks in lol but information like that is so helpful and really interesting 👍. Anyhow, Eargerly but patiently awaiting the next videos 👌👍😁.
Brilliant video! Absolutely amazing to see so many crested varieties while learning how to care for them. I'm in love with the crested monanthes polyphylla and E. Green Smile potted with the crested version is lovely. Thank you johnny and James!
Hello Maria, we have a propagation video on the way, and will talk to James about transplant, repotting and potting mix video, thanks for the idea and stay safe.
Fantastic collection! Thanks for the overview. I'd love to have many of those. Most would need to overwinter indoors in my rainforest tho, so I have some planning and re-organizing to do!
Beautiful plants! 💕😍As always, very awesome and informative video, thank you Jhonny and James. I love all your plants but I live too far to buy from you without risking the life of the plants. Merry Christmas to you all🎄💕☮️🌵🌺.
Don't mist a succulent. Wait until the leaves aren't firm and soak them until water runs out or bottom water. Most important things for succulents are a well draining soil mix and a pot with proper drainage.
Great video, absolutely lovely! What is that multicolored beauty left of E. fimbriata crest found around the 1 minute timestamp? Is it the crested form of the Graptoveria Debbie?
Fantastic! I believed that the crest form only can get from leaves, but I have a truck of beheaded Perle Von N. where was growing a new crest plant because there was a little space between the truck and one leaf (before, on the top of this leaf borned another plant): a few of heads and only one (central head) was normal. I took pictures ( I could send you if you want to see them) so now I know the reason of cresting form is not a virus or bacteria or not only these. It's very interesting: of my ten diferent propagated leaves, four new plant are crest. Regards.
Hello Ana, it is a fascinating area, we are doing a video on propagating crests from stem cuttings, and another from leaf cuttings. Hope to have the first one of these soon. The one on leaf cuttings will take longer as we are trying to show the results as well as the process with these.
Hello Johnny. Great! I live in Seville (Spain), not so far 😂. I can email 3 pictures and I hope I can explain well what I want to say: 1. When the new plant was growning between the thunk and the leaf. 2) When I cut the leaf to promote growth of the new plant. 3) the truck when I cut the new plant because there is another baby echeveria down (a little part remains attached to the trunk because I ripped it so I think it is going to grow too). I am sure that when you will see the picture you will understand me perfectly. Sorry, my english is not perfect 😂! Your videos are very interesting and the echeverias are amazing. Thanks for share knowledge and beauty.
Hello Ana, You can email to info@nurseriesonline.com.au . Send the photos to this address. If you have a mobile phone, a 10 sec video would be interesting as we are doing a video on PVN very soon and would love to include that.
Hello Nardgin, The response to this video has been great and encourages us to to more, we will have two more videos specifically on propagation of crests, then we will try to include crests in each individual video where possible. We do mention them in the video on Ling Snow, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZB4n4FT2t4E.html
@@johnnyAGardening is Echeveria fimbriata Crest the same as the chocolate? I cannot find it on their website and that was the only one that came up looking similar.
"Revert to Normal" is an interesting turn of phase, as is the word "weird". Easy to identify with plants however with gardeners........ All a little weird or is it everyone else....
I’m new to succulents and trying to understand what crests are. Thank you for the great explanation. They aren’t particularly appealing to be but they will probably grow on me. Pun intended.
2:06 what's the name of that plant again? I think I heard you say echeveria chocolate? I looked it up on Google and the images that came up look nothing like it.
