Metamorphosis+ when it generated two 0 cost Meteor strikes that I then drew the next turn which in turn generated a crap ton of plasma that generated energy to empty my hand on the slime boss felt particularly great
I love this style of video: One important thing you missed about mayhem, if it gets an X costed card, it gets full credit for X, but doesn't cost any energy. So there is a bit of a synergy there.
I know it feels like the cheap answer, but Apotheosis is my favorite rare colorless card. It isn't flashy like bomb, or accelerating like master of strategy, but it just makes any deck I play feel so much more powerful.
I had an A19 Ironclad deck when I was re-ascending on my Swtich that relied almost entirely upon Corruption + Chrysalis + multiple Exhumes. Just play a bunch of skills, get Chrysalis back with Exhume, and then sometimes Chrysalis gave me more Exhumes. One of the most bizarre but fun decks I assembled. Wasn't quite powerful enough to get the heart, but I got the ascension.
Another important note for Mayhem: the card taken from the top of the draw pile happens _after_ you draw your hand, so putting a card on top using Headbutt, Rebound, Warcry, Thinking Ahead, Setup, etc. will not play the card with Mayhem.
I love panache. I tend to go for shiv decks a little more than I probably should and panache can often be that little something you need to make a shiv deck do work. I've also had some luck with it in all for one decks. Not quite as good there but can still be a good pickup.
After playing with ironclad's exhaust package I grew to like transmutation as well, sometimes generating itself and grants many more cards to exhaust. Managed to kill the heart with dramatic entrance generated from it.

Panache was insane when I had a scrape defect deck. Bunch of 0 cost cards and ones that apply weak and vulnerable. Just to get them all back with all for one. Easiest run of my life.
Panache is crazy in both Silent and Defect 0-cost decks. Silent gets a ridiculous amount of cards played through Shivs, while Defect does amazing things with Scrape, Seek, Overclock, and All For One
I remember a Defect run I had where I picked up Claw and Panache in an early Act 1 shop, having gotten gold from Neow. This deck would later win the run. At some point in Act 2, I was considering adding a card to my deck for area damage, and then I realized "I already have that. It's called Panache." In some weird situations, Panache *can* be a good primary source of area damage.
Had a great run with silent today. First heart kill that wasn't A0. First A10 win too! But I had apotheosis, 2 secret techniques, and the intangible card. Worked super well and made the deck super consistent once I got them. Definitely worth with 10 HP. After that, I think I will almost always be taking the 3 colorless cards, whenever I can
As a beginner spire player, Apotheosis is my personal favourite card, first thing i do once i get it is upgrade it. Apotheosis is a very forgiving card for noobs like myself, also the art on the card is so nice. 🤗
Apotheosis also allows you to take fusion hammer where it's normally a relic I avoid without at least 2 of the egg relics, apotheosis or warped tongs. It's also great with a seating blow deck where you want to use most of your upgrades on one card.
mayhem for me is like, great if you got snecko eye cause it basically likes the same kind of deck snecko does (which is basically add any "high value per card" card you can get your hands on to your deck) but if you having anything that's timing sensitive in your deck you probably don't want it. Issue is that you can't really build around it cause if you build like you'd build a snecko deck unless it's bottled you'll have a rough time with how slow it is to get going. I think with cards like catalyst, finisher, vault or in particular blasphemy it can straight up lose you the game. Ironclad I'd say is the one I'm the most comfortable picking it for.
Ik this is an old video but doesn't Mayhem synergize well with Frozen Eye thus making it essentially a way to play a free X card? If you were, say, playing Silent and you had Mayhem+Frozen Eye you can strategize youre mayhem playing Skewer or If you are Ironclad play Whirlwind without spending energy.
You can wait to play Mayhem so that Echo Form can keep it's control. Let Echo double some important cards, and then let Echo double Mayhem. Now that you have 2 Mayhem Echo will play the first card again, giving you 3 cards played for free every turn.
@@peon9584 nah, i stand by my stance. yes double mayhem is definitly nice, but i don't think you will get more value out of those than with a card of your choosing duplicated, just by the virtue of how much energy and card draw you can generate if either is duplicated.
@@noahmansland3301 I think you misunderstood my comment. If you play Echo first and ignore Mayhem briefly you have the normal effects of Echo. Normal Echo is amazing, so you have a few amazing turns waiting for a nice setup turn for Mayhem. Then on that setup turn you play Mayhem first so that Echo duplicates it. Doing this setup grants you 2 Mayhem and 1 Echo Form. A turn with those powers on looks like this: Mayhem #1 plays a random card for free (saving you one card draw, however much energy the card costed, and giving you the card's effect), since that was the first card played that turn Echo duplicates that first card (saving the same card draw, energy, and card effect), now Mayhem #2 activates and plays a random but different card. Don't get me wrong Echo form is amazing. A buy-one-get-one-free deal is great value. But adding Mayhem to Echo will make it random, but will turn the buy-one-get-one-free into get-three-for-free-you-don't-even-have-to-buy-anything. It even slightly counteracts the randomness since it play 1 random card twice and 1 random card once so you're less likely to waste the savings on a 0 cost card. And again I wanna reiterate, you can use normal Echo Form and keep your control for as long as you like and then add Mayhem when you have enough health to be randon. Surely at that point it is at least worth considered adding to a deck.
