No one sings even close to this level today. Marilyn Horne is better with the coloratura, but the range, freeness of sound, and ease of singing goes to Erna. Fantastic performance!
Dommage que les méthodes d'enregistrement étaient à leurs balbutiements, de très grandes artistes comme Lily Pons, Erna Stack ou encore Mado Robin auraient méritées une technologies d'enregistrement au plus haut niveau. Notre époque manque cruellement d'artistes de cet acabit. Nous avons des systèmes d'enregistrement au top niveau et plus aucun artiste pour nous en faire profiter 😢

@@MaestroWenarto i see. Thank you so much. It is rather interesting that the camera focus on a few audience, probably some celebrities, but that was 1936 and i am just grateful that it was recorded
@@peterloedden9716 In 1935 the Germans started using their latest invention: magnetic tape. All the best artists from that moment on recorded on it. However they refused to license it to other countries as that way they had the finest recordings in the world. Everyone else was relegated to the dark ages of acetate.
