Travel back in time when the dragster would slingshot down the strip with the engines in the front, Funny Cars were still in Competition Eliminator and the Super Stocks were as the true factory hot rods.
According to NHRA, the event, held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, set an attendance record when 37,000 spectators attended the NHRA World Championship and Tulsa Invitational drags there, exceeding by a good margin the previous attendance record for any sports event in that city.
This event was originally broadcast on NBC, presented the legends of drag racing from Top Fuel to Top Gas to Super Stock.

"Sneaky' Pete & his 427 SOHC Ford! I was only 13 in '66 & wasn't following the drag races yet. It wouldn't be too long before that changed though! I remember almost every one of these names, sadly most are no longer with us. RIP to all that have gone on.❤🏁🏆

I know nothing about dragsters, in France its non existent. I was not born in 1966. There are many things I disagree with America; but not as much is in France ha! But I love this video so much and would have loved to be there. Thanx so much for loading !!

4:05 Voice-over guy must have needed glasses, "Ohio" painted in large lettering , not Michigan. I raced with Mary Ann`s kid at National Trail Raceway back in the 80s
