I'm in this game to extract retro TV content. It's good fun but I don't think I could by a random crate at a car boot sale unless I could be sure the seller was the one who recorded it and can thus tell me what might be on there.

Yeah I'd rather watch an old taped off the TV vhs tape than a show on streaming any day. Especially since I'm older now, it's like a time travel nostalgia trip for me. Thank you for watching as always and have a great week

@@BattletoadOVerload It is an unknown part of the Dragonball series. Toei Animation never officially released it. It was meant as a Dragonball GT continuation series produced in 1999-2003 behind the scenes with the help of studio Susanoo (A group of Akira Toriyama's original editing staff who worked on the Dragonball Z manga specifically joined a small studio after the end of Z in 1995 along with veteran animators.) I learned about it back in 2003 in Flushing, New York at a Chinatown anime store that sold "illegal anime". To define "illegal", I will try to clarify. The bootleg low quality VHS tapes from the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's were just "grey market" material because they were just pre recorded and came out in official capacity in its home country by the company. When I use the term "illegal anime" , the content they carried was produced by the Production companies, but never announced, never distributed, never acknowledged or listed by the company (it was shelved). Essentially, anime that never saw the light of day in any "official" capacity. How certain places got their hands on material like this, it could happen in many ways, but obviously the underground markets. I realized this once nothing about it surfaced. There is way more to this, but what I'm looking for is blank VHS copies of the master reels. That's what is floating about on the underground. Also, there was another part to the GT series produced in 1998 by Toei Animation in the form of specials. The only one I was able to see was A fallen (evil) supersaiyajin 5 Son Goku Special (A heroes return/welcome home) which is right after the last saga (Evil Shenlong Saga). Alot of people don't know, when GT ended in 1997, everyone thought the franchise was over and fully completed (it gives a "THE-END" message on the final episode 64 of GT with a 100 year timeskip unexplained). The GT Extended Production Specials in 1998 as well as the Dragonball Ultimate series both take place during the unexplained 100 year timeskip. There was a rumor back then called "Dragonball AF" but is a fan creation from Spain but it's what most people were familiar with as a GT continuation with similar setting and content. Even today, the entire public, and anime community are not aware of the "REAL" material or that it even exists (which the real lost material sequels are the GT specials in 1998, and Dragonball Ultimate).... Anyone who has them aren't talking, no information online, no auction sites. So, I'm taking a dive at pages like this to see if I can luck up because you never know who may be connected.

@@BattletoadOVerload Also, what make Dragonball Ultimate obscure is its production. Dragonball in general is produced as a "weekly" anime and manga that runs alongside it's serialization and production, so it would be hard to hide the existence of such a project... Ultimate, however, was produced with all the episodes, movies, specials being completed before announcements, interviews, distribution (airing), release, marketing, etc. It was cancelled during the animation (85% completely animated show) before "Post Production" (post is where you get the "leaks" from marketing, interviews, announcements, distribution, etc as a "known" and public listing. This still did not stop copies of studio tapes to float on the underground markets (not in mass quantity). Enough that nothing has surfaced in more than 26 years.

@@vmgomez87 That's all very interesting. My friends and I watched every episode of dragonball and dbz, but never watched GT because it wasn't airing on cable where we lived, so we just dismissed it. And we didn't like Bulmas hair lol. Never knew anything was planned after GT. I will look out for Dragonball Ultimate!

@@BattletoadOVerload not much people at all . I would watch episode 64 of GT in japanese for context with English subtitles and the Goku Jr special. Those are the only 2 things to fully understand it. GT was cut short with material written afterward that the company never got to put in the original GT TV series (that's where the GT Extended Production Specials came from). Each special had a number of episodes to them. These also never came out. This type of material was pushed to the eastern European blackmarkets because of the nature of their laws, Japanese law pushed that kind of material stores were carrying out of the region. Unfortunately, you would have to look through and check every single tape. Getting a connection to that underground market costs money and resources but can be done. But rightfully, can't upload it because illegal. Not a slap on the wrist type, but the heavy stuff.
