the Rare Earth In Concert album is one of the all-time great road trip albums. I have logged many miles over the years jamming out to these amazing tunes. It sounds as good today as it did in 1969.
Love this song back in college and still do today. We were all blasted listening ( some of us were jamming) to this back in the day. You just don’t hear instruments being played like this today, one of the best, badass as others have referred to it.

'69 was a fantastic year for myself and my friends! This song along with many from Rare Earth were songs we played and partied too! Now 67 and feel the same emotions 🎉
This may surprise some but Rare Earth is/was a giant in the Hip Hop world. Growing up in the Bronx, in the late 70's , DJ Kool Herc played & sampled Rare Earth. One of my favorites!
First heard it in 1966 in a club in Boulogne,France..took ne a couple of years to find their L.p Bought it in my grandparents village in Holland Hoorn..Still got it and enjoy.
Pete Rivera, Rare Earth's drummer has a very impressive singing voice. Motown was a friggin' factory what with not only the great acts, but the writers and arrangers, as well as the writers. This particular song as you may know, was a hit song for the Temptations before the Motown brass passed it along to Rare Earth, who did this great cover.

Remember hearing this on Philly's Famous 56 WFIL radio station back early 11/69 . But , it wasn't played much until mid 4/70 , and became a top ten around late 5/70. From early 60s to early 70s Rock n Roll was wild , and good. This tune was a great dance tune to Blue eyed Rock n Roll with some terrific psych ! Vietnam era , and tune came out right after WoodStock of 69.. By 1970 things were totally radical ; the conflict in SouthVietnam was still raging , Evan though Pres.Nixon was pulling out troops., The protests , the war , hippies , drugs Al was mayhem.1970 was a radical year for sure. @ 13 years old I recall seeing on the local/ national news the Kent State University tragedy where 4 students were shot to death by Ohio National Guardsman! due to students protesting Pres. Nixon's oder an incursion of US of A troops into Cambodia to seek and destroy Viet - Cong , and NVA sanctuaries in Cambodia around late 4/1970 . Seen friends bros. , And neighbors sons sent to NAM from 1965-69 ; last one returning late 1971 .
