Good review video Gamester81.I remember the adds for the Columbia House Video Game System with my old mailings of the Columbia House Music Mag: in the early 80's. Peace.
Gamerster... you are probably the most polite youtube users out there. your intros and outros seem so genuine, more than others; it is like you wait for our response. Hi Gamerster!!!
ahh John, it's always great to come home from work and enjoy a toke over your reviews!! Great overview and back info, do you have a Sears Video Arcade?
That's really cool man I love seeing rare 2600 stuff. That is a very interesting era of gaming, sort of a wild west with all the weird stuff Coleco did.
So... my dad gave me #7852. Played this console, every summer! Moonsweeper was fun, donkey Kong was just the same, it is the colecovision one. Spy hunter never worked tho. This is a great video!
great review as always. i really enjoy the fact that you always tell us a bit of the company history who published the consoles and stuff like that. i also like your voice and speakingstyle. here in germany we had a cable tv-show who showed retro games and consoles but it was more like watching two guys playing miserable old games and talking trash without any valuable information. so keep up the good work and i'm looking forward for the mattel aquarius review. ;) cheers
Just want to say you've really inspired me to start collecting consoles and I got the first of my collection in the post today, it was an Atari 2600 :)
How is your Playchoice 10 doing? Have you done a review of it? I'm curious, as I am also a PC10 owner. I would also like to add that you're doing a fantastic job with your channel. I really enjoy each episode. Keep it up!
I own this console, I was not aware it was so rare. Sadly I lost my power adapter for it. I did buy a replacement 2600 adapter but the 3.5 mm is to small for the one on my Columbia Home Arcade System.
Another awesome video. Who knew systems like the Atari 2600 and Collecovision supported such awesome games. Further more the Columbia Home Arcade pwns on so many levels it's perfect for any retro gaming hipster.
I remember the Columbia House video game club. I never saw the system offered though. I also don't really remember any games that were available exclusively through the club.
Oh WOW! I totally forgot the Gemini existed! Now I remember. I remember bugging my parents for that system for months. They shut me down, unfortunately.
Hey I have one of these! Mine is #2750. I think you kicked off alot of discussion of this old underrated clone with great history of the classic sue happy wars between the game companies during/before the big crash. Great job with the awesome history lesson on it! I didn't know all of that! Wish I could find the shipping box... there's one on ebay # 7000 something so they made at least that many.

BTW I like the gemini style controllers too! Of course the gemini was my first system :)
I thought it was just Coleco that just made Atari clones back in the 80s (Except for those Sears Tele-Games consoles) Were there any other companys that made Atari clones
@goffmen He would have been too young to order it from Columbia House. I was in High school and was in the video game club. I don't remember them ever offering this. I don't know how I missed out on this. I guess I already had a 2600 and colecovision so wouldn't have needed it.
Awesome, another system to look for LOL!!!! I Love my 2600 collection and my Coleco too so this Columbia system would be Freakin Sweet to find(The Gemini too)!!

D: i almost dropped my beer when you said you prefered the gemini controller.... theres just that classic feel of the atari 2600 controller that you cant get with anything else....
@revoltkid123 I think you need to watch the Angry Video Game Nerd's review of "Atari Porn". search in google "screwattack gametrailers" and click the first link, and then click the AVGN section and search it.
@revoltkid123 I did a review over Beat'em and Eat'em actually on DailyMotion. It's too controversial to be on YT. My DailyMotion channel name is NEStalgiaholic
